It took me a season to destroy my career and now I have to work to repair it.
Step 1: Get clean.
Step 2: Show my new team that their investment isn’t a waste.
Step 3: Find a woman and convince her to be my fake girlfriend and make my mom happy. 1 and 2, I got a handle on. Step 3 is turning out to be a lot harder than I thought
Finding a woman was a piece of cake, convincing her is a different story. Jen Zaragosa is hardheaded, feisty, and a pain in my behind.

I call on the fates to bring my love to me. As I will it, so mote it be...
What if those simple words plus a name on a scroll could guarantee true love? The moment Mandy meets Jack, she knows he’s the one. Tall, dark, handsome and those tattoos...He’s quiet, smart and brooding, too. She wants to run her hands all over his body and taste his kiss. What’s a girl to do? Turn to the Summon a Bad Boy spell and take a cooking class with him? Mix a bad boy with some magic and have faith. Anything’s possible, and Mandy won’t stop until she gets her man.

She flinched, then put the stick of deodorant down. “Sorry. You startled me. Was lost in my thoughts.” She faced the man speaking to her. Jack clasped his hands together and the lopsided half-smile curled on his lips. “Jack.”
“I didn’t mean to scare you. You looked like you were in the groove.” He remained in his place. “How are you?”
“I’m good.” She leaned her elbow on the box and turned her full attention to him. “You found me.”
“You mentioned the store,” he said.

“I did.” He’d been listening? Nice. “How are you? Did you have a long night?”
“Long enough,” he said. “Didn’t have to throw anyone out.”
“That’s a plus.” She wasn’t sure what to do with her hands. Part of her wanted to reach out to him. The rest of her had to remember she was in public and at work. “Are you shopping? Can I help you find something? We just put a bunch of new stock on the shelves. I can help you if you’d like.” She needed to stop talking. “Sorry.”
“I don’t always know when to stop while I’m ahead.” She cleared her voice to sort herself out. “May I help you find something?”
“Not exactly.” He squeezed his fingers. “I have a question.”
“Sure.” She stood upright and tucked her hands into the front of her smock. “What can I do for you?”
He sighed and his fingers trembled. “I signed up for a cooking class tonight.”
“Very nice. I’d love to try those. I’m a terrible cook, but I’ve never been brave enough to sign up for a class,” she said. “What are you going to learn to make?”
He tensed, but dipped his head slightly. “Salmon steaks and roasted potatoes.”
Her stomach rumbled. She hadn’t realized she was hungry until now. “Sounds delicious.”
“It does.” He squeezed his fingers again. “Would you like to join me?”
“At the class?” She hesitated. It almost sounded like he’d asked her out on a date. Sort of. “Tonight?”
“If you’re busy, then don’t worry about it.” He closed his eyes. “It’s okay.”
“No, I’d like to go.” She touched his hand. The sparks shot from her fingers to her heart, then to her pussy. The man had a quiet strength and stability about him. “Sounds like a great time.”

Book Excerpt Reveal for Black Hearts by Tori Fox…….

An emotionally intense tale of friends to lovers set in the rockstar world becomes a gritty and gripping series starter that readers get a special excerpt of today.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Black Hearts by Tori Fox, then start counting down the days until this first installment in the Saints & Sinners series hits bookshelves on September 8th!

I’ve been in love with Charlie Fortier since we were seven years old and she punched me in the face for pulling on her pigtails.
She was the girl next door.
I was the punk ass kid who got in trouble.
She told me she loved me when she was seventeen. I broke her heart instead.
Then I left. And my band became one of the biggest in the world.
She was always around. On the sidelines. Being my friend.
And I’ve spent the last twelve years in love with her. She just doesn’t know.
But I can’t tell her. Because I can’t be with her.
I made too many deals to keep her safe.
I owe too many debts for those same reasons.
Now I'm back home. And she is everywhere. Staying away is too hard. But the truth is harder.
I have scars on my black heart and they all belong to her.

