Book Release Blast for The Bonds We Break by S. Cole (REVIEW)…..

It's a war between a Club President and the sister of a man believed to be a traitor that will captivate readers as matters of the heart come to the forefront in this sensual and suspenseful tale.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Bonds We Break by S. Cole, along with getting my impressions of this fourth installment in the Iron Outlaws MC series, then add it to your bookshelf!

Rae
When Uther "King" Hills, president of the Iron Outlaws MC, shows up at my home, I know it's for one thing. Revenge.
My life for my brother's, a traitor to the club.
My sacrifice to ensure his loyalty.
But I know a thing or two about tragic kings.
They never win.
What I didn't know was how they can steal your heart in the process of trying.
King
Rae Miller is my enemy's little sister.
And I intend to ruin her before I toss her back at her brother's feet.
Even as my actions tear my club apart.
Except this Shakespeare-quoting fire-cracker has me seeing ghosts.
I don't scare her. She outwits me at every turn and has a body I can't get enough of. The fact I want to kill every person who ever hurt her is irrelevant.
Only, when she's at risk because of me, I pray the bonds I've broken can mend themselves. Because without my club, we don't have a hope of surviving.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

It's another exhilarating and emotionally intense tale set in the MC world with S. Cole guiding readers down the highway of life.  From the very first page events show themselves to be raw and gritty as punishment is doled out for a man thought to be a traitor.  The fallout from that belief is huge though when the lives of the club president and the perceived traitor's sister are changed dramatically as anger, revenge, and past pain all meet in a connection between two apparent opposites that becomes unforgettable.  Action in and out of the bedroom, secrets and lies...it all adds up to a story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats and rooting for this larger than life pair to find some sort of HEA.

At the start of this story Club President King is clearly reeling from his brother's decision to save the perceived traitor.  Already feeling unworthy of the title of president it's an extra blow to his ego for his brother's to go against him which leads to a life-altering decision of holding Rae Miller as collateral to keep her brother in line.  Theirs is a combustible connection from the very start as she's one to rely on her brains while he relies on his brawn in a dark, yet sensual battle of wills that ultimately becomes something more.  Both have been hurt by their pasts, both have experienced pain that has led to big walls enclosing their hearts.  These are not warm and fuzzy folks, but they are people who devote themselves wholeheartedly to what they believe in.  As a psychologist, Rae works on people's minds and emotions and it becomes an all-out war with King early on as she flexes her mental strength.  I loved her tough exterior, her ability to wield words like a weapon, and she's a heroine I found easy to relate to. King's more accustomed to demanding and giving subtle threats though which surrounded him with an air of danger.  He exuded strength but it was his vulnerabilities that really drew me to him as the weight of the presidency is becoming an anchor full of contradictions.  Seeing them was like watching a powder keg getting ready to explode and I found myself frantically turning the pages to see where things would go for them next.  Over time though their emotional walls came down and a formidable pairing was created.  We (and they) discovered their true selves in a hard-fought journey that displayed a perfectly imperfect couple whose rocky journey captivated me.  Seeing them together pulled at my heartstrings, brought out a tear or two, along with numerous blushes courtesy of King's oh so delightful talent for dirty talking.

The Iron Outlaws series continues to set fire to my bookshelves with storylines that don't pull any punches.  These MC romances are dark and gritty, pushing boundaries while setting itself apart from the rest of the genre.  The next installment looks to be equally unforgettable with a male lead with anger issues of his own and an epilogue that has left me thoroughly tantalized to see what happens with Niro next.

My rating for this is an A.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Many of the tropes fueling this dark contemporary romance are among my favorites.  From the ugly duckling to the glamour gal, from being a best friend to wanting to be more, and from an unrequited love that gets a second chance to find HEA...this is one storyline-heavy book that puts readers through the emotional wringer!  Multiple POVs, conflicted feelings leading to hurtful exchanges, and edge of your seat action will keep readers breathless and holding their breaths with each turn of the page.  There's so much going on throughout this book that it can get a bit overwhelming at times.  Some areas are given big chunks of storyline whereas others got a bit shortchanged, but things never got boring.

