Book three of the London Legends.....
Best friends make the best lovers.
Libby Hart and Matt Ogden are perfect for each other—as friends. They’ve known each other for ages. They act as each other’s plus-ones. They even share custody of a dog. And if there’s always been a little spark between them, so what? It’s never been worth jeopardizing their friendship.
Professional rugby player Matt is fighting for a starter position with the London Legends—and that’s not the only thing he’s fighting. A crippling fear of flying means he’s struggling to get his career off the ground. He has no time for a relationship, even if Libby does make him ache. As an airline pilot, Libby’s looking for a stay-at-home husband so she can have a family without sacrificing her high-flying career. Matt’s certainly not that man.
But just because they don’t have a future together doesn’t mean they can’t have a right now. When Matt asks Libby for help overcoming his fear, they agree to take a vacation from their platonic relationship—whenever they fly together, they can have sex. It’s the perfect way to resolve all that built-up tension. As long as they can avoid getting a little too comfortable…

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As a fan of sports-themed romances I consider Ms. Latham's London Legends series one of the best amongst a large crowd.  She beautifully weaves sports action on the field with delightfully endearing and realistic characters steaming up bedrooms off the field while maintaining an emotional storyline and strong character development.  As the third book in the series the boys are back and just as sexy and playful as ever as we get brief glimpses of the other players that has me seeing more story possibilities on the horizon.  It can definitely be read on its own but with such a well-written series you won't want to miss a single minute.

Libby grew up around planes as her dad was a military pilot.  It made for a deep connection between them that was bruised by his chronic infidelities and his demanding expectations.  Therefore she's always tried to be the best, plan her life out so she can have it all, and find a man devoted only to her.  She has little time for dating with a busy career but desperately wants to find a man willing to stay at home with the children while she works.  Her plan leads to many disastrous dates and little sympathy from her neighbor and best friend, Matt.  Unbeknownst to him though is that he's part of the problem.  Libby's attracted to him but thinks he's unable to commit after seeing many women going in and out of his life.  Her attraction is holding her back as no man seems able to live up to Matt's qualities.  To purge him from her system she enacts a plan where she helps him get over his fear of flying while rewarding him every step of the way with sensual promises.  It's a plan that backfires though as they get closer together and the lines blur between friends and lovers.  When she's offered the job of a lifetime she'll have to decide if she really can have it all or if she even wants it all without Matt.  Libby is a strong-willed, confident woman desperate to make her father proud through success in a man's world.  His infidelities tainted her outlook on love and commitment and have left her doubting many obvious truths right in front of her.  It's a turbulent yet highly entertaining journey to HEA that leaves you on edge until the very end.

Rugby has been a part of Matt's life since he was born the son of a famous rugby player.  It put a lot of pressure on him that's left him frustrated as he's not been able to live up to the legend.  His father certainly told him often enough about his failures and disappointments.  He's felt more like a failure than a success ever since, except in Libby's eyes as she's always been supportive of him and is his biggest cheerleader.  After a marriage that ended due to his wife's infidelities he too doubts true love exists and therefore keeps his interludes casual so he doesn't get hurt again.  He's been drawn to Libby since they first met and found her sweet and funny but his thoughts have recently become more sexual.  He doesn't want to ruin their friendship but wants more.  He wants to take a chance as he tries to respect her boundaries in a struggle between being friends and lovers.  Matt's delightfully entertaining with a playful nature.  With his teammates there's brotherly banter and with Libby it's sensual and witty banter that goes from friendly to dirty talk.  The shift from friends to lovers was subtle but powerful to see.  Matt was humble when it came to his talent and it was endearing seeing his joy at finally succeeding with Libby's help.  They're a great match and I was rooting for Libby to admit that every step of the way.

This was a delightful story with an entertaining main couple. Their interactions were playfully sweet and sexy.  Their connection crackled with energy and rapid fire dialogue that had me laughing and blushing.  There was a perfect blending of sports and romance to fully immerse you in the story and keep you turning the pages as fast as possible praying for their HEA.  Ms. Latham has crafted another wonderful addition to the series and I look forward to what she has planned next.

My rating for this is an A.