I scribble away in my notebook. A jumble of words and feelings. Anger, fear, frustration, lust. I’ve never let my feelings get like this with Charlie before. Even when we dated for two months in high school. This is on an entirely different level. And I don’t know if it’s because of the raging jealousy in me or if it’s because spending time with her, the little that I have has knocked me into a time warp, into a place where Charlie was everything to me.
She fell asleep last night on my lap, halfway through the movie. I ran my fingers through her soft lilac hair as she snored softly on my thigh. It took every ounce of willpower I had not to let my dick come to life. I did let myself lean over and kiss her forehead, remembering what it was like to touch her body. But that was twelve years ago. We were kids on the verge of adulthood. And now she is like an entirely new work of art I want to explore.
I want to press my lips across her slender neck and down her clavicle. I want to lick between those perfect perky breasts and trace the lines of the tattoo I know she has there. I want to inhale the sweet, sweet smell of her and then devour her until she is crying my name.
She’s always been my Charlie. She always will be my Charlie.
Ever since we were kids riding bikes in the street. When I taught her how to skateboard and use a BB gun. She taught me about the beauty of words. And music, we discovered that together sitting underneath the stars on those humid nights when both of our parents were drunk or fighting and we wanted to drown out the sound. Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, Jawbreaker, Metallica, Primus, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam. All bands that flooded are headphones.
Then it all changed when her mom cheated on her dad then left him for Richard LeBlanc. Charlie was taken away from me, moved to an affluent side of Baton Rouge. Not that it stopped us from seeing each other. And eventually falling into something more than friendship.
But I fucked up any chance with her when I saved her by making a deal with her stepfather. And I would do it over and over again, if it meant she survived the shit he put her through. She has no idea what I did. How much it’s destroyed my life but I wanted her safe.
And with Elijah, she isn’t safe.
I carried her to my guest bedroom last night even though I wanted her in my bed. The only woman I’ve ever wanted in my bed.
Then I spent hours upstairs on the roof drinking, smoking, and writing. Years of words I left unsaid to her. I let my black heart crack. And left everything on pages of paper. Words crossed out and scribbled, the story of our life.

Book Tour for Let Me Love You by Scarlett Cole (REVIEW)…..

Readers looking for an epic friends to lovers romance will get all that and more with this final book in the Excess All Areas series.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Let Me Love You by Scarlett Cole, along with my impressions of it, which will have you wanting to add it to your bookshelf!

He's loved her forever. Now she's marrying another man.
The wedding plans are underway, and the Save the Date cards are sent. If only the man she was marrying was the man she loved with all her heart.
Being a contemporary woman in a traditional faith requires compromise. Being in love with her best friend, Sad Fridays’ guitarist, Ben King, the man who saved her years ago, is agony.
It’s official. He has ruined her for all other men.
When Ben receives his Save The Date card, he gets so drunk he falls off stage during their American breakthrough tour.
He’s loved Chaya for what feels like forever.
But her father made it crystal clear. Ben will never be the one for his daughter. Now she’s marrying another man, and Ben is beginning to wonder just when Chaya will realise it’s him she should be saying I do to.
When tragedy reunites them, Chaya is caught between her fiancé and her love. And it’s up to Ben to fight for Chaya or let her go forever.

The previous four books in this series have led us to this moment, laying the groundwork for this epic friends to lovers romance that will have you frequently reaching for the tissues...out of sadness and joy!  This is a tale full of intense emotions, a rollercoaster ride that breaks your heart before putting it back together.  It's a tale of friends and family and the profound effects they can have on a person's life.  It's also a tale of a love meant to be and a journey that was necessary to make that love all the richer for how hard the fight was to reach HEA.

