He studied her, doing his best to keep his expression relaxed. God, she was sexy.
She was no more than five foot five but projected a confidence taller than that. Her long sable hair was scraped back from her face, accentuating high cheekbones, a smooth, curved forehead and expressively straight eyebrows. Her blue eyes flashed with challenge, the thick dark lashes framing them only serving to emphasize how direct and blue they were. She had a tiny overbite Josh found utterly sensual, and her pink-glossed lips were full. Man, what would those lips feel like moving against his.
The Iron Man shirt, jeans and flat-heeled boots did nothing to hide the lush curves of her body, a body his body was already eagerly responding to. And no matter how many times she pushed her hands to her hips or jutted out her chin in challenging aggression, he couldn’t help but notice how full her breasts were, how round her hips, how narrow her waist.
A little bundle of feisty ferocity and indignant conceit all wrapped up in an exquisite vision of feminine beauty. It was incredible to behold. Powerful and almost mesmerizing. Alluring was another word that came to Josh’s mind.
Vixen was another.
As was seductress.
And imposing.
Liev had told him she was a tad full of herself. Establishing the hottest, most successful nightclub in Sydney at the age of twenty-four would do that to a person, let alone a slip of a girl. As would maintaining that club’s popularity for three straight years running without fail. Liev was proud of his niece and rightly so. Josh was already in lust with her.
Now to get her into his bed.
Naked.
“Okay, Uncle L,” he heard her say into his phone with an unreadable expression as she studied him back. “If you say so.” She snorted. “Of course I don’t want to. I do have a—” She closed her eyes and shook her head, exasperated frustration flickering over her beautiful face. “Yeah, I know. Okay. Yeah. Sure. Love you. Give Chris my best.”
She ended the call with a jab of her thumb and, with a curious—or was that cautious—frown, held his phone out to him.
He grinned at her. “Told you.”
“Yeah, yeah, you’re awesome,” she said, her tone somewhere between sarcasm and humour. Josh couldn’t tell if she was trying to regroup or genuinely felt het up atwho he and Rhys were. “Welcome to the Chaos Room. We’re honoured to have you here.”
“Who wouldn’t be?” Rhys crowed at Josh’s side. For a second, Josh wanted to kick him.
Caitlin arched an eyebrow that spoke volumes at Rhys. What those volumes were, Josh wasn’t sure, but he suspected it had something to do with smug soccer players thinking they were all that and then some. “Please,” she went on, her voice a modulated calm, “tell Mandy or Zach at the bar all your drinks are on the house tonight.”
And with that, she turned and hurried back to the Chaos Room, hips swaying in such a natural, confident way Josh had a hard time not staring at them.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
Caitlin is a strong-willed woman very rough around the edges and living at a standstill. She's dealing with loss and guilt from other's expectations and not allowing herself happiness or the right to move on from the past. She's closed herself off and is angry at Josh for trying to get past her emotional barriers. She's drawn to him though and is at war with herself over the feelings he engenders. Their relationship starts off playfully with him surprising her by not living up to stereotypes. From the moment they meet the connection between them teems with sexual tension and witty and sensual banter. Their scenes crackled and I enjoyed seeing her come to life in Josh's presence. Their relationship doesn't progress smoothly though as the past comes back to wreck the happiness she's just discovered with Josh.
Theirs is a journey full of heartbreak that ultimately becomes stronger for all the sacrifices they both made. I enjoyed seeing the evolution of their relationship from playful friends to steamy sexual playmates to lost lovers struggling towards their HEA. The twists in this story were heartbreaking and believably depicted. Caitlin is loyal to those she cares about so I can understand why she stood by her past and it made me like her even more because of it. This story nicely balanced intense emotions with super steamy sexual interludes. It made for a beautifully flowing story that kept me fully engrossed from beginning to end. Along with a compelling main couple is a wonderful cast of secondary characters that all work in subtle ways to bring Josh and Caitlin together. I especially loved Rhys and the much-needed humor he brought to the story as well as being the impetus for Josh realizing that being single is lonely. I'd love to see more of him as he left a sexy lasting impression on me. This was a perfect addition to a well-written series that pushed all my buttons and took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. The characters were larger than life but believable in their actions and there's an overall feeling of family seeing them interact. Those who haven't read the series though will have no problem getting caught up in this story. Ms. Couper once again puts her talent on display by creating a story that put a smile on my face one moment, made me blush in the next, only to break my heart before putting it back together with a big bow at the end. If you haven't read her yet then this book and the rest of the Heart of Fame series is a great place to start!
