I live in the largest city in the state but grew up with a weekend home in the country on a lake so I was exposed to a much different life at the same time. For that reason, I always have a soft spot for country, small town stories, and especially cowboys and rodeo guys.bas1chshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12946827524183942266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8732262889492827338.post-11732216387267325762012-04-11T18:29:05.496-05:002012-04-11T18:29:05.496-05:00I'm a big city "Yankee" who has live...I'm a big city "Yankee" who has lived in "the South" for almost 20 years. I like fish out of water settings--big city girls who end up on a farm or small-town guys who discover the big city.
catherinelee100 at gmail dot comCatherine Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14998035693869891918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8732262889492827338.post-89317780453688956132012-04-11T15:01:06.542-05:002012-04-11T15:01:06.542-05:00And see, Leslie, that Wyoming town of yours is per...And see, Leslie, that Wyoming town of yours is perfect fodder for my writing!! One hometown boasted a population of 25 and the metropolis consisted of a combination gas station, grocery, and post office that looked like a throwback from the pony express. In that small of an environment, all the inhabitants knew EVERY detail of each other's lives.

In adulthood, I moved to California, the polar opposite environs. I'll never forget coming over the mountain from Nevada and getting my first glimpse of the millions of twinkling lights from the Sacramento area. It felt like I was free for the first time . . . no one would scrutinize or even care who I was. Yep, country girl became citified and it stuck. Well, except for my country girl sensibilities. Then I came back to my small town. I cannot imagine living in a big city again. San Francisco was fun to live in for awhile but there are just too many people and cars and too much noise. I like to hear silence, if possible, and I can get that where I am now.
PattiPatriciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11512099085568969698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8732262889492827338.post-71857954567026579832012-04-11T06:04:41.305-05:002012-04-11T06:04:41.305-05:00I am from California, but live in New Hampshire. ...I am from California, but live in New Hampshire. I think I would like my story to be in England, in the 1700s.