With this being the debut novel of Ms. Diamond, I commend her on crafting such an exhilarating romance that held readers captive.  The heroine may have started out as Plain Jaine but ten years away from her childhood town see her dramatically changed.  Jaine has become quite the badass after her love for Ace resulted in disappointment ten years before and readers get a lot of insight into her character as the story progressed.  Her love for Ace was tarnished long ago but the feelings never completely died despite becoming involved with other men inhabiting the brutal Mafia/MC world.  It's all led her back to Ace though in a romance full of push/pull, steamy interludes, and moments of frustration as the past interferes with the future.

The action is exciting and the characters are larger than life.  Jaine is fully fleshed-out but less time is given to Ace which made him look a bit weaker than the other men in Jaine's life in my eyes.  That's not to say that he's not a drool-worthy hero...because he is.  But rather, I found myself COMPLETELY obsessed by the glimpses of Padraig and Razr and am breathlessly awaiting getting to see more of them again.  On a whole Ms. Diamond has crafted a gritty tale full of raw emotions and even more raw dialogue (a bit too raw at times) that pulls you in wholeheartedly.  You'll cry, you'll find yourself blushing, all while racing towards a conclusion that will leave you screaming.  Fans of MC romances will find this an entertaining read, slightly flawed but satisfying for a series starter nonetheless!

My rating for this is a B.

EXCERPT:

The elevator door opened, and she stepped out and moved toward her room. Her fingers shook as she pulled her little metal key from her little handbag. This hotel still used metal keys, it was quaint. Henry reached down and plucked the key from her hand. He lifted her hand and kissed her fingers. "I'll protect you."
She swallowed the lump that sat in her throat. He'd protect her. When had anyone ever said that to her? The answer was never. Never in her life did another human being tell her they’d protect her.
Her lips quivered. "Thank you."

From New York Times bestselling author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a new immortal series filled with dark humor, angst, and a brooding hero who loves a good tweed: The Immortal Tailor.
THE IMMORTAL WORLD IS IN TROUBLE, AND THE GODS DEMAND...THEIR TAILOR COME TO THE RESCUE?
Long ago, Damien Greystone hung up his guns, knives, and rope for the quiet life of a tailor. Sure, his clients now include the likes of bloodthirsty vampires, a hair-obsessed Bigfoot, and fourteen insane deities, but at least Damien doesn’t have to kill anymore. And, sure, he’s been cursed to live alone for all eternity, but nobody’s life is perfect. Right?
Unfortunately, his monk-like existence is about to come to a screeching halt. The gods’ powers are on the fritz, and they’re demanding his help.
But when Damien starts investigating, he meets Sky Morales, a beautiful journalist who’s up to her ears in danger (and one very aggressive fairy). He has no choice but to dust off his weapons.
Can he protect her without getting too close? Because his “curse of solitude” doesn’t negotiate, and bad things will happen to Sky if he so much as feels a flutter of affection.
And as if that pressure weren’t enough, his precious store is being looked after by a love-sucking demon and a punk chick who has a knack for insulting everyone. Bigfoot isn’t pleased.
The sooner Damien can get this job done, the faster he can get back to his peaceful life. If only he weren’t enjoying getting his hands dirty again. Just like the good old days that got him in trouble.

EXCERPT:

“I don’t want to talk about it.” The fairy turned away and looked out the window.
He cocked a brow. “Did something frighten you? You mentioned before in the bathroom that
you did not want to be taken back.”
She clamped her little red lips shut and crossed her sparkly pale arms, refusing to look at him.
“If you tell me what is going on, perhaps I can help.” A lie. He did not care what happened to her. He cared for no one. It was for their own good, of course.
She sighed with an odd little peep at the end and looked at him. “I was in her purse when I thought I heard him.”
Damien frowned. “Him who?”
“One of the Brown brothers.”
The Brown brothers were the men who owned the exotic salsa company in San Diego. “One of the brothers was there at the mall that day?”
“Yes. No. Maybe? Oh! You have nice lips. Very pouty. Can I play in your mouth?”
“No.”
“How about a taint massage?” She wiggled her little finger at him in a scratching motion. Gods help me. Sex fairies were known to be easily distracted and wildly horny, but this one seemed a bit much. He needed to get the info and send her on her way. “You are not getting anywhere near my taint. Now tell me why you attacked—”
“I meant my taint.”