Ben and Chaya have had an intense bond since he (literally) came to her rescue years ago, an unshakable bond that many around them didn’t understand but thought was romantic...though they always denied it.  The more time they spend together though, the more sharing of important life events, has the truth becoming more and more obvious to them...they're in love with their best friend!  This isn't an easy admission for either of them needless to say.  With her being Jewish her family expects her to marry within their faith and rockstar Ben is definitely not what her father wants for her.  For Ben, he just wants her to be happy.  And knowing how important her faith and her family is to her has him willing to step away from matter how much it kills him. With Chaya's wedding date to another man racing ever closer, feelings are fighting to get out and the power of love is in for the fight of a lifetime.

Ben King is a truly delicious hero, a truly sweet soul, with a tiny bit of naughty added in to make him pure perfection.  He's the heart and soul of the band, someone always there for others, and willing to sacrifice for their happiness.  He has the biggest heart and seeing what he's going through by not being able to claim Chaya completely...well, it broke MY heart.  Chaya Tobias is hurting too, despite being a bride-to-be.  She and Ben have had a profound connection for years, a bond that no one else can understand. That connection has evolved over the years as they went from friends and now to unrequited loves.  It's a truth she especially doesn't want to admit to as she desperately wants to make her family proud and marry a good Jewish man.  She doesn't want to lose her friend though, and the man who means everything to her, so with her wedding date getting closer she must decide who's happiness is more important...hers or her family's. It's a heart-wrenching debate as Ms. Cole realistically depicts the importance of the Jewish faith and how vital it is in how Chaya defines herself, the guilt she feels over possibly disappointing them.  But Ms. Cole has also given Chaya another family...the Sad Fridays family.  The members of this band are a close knit family (literally and figuratively) and their presence throughout this story brought comfort and joy to me and a strong support to Ben and Chaya as they navigated their feelings.  These secondary characters were a wonderful part of the story, giving me a sense of nostalgia as well as getting an update on where each couple is right now.  Seeing them made this an even stronger series-ender.  Amongst these secondary characters though, the highlight was definitely Nan, the matriarch and the glue holding all these unforgettable characters together.  She's full of words of wisdom and isn't afraid to share them when they're needed most.  She's reminiscent of Sophia Petrillo from The Golden Girls...and I loved her all the more because of it!

From start to finish this was a book of pure perfection, a friendship meant to be more, and a battle of the heart over familial expectations.  The main couple is immensely likable and you're definitely rooting them on every step of the way in a hard-fought HEA that was four books in the making.  The rock star world wasn't shown in the usual hedonistic light here.  Music had more of a bonding purpose here, a more poetic feel that brought these characters together as a family.  From the very start my heart was wholeheartedly invested in the outcome of this story and it didn't disappoint.  It's a beautifully crafted series-ender that I will reread often, whenever I want an entertaining and heartfelt rockstar romance, and I recommend it to all those looking for an epic romance full of heart and soul.

My rating for this is an A+

The tattoo across my right hip says it all really. A Life Less Ordinary. Inked by the amazingly talented Luke Wessman at the Wooster Street Social Club (a.k.a. New York Ink). Why is it important? Well, it sums up my view on life. That we should all aspire to live a life that is less boring, less predictable. Be bold, and do something amazing. I’ve made some crazy choices. I’ve been a car maker, a consultant, and even a senior executive at a large retailer running strategy. Born in England, spent time in the U.S. and Japan, before ending up in Canada where I met my own, personal hero – all six and a half feet of him. Both of us are scorpios! Yeah, I know! Should have checked the astrological signs earlier, but somehow it works for us. We have two amazing kids, who I either could never part with or could easily be convinced to sell on e-bay.
I’ve wanted to be a writer for a really long time. Check through my office cupboards or my computer and you’ll find half written stories and character descriptions everywhere. Now I'm getting the chance to follow that dream.

Book Tour for Charmed By the Player by Carina Rose (REVIEW)……

A memorable first meeting leads to a fun and flirty romance with a swoon-worthy hero and appealing heroine in a slow-burn journey to HEA.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Charmed By the Player by Carina Rose, along with getting my impressions of it, which will have you wanting to add this third installment in the Never Say Never Football Romance series to your bookshelf!

