I’ve lied to myself for years about being in love with my best friend.
Everly Bowman and I don’t make sense. She’s sunshine personified and I hate everyone. Well, everyone but her. It’s been easy to keep up the farce and pretend like she isn’t my whole world. Or it was until she needs a place to stay, and my apartment is her only option.Suddenly, she's everywhere I turn. Even her scent is branded into my sheets. And thanks to our unofficial romance book club, I’ve also amassed an encyclopedia titled Everly’s Pleasure Buttons. Each week, it gets harder to ignore how much I want to make her fantasies come true. Especially when we crawl into my bed every night.
But I won’t jeopardize what we have for anything, so I’m fine with lying to myself and pretending like I don’t dream of calling her mine.
At least, I was until I see her with him.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
From the moment I picked up this book I was in my happy place with themes that are among my favorites. I absolutely adore romances of friends to lovers, of roommates to lovers, with interactions that crackle...and this book definitely delivers all that and more! As these two apparent opposites spend more and more time together readers will find themselves captivated by the delightful romance slowly but surely building between them, while rooting them on every step of the way.
Everly is a breath of fresh air who brings happiness to everyone around her. She's a truly good soul and I wished nothing but good for her. She's not the kind of person to make herself happy though, constantly pushed by her parents to live life as they want her to. When she finally has the chance to make herself happy I couldn't have been more delighted and cheered her on as she and Beck took their connection to the next level.
Beck's described as grumpy but I found him endearing and the quintessential book boyfriend, a man with a sweet and cuddly underbelly. He might be a bit standoffish, careful around others, but when it comes to Everly he's ready to do whatever she asks of him. He's protective of her, watches over her like a sexy Guardian Angel, and is her very willing companion when it comes to her romance book club. Add in his talent for dirty talk and you have a darn near perfect hero!
This book was a carefree read with a delightful romance and very little angst. The main couple were a wonderful pairing who slowly accepted what others knew all along...that they were meant to be together. The romance between Beck and Everly was sweet and sexy with crackling banter both in and out of the bedroom that made them believable as both friends and lovers. Surrounding this immensely appealing main couple were an equally entertaining cast of secondary characters, among them Beck's family with their playful banter and Everly's dog who was the cherry to this romantic sundae. With each turn of the page I fell more and more in love with these characters, and the town of Starlight Cove, and with the thoroughly enticing ending with Ford I'm left waiting with bated breath for a return to this world.
My rating for this is an A.

AUTHOR INFO:
Award-winning USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love—writing. She likes her books how she likes her tea—steamy and satisfying—and adores strong-willed heroines and the protective heroes who fall head over heels for them. Brighton lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—both taller than her—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it's mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible.