Book Tour for Detroit by Sadie Rose (REVIEW)……

Fans of the Mystic Venom MC series will rejoice with this tale of second chances and starting over.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Detroit by Sadie Rose, along with getting my impressions of it, then add it to your bookshelf!

How does the saying go? The past always comes back to haunt you? Detroit knows what it's like to be haunted by the past - and how to run from it. But not all hauntings are bad; sometimes you have to face the past to see your future.

BUY AT AMAZON here.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Fans of MC romances will find this a quick and decadent appetizer, a story of second chances that ends before it's barely begun.  Diving once again into the Mystic Venom MC, readers get to see new brother Detroit get patched in and become a member to a new family.  He's never forgotten the one who got away though and in this story they have a scorching reunion that leaves you wanting more.

While much about this is cookie cutter, the characters are likable with a connection that flows beautifully, one of tantalizing and unrequited emotions.  With each turn of the page Detroit and Viv are a combustible coupling, scorching up a whole chapter, and it has me hoping to see more of them in the future to tie up their HEA a bit tighter.  On a whole this was a satisfying but sinfully short read that is a pleasant addition to the Mystic Venom series!

My rating for this is a B-

EXCERPT:

Plant Shop
I went to a plant shop with my family/friend,
And knocked things over like a freight truck making a tight turn,
In the shop with candles and glass things and books propped on spindly legged tables, You’d wonder why I was so concerned,
Of course something would fall! —But no.
I’m not usually this uncoordinated,
And compared to the family/friend I brought along,
The person my family doesn’t trust with any drink without a cap,
Who was suddenly surefooted in contrast to me,
And as lithe as sun-basking deer.
The reason for my klutziness I realized as we left,
Was I had a crush on the person behind the counter.
And when I asked them to make a cactus and succulent array, Maybe it was an apology for my prudence and an excuse to stay. In the general area, while they made me my pot,

I knocked over dirt after the candles, I knocked over a lot.
When I spilled all those candles onto the ground,
The most upsetting thing was that they weren’t even around!
I’d never been that clumsy, I didn’t think,
Shatter glass, spill dirt,
Then I turn pink,
When they’re there and they smile at me.
Of course, I offered to pay—
They declined the offer, smiling.
Wait, isn’t that the American way?
But in Europe they don’t do that, the store writes it off as tax.
I wish I had known that before I let my companion assure me that I didn’t need to To make me relax.
Is it desperate to ponder if they had let me pass free,
Because they were actually attracted to me?
Their coworker looked peeved,
No—outright upset.
But they smiled perhaps dissimilar to anyone I’ve met.
I mentioned the dorms; they knew I wasn’t twelve.
They must have assumed I was a lesbian like everyone else.
I know they assumed this of me because of a conversation after, Where my family/friend said to me that they hadn’t even asked her— They had told her that we made a great couple.
I didn’t ask of course, but based on the conversation’s context, It seemed clear my companion didn’t correct them.
Why didn’t she correct them? Maybe it didn’t feel right,
When we spilled in their store and made their shift tight,
With cleaning up the glass and the bits of dirt
That I left in my wake when I turned my metaphorical skirt To the door with my cactus in hand.
I don’t claim to know their pronoun,
I’d never just assume,
But they could quite possibly have been a lesbian too.
And in that case, maybe I would dare to be a lesbian for a day. Or is that too self-destructive to muse then to say?
Now I stare at the wall,
Placidly daydreaming,
Of a date we might have had,
Or a life with some meaning.
Maybe I’m just depressed,
Or it’s just PMS,
But I consider a life that isn’t such a stagnant mess. No pandemic—I’m in college,
Surrounded by peers,
And I’m not suffering from the loneliness,
That makes minutes feel like years.
And my family/friend keeps laughing, About the stuff that I spilled,
In the store with my crush,
Where I can’t hope to rebuild,
A relationship with them because they think I’m a double—not single—lesbian.