Things I hadn’t expected to happen on my birthday…
1. To go from brunette to orange when I was aiming for blonde.
2. To run into my ex and his new girlfriend, who happened to be sweeter than my favorite candy bar.
3. To literally collide with a wall of muscle belonging to Lucas Donovan, the extremely sexy cornerback on the Virginia Thunder.
Did I say collide? No, I didn’t just collide, I lingered. How could I not? The man smelled like a dream, felt like heaven, and looked like a Greek god. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought my best friend wished him for me when she helped me blow out my candles. She was all about me finding Mr. Right, except I’d never been lucky in love...nor was I looking.
And despite all of his wonderful attributes, Lucas wasn’t my type. So when he asked for my number, I declined. Why? Because I knew he had cleat chasers and numerous athletic supporters at his beck and call. Totally not my scene. Instead, I decided to chalk our encounter up to a perfect ending to a perfectly messed-up day.
Thinking I’d never see him again, I was shocked when he popped into my store to ask me out on a date. To say I was thrown a bit off - kilter would be an understatement. Maybe that was why I eventually accepted. Or it could be because I knew my best friend would disown me if I kept turning him down. Not to mention, the man had enough charm to fill my boutique and then some.
Finally happy, I figured my luck had changed. Maybe Lucas Donovan was my Mr. Right. But then my past slammed into my present. And all I wondered was what that meant for our future.

Not having read a book by Ms. Rose before I eagerly jumped into this one...and oh, what a delight I found it to be!  A charming first meeting, a drool-worthy hero, and an endearing heroine, all collide to make this a fun and flirty romance with a bit of steam and lots of heart and soul.  Readers will find this a delightful read with only a bit of bumpiness in an otherwise smile-inducing tale that had me eagerly turning the pages.

Lucas Donovan is a football god, both on and off the field, with men wanting to be him and women wanting him.  He's a man who has everything, a man used to getting whatever he wants with ease.  The moment he meets the woman with orange hair though everything changes.  He has to come up with a new game play with her as she's not the kind of woman to fall easily at his feet.  He soon becomes a man on a mission and is slow and steady in winning her over, showing support for her hat design business and appreciation of her talent...there's nothing sexier.  Every step of the way Lucas is a sweet and sexy hero, loving to his sister, more than what others think him to be as he's more than just a pretty face.  His words and deeds are what every woman wants when it comes to romance and when fate intervenes in their fragile, burgeoning romance he becomes the King of Grand Gestures in claiming Harley completely.

Harley Benson is still getting over her ex when she runs into a man who's going to change her life completely...even though she has no idea who he is at first.  Finding out who he is doesn't make her want him though as she thinks the football player is a player off the field too and ignores his efforts to get her to go out with least at first. After a slow burn build-up he finally proves himself to her, but just as she becomes willing to put her heart into his keeping, fate intervenes to leave her doubting herself once again in a charming and hard-fought journey to HEA.  Harley's a wonderful heroine, one who's very easy to relate to as her life is full of realistic hiccups that has her rolling with the punches.  She's kind hearted, immensely likable, and so worthy of someone as loving as Lucas.  I was definitely rooting for her every step of the way.

From the first page to the last this was a sweet and sensual journey full of witty banter and charming interludes.  I normally like my romances with more steam, but the slow-burn here worked completely for me.  The journey is what made this story such a delight and each word and deed coming from Lucas made this story better and better, so I found that I didn't miss the sizzle that much.  The speed bump to their happiness is one that is surprising and is luckily resolved without too much annoyance...and it allowed Lucas to once again show why he's the quintessential book boyfriend.  Along with a wonderful main couple was the equally wonderful Sophie, Harley's best friend and subtle matchmaker when it comes to the burgeoning couple.  She was a strong support to Harley and I found her to be someone I'd love to be friends with, someone I truly hope gets her own story one day.  Ms. Rose crafted a definite winner here and while this was my first book of hers it won't be the last!

