Book Tour for Darkest Kiss, Darkest Bliss by Azura Ice (Guest Post & GIVEAWAY)

Woot! Happy Tuesday to all!

If you’re not familiar with my name or work, I write under several pen names—F.L. Bicknell, Molly Diamond, and Azura Ice for pure heterosexual romance and a li’l m/m romance. I also write mostly m/m romance for specific publishers, and those names are Amber Redd and Cutter Phoenix.

How do I keep up with the pen names and all my work? [shrug] I get that question a lot and to answer it: I haven’t a clue, lol.

Another frequent question I hear: How do you come up with some of the wild and/or hilarious scenes in your books?

Many of the humorous and even sometimes freaky scenes come from things that have truly happened to me or someone in my immediate family. I write a lot of paranormal romance and although it’s difficult for many readers to believe, I’ve lived in two haunted houses and next to a forest that had things about it that scared the bejeezus out of me and the rest of the family on a regular basis. Needless to say, I draw a lot of inspiration from those places.

However, as for the humor in my books, part of that is my smarta**ed mouth, lol. I rip things off the top of my head all the time, and part of it is my goofy kin, especially my two teen daughters.

Point in case...the other day the oldest dau and I took the youngest homecoming dress shopping. Once we found the perfect dress (do not look at the price tag, do not look at the price tag, do not look...), we went to an outlet store to find a pair of heels to go with it. If you’re familiar with the store, Gabriel Brothers, you know you can get designer shoes for dirt cheap prices, so shoe shopping there is like taking a five year old to the best candy shop in town and letting him get whatever he wants.

Well, the youngest found a pair of hot neon pink platform heels with a snakeskin pattern. Yeah, yeah, I know. Nearly every person reading this thought, “Eew!” or “OMG, no!” Well, so did I when I first saw them, but the youngest is one of those girls who can rock just about any outfit or footwear—and she did.

Then the oldest dau, who had her two babies with her, tried them on next. Standing by the shopping cart, she set the platforms on the floor and prepared to try them on. I grimaced, sensing disaster on the horizon.

And I was right.

She slipped her flip flops off, stepped in one heel and then raised her other foot to put it in the other shoe, thinking she had her first foot IN the first shoe. The platform scooted forward and then flipped over. She squealed and grabbed the cart, yanking it backward. Both babies wore holy-crap-Mom’s-flipping-out expressions. Losing her balance, the oldest dau crashed and burned in the middle of the aisle.

“Are you okay?” I asked, trying so hard not to crack up.

“I hurt two of my toes, but I’m fine.”

“Well, at least when you go down you go down in a blaze of glory.” And then I laughed my butt off. I laughed so hard I had tears running.

So incidences like this one often end up in my books.

But what about the paranormal I mentioned? My recent release, Darkest Kiss, Darkest Bliss oozes the paranormal with a teaspoon of fantasy. Deirdre lives in the Appalachians just like I do, and she lives next to a wooded area that seems to have dark, esoteric secrets. And there’s someone living in her home who isn’t really a live resident there...

Deirdre’s husband has her wondering if he’s messing around behind her back. When it’s all said and done, she finds help that’s a mix of the paranormal, some magic, and just a li’l dash of creepy to solve her problem.

Oh, and did I mention that there a couple of volcanic-hot scenes?

Tomorrow, I’ll share more on the paranormal and where I get my inspiration and information from, so keep following me on my tour!

Deirdre loves Malachi, but the warning about his wandering heart has come true.

Shoved into a situation that tears Deirdre apart, she prays her suspicions about her husband are wrong. Glimpses of a powerful, handsome black man tantalize her, and his deep voice comes to her at unexpected times. Who is this stranger and how does he seem to always know when she needs him? The more Malachi follows his wandering heart, the more Deirdre finds herself drawn to her ghostly companion.

Soon it’s clear her husband has no intention of rectifying his playboy ways, so Deirdre turns to her grandmother’s book of Voodoo and faerie magic for help. Can she summon the power to keep Malachi with her…or will true love and magic from long ago release a new and powerful love?

  3. Hi Jessica and Kissa! Thank you for visiting and reading.

I have to say me and my girls are all klutzes. If I had a dollar for every time I've tripped, fell, or done some other goofiness out in public I'd be a rich woman, lmao!

  4. I empathize with the eldest. High heels and I are definitely not friends. :)

  5. OMG! I would have pissed myself laughing. Glad she's not hurt though. DId you ever buy the shoes?

I love humour in books, especially when they touch on a darker side. I'm a true believer, as you know and have lived in a haunted house as well. It definitely gives you inspiration to write.

Your books sounds right up my alley. Can;t wait to read it.

  6. Hi Heather! My youngest dau feels the same way but she's determined to learn how to walk comfortably in heels. She is an aspiring model, but I think she's changed her mind about that since I showed her a photographer's website where he talked about how hard modeling is nowadays.

Shiela, we didn't buy the shoes. She has a lot of clothes, but nothing to go with hot neon pink snakeskin, roflmao!!! Yes, that's what the platform heels looked like!

  7. That is hilarious! I wore pink snakeskin heels to my bro's wedding. (I think it was that.) The bridesmaid dress was a dusty rose. They weren't neon, though. Wait, it might have been my maid of honor dress for my college roommate's wedding. The all blend together after awhile!

  8. Thanks for the laugh Faith, I needed it after the day/week we've been having at work... Glad eldest didn't hurt herself and even if youngest didn't buy the pink snakeskin, did she get something else? Glad that grandbabies didn't get overturned with mama's fall :-) That is something I could see happening in our family so easily.

    Have a good one.

  10. Hi Amelia! Yes, the dau got a lovely pair of black brushed suede heels with a twisted bow of sorts on the toes. They shoes looked great with her homecoming gown.

Morning, Natasha! Thank you for stopping by!

  11. Great post! I don't write the same genre as you but it's nice to know someone else who writes under more than one name successfully! :D

  12. Great to see you here! Sometimes managing more than one pen name can be a challenge, tho.

  13. AHA! So that's why the reviews of the chapters of that un-named book are so funny! YOU are Molly Diamond? Face-palm. Who knew? I feel so out-of-the-loop!

One pen-name is hard enough for me to remember! More than that and I'd feel even more schizo than I already do, what with the voices in my head always demanding that I listen to them and write their stories!

  14. Congrats on the book! Nice post.