Having started writing “seriously” as an ignorant fourteen-year-old, Echo has progressed in his writing and editing skills since finding the inspiration in middle school. His whole life, his imagination has always driven him in the creative writing and arts fields. The imagination of childhood has never left him but has evolved into something malleable to his career and tolerable in his vocabulary and sentence structure. Echo’s writing and other creative endeavors have deep relevance to his personal life, as his characters, world and themes always reflect aspects of his personality and identity in ways that may go beyond the average reader’s comprehension. Often writers add elements of themselves to their characters, as it is easier to write what we know, but Echo goes beyond that in exploring deeply sentimental to traumatic elements in his life as a form of therapy for himself and others tackling similar internal conflicts. As a trans masc, nonbinary, pansexual man discovering his identity in the middle of a pandemic, his writing also acts as a way of exploring himself deeper as well as dealing with mental health issues he has been struggling with his whole life. Writing is both deeply personal for him and also something he has always wanted to share with the world. He feels emotions are better told then hidden and that building a community is extremely important to recovery and rejuvenation.

Book Tour for When I Look In the Mirror by Tanith Davenport (GIVEAWAY)…….

Giving a big welcome to Ms. Davenport with the question…..What sets the paranormal romances that I write apart from the rest of the genre?
I love paranormal romance and always have. In a world where evidence of the paranormal is nebulous at best, I love to create a world where we have ghosts, werewolves, vampires and all other possible beings – including angels and demons. You can have almost anything happen in a paranormal romance, which means I can let my imagination run riot, and I love that.
I’ve dealt with ghosts, trolls and vardogers in the past, but I was new to the angel genre, although I had read a few in the past. When I write paranormal romance I always try to put a new spin on it, so I avoided reading any new angel/demon romance so that I wouldn’t be influenced by other writers. I do my best to come up with a unique storyline before I start writing so that it will stand out amidst the other books, since this is a crowded genre and it’s not easy to do.
Also, while in erotic romance the sex is an intrinsic part of the plot, I try to make sure there are plot elements that don’t rest entirely on the sex. I’ve seen reviewers in the past complain that there’s too much sex and not enough story in some books, and while I’m not convinced I agree with that complaint (I’ve never had a problem with a lot of sex in a book) I do my best to have enough plot that can keep people with those preferences happy. I like to have a healthy balance of the paranormal and hot sex, and hopefully that will suit everyone.
I had great fun writing “When I Look In The Mirror” – Tatum and Zack were amazing characters to write and I loved Dante as an antagonist. I hope everyone else enjoys it too!

When hairdresser Tatum Fox takes part in a séance at a party, her only thought is of the attractive man sitting beside her, the mysterious Zack, who appears in her dreams that night and who she hopes to see again. However, when she begins to experience paranormal activity and finds herself confronted by an unnerving client at work, she discovers that the séance summoned a demon – and Zack may be the only person who can free her of him.
Zack reveals himself to be an angel, and shows Tatum that she also has the power to battle supernatural creatures – a power that is increased through sex with him. Their connection soon strengthens, but is Tatum strong enough to defeat the demon with Zack by her side – and can there be a future with an angel, or is their passion doomed to end?

EXCERPT:

“What you saw wasn’t in your head. It was real.”
“What are you talking about? I saw Dante turning into a—into I don’t know what. How could that be real?”
Zack sighed, taking her hand. “Listen. There are things in this world you don’t understand. And Dante is one of them.”
Tatum gave him a look. Seriously?
“This stays between us.” Zack gently took her chin in his hand, tilting her head up to look at her directly, and then...
A sudden glittering haze seemed to surround them, and Zack’s eyes glowed white. “What the—”
“Shh.” Zack held her still as the glitter dissipated, his eyes returning to normal. “Like I said, there are things you don’t understand. Not yet.”
“And you’re one of them? What are you?”
“You don’t need to worry about me. Worry about Dante.”
“And what’s Dante?”
Zack’s thumb caressed her cheek. “Dante is a demon.”
A demon. The idea would have seemed impossible that morning, and yet now it was somehow believable. Dante, who had given her the creeps since she first met him, who she had seen turning into a hideous creature in the mirror, was a demon.
“How do you know? Ezer has known him ages and never picked up—this.”
Zack rolled his eyes. “Ezer is great, but he’s not the kind of person to pick this up. I only invited him to see if he might have that power—he doesn’t. His senses are dead in the water.”
“And mine?”
“Besides...” Zack continued as though she hadn’t spoken. “Dante wasn’t always a demon. Remember Nicole’s party? That was when it happened. He’s been taken over.”

