For the first six months of this year I was lucky enough to be a member of a wonderful group of readers devoted to Avon Publishing. We got to read books from new Avon authors as well as some old favorites. This experience was very reader-centric and showed me again why I love Avon books.
My love for Avon books started in the 70's (yes, that long ago) with the reading of my first romance, The Flower and the Flame by Kathleen E Woodiwiss. These books were over-the-top melodramatic and exotic and I couldn't have loved them more. From there it was a binge of her other books which started me on my path to becoming a bookaholic. After reading all of Ms. Woodiwiss' books, the next author to truly grab me was Lorraine Heath. Her stories were far sweeping with a subtle way of writing that immerses you completely. From the Old West to Regency England she created many books that are among the first I recommend to those just starting to read romance. She's still writing today and is an auto-buy for me as I know I'll come away satisfied. The final Avon author that I credit my continuing love of Avon books to is Julia Quinn. Her effortless writing style with its witty dialogue and splashes of humor set mostly in Regency England are utterly delightful and have me counting down the days until her next new release.
These are just a few of Avon book's wonderful authors! There are many up-and-comers reminiscent of my favorites who continue to bring me to Avon books and have me excited for the future. If any of you are given the opportunity to become an Avon Addict jump at it as every month you'll discover why I still love Avon books and you will too!

Well, I have to say, Stephanie Laurens since she is one of the very first authors I ever wrote a real letter to and she responded. And we aren't even mentioning those dashing Cynsters. :)

Just hopping by to support a fellow Addict! Terrific post :) I belong to a romance reading book group, and we realized we ALL got hooked on romances by reading Kathleen E Woodiwiss (at far too young an age, perhaps!). For me now, it's either Gaelen Foley, Sarah MacLean or Loretta Chase.
ReplyDeleteLynsay Sands would have to be my favorite Avon author. Thanks so much for this giveaway.