Turns out the gorgeous woman I had a one-night stand with is not only my sister’s best friend but also my new employee.
Worse? I shared a whole lot more with Avery than one mind-blowing night. I told her my deepest, darkest secret.
Despite my constant worry that she’ll let the truth slip to my family, I can’t stay away from her. And when we’re tossed together for an out of town trip and forced to share a room with only one bed, the chemistry between us finally explodes...again.
I have no problem making her see stars—or breaking the bed. The trouble is, the longer our secret relationship goes on, the more I want to keep her.
But she’s eight years my junior, the sunshine to my grump, and I know her free spirit wants more than the small town of Starlight Cove can offer.
I have no doubt no one will ever give her more pleasure than I will, but I refuse to hold her back. Even if that means letting her go when her three month contract is up.

AUTHOR INFO:

Award-winning USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love—writing. She likes her books how she likes her tea—steamy and satisfying—and adores strong-willed heroines and the protective heroes who fall head over heels for them. Brighton lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—both taller than her—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it's mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible.

Book Release Blast for Legacy by Marie James (REVIEW)……

An unconventional promise leads to an unforgettable romance between two people brought together through their mutual loss and pain.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Legacy by Marie James, along with getting my impressions of it, then add this 28th installment in the Cerberus MC series to your bookshelf too!

I never expected to see her again.
The connection we shared through her brother was severed when he died in combat.
Their parents were adamant that I never reach out to them again.
I forgot about the pact I made, my promise to make her mine if I wasn’t married by thirty.
The only answer I had for her when she showed up with that handwritten note was no.
Only Devyn Malloy isn’t the type to take no for an answer.
Cerberus welcomed her with open arms, but as that became enough for her, I realized it might not be enough for me...

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Twenty eight installments and still going strong!  Whenever I need a sweet and sensual tale I know that the Cerberus MC will give me just that in a reliably entertaining story.  And that is definitely what readers will get with this standalone story of loss and finding love and happiness when you least expect it.  With each turn of the page readers will be charmed by this slow-burn romance based on a promise to the sister of a best friend, a promise that eventually becomes a lifeline to reaching a dream and getting a HEA.

Emmett “Legacy” Wilson always knew he was destined to be a Marine.  Too bad that once he joined up things didn't go as planned.  With the painful death of his best friend, who joined because of their friendship, Legacy was left adrift and feeling guilty.  Because of the death he's further banished from being part of his friend's family, instead becoming a part of the Cerberus MC.  Years later though there's a blast from the past courtesy of his friend's little sister and the endearing promise he made her years ago...a promise that's now a lifeline for her.  Coming face to face with the young girl he feels obligated to rouses all sorts of feelings within him, feelings of attraction and guilt just a few of those feelings in a slow and steady journey to HEA.  Legacy's a likable hero with an endearing sense of honor.  My heart hurt for him as he dealt with the loss of his friend, cut off from those most likely to help him heal.  Upon seeing Devyn he immediately felt unworthy of her, saw all the reasons they shouldn't be together, but her determination fueled their journey to HEA.

Devyn Malloy also suffered much when her brother died.  She became nothing but a ghost in the eyes of her parents as everything was always about their son.  They took care of her basic needs but none of her emotional ones.  For years she puts up with being a shadow but the moment she decides to grab something for herself, her parents kick her out and try to derail her dream of becoming a fashion designer.  Devyn thankfully remembers a long ago promise that has Legacy (and the Cerberus MC) acting as a safe haven where she finally starts to feel loved, acknowledged, and supported.  Devyn's a likable heroine with a surprising sense of maturity.  She might be 18 in years, but her actions and decisions speak of someone much older.  Devyn's a determined young woman, determined in her choice of careers, and in claiming the man she's always been drawn to in a slow-burn romance I was cheering for every step of the way.

This was a sweet, sentimental, and sensual second chance romance that warmed my heart while slowly building and becoming more richly rewarding.  The connection between Legacy and Devyn also evolved into something more emotional, something that acted as a healing balm to them both after their mutual loss.  The Cerberus MC once again offered solid support, giving Devyn a sense of family that she's been missing.  Old faces, along with a few new ones, has me looking forward to what comes next courtesy of this unconventional family.

My rating for this is a B+