My rating for this is an A-.

Book Tour for Never Look Back by A. L. Jackson (REVIEW & GIVEAWAY)…..

It's a love/hate connection between two people carrying lots of emotional baggage from the past in this sensual, second chance romance.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Never Look Back by A. L. Jackson, along with getting my impressions of this third installment in the Redemption Hills series, then add it to your bookshelf today.  In honor of this new release make sure to visit the link below for the chance to win an awesome reader pack too!

From NYT and USA Today bestselling author A.L. Jackson comes an enemies-to-lovers, close-proximity, second-chance romance...
Logan Lawson won me in a bet.
The second I saw him sitting at the illegal card table, I knew I was in trouble.
Years ago, he sealed my fate and condemned me to a life I didn’t want to lead.
Yet he’s filled with untamed fury and thirsting for vengeance against the husband I hate.
Aster Costa is everything I never should have wanted.
The second she showed with her pompous, prick of a husband, I should have gotten up and walked. But there’s no looking away from the woman who wrecked me.
Worse, I can’t stop myself from plotting to get her back.
I want nothing more than to be free of my husband.
I’m afraid Logan Lawson is the only one who can make that happen.
He might hate me for our past, but now it’s me on my knees begging for help.
Finding each other in the middle of it wasn’t supposed to be part of the bargain.
But once Logan touches me, I’m gone. A torch is rekindled. A fire is lit.
Aster Costa has always been mine.
And this time, no matter the cost, I won’t give her back...

As the third installment in the Redemption Hills series this was a romance that was a long time coming.  The epic love story of Logan Lawson and Aster Costa comes full circle here, reaching the HEA it should've reached years ago.  From the first page to the last readers will find themselves captivated by the love story that once was and the love story that is trying to be once again.

From previous books Logan always showed himself to be a fun-loving playboy, the sweet and charming uncle without a care in the least that's what he showed the world.  Behind that mask though is a man still longing for his first real love, resentment and anger still bubbling beneath the surface over all that tore him and his love apart. When he gets the chance to get her back in a poker game he jumps at the opportunity and from that moment on readers get to see a more serious and intense side to Logan. Here he's a man on a mission, a true protector determined to keep the woman who's always been his in his heart and soul.  Logan's truly swoon worthy through his sweet and sexy words and deeds and with each turn of the page I fell for him even more as he grabbed his second chance with both hands.

Aster's a woman determined to start over after years in a marriage and a life she wants no part of when readers see her at a poker game where she becomes the prize.  Seeing her one and only love gives her a ray of hope, a hope that she can leave all the ugliness behind that their years apart left her with.  Their road to HEA isn't an easy one though as it's full of angst and surprising twists and turns due to the past that refuses to let them go.  Aster's a likable heroine, one who's been through a lot but stayed strong. She's the perfect match for Logan as the connection between them practically jumped off the pages.

These two started out as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, meeting and planning a future together in secret.  It's heartbreaking to see the early days of their love, see their hope and brought a tear to my eye. Seeing them as adults you still see that hope and love, this time mixed in with steamy interludes.  These star-crossed lovers kept me glued to the pages, caught up in their angsty journey to HEA.  By the turn of the final page I'm left immensely satisfied and ready to start this series over again from the start as these three siblings are the quintessential book boyfriends.

My rating for this is an A.

Book Release Blast for Strange and Unusual by Lani Lynn Vale (REVIEW)…..

It's another epic read in a long list of emotionally intense romances set in the world of MCs.  In this new release a man burned by love, and swearing of women, finds himself drawn to his bakery's new hire and a woman with baggage of her own.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Strange and Unusual by Lani Lynn Vale, then get my impressions of this sixth installment in the Battle Crows MC series.

The moment he divorced his ex-wife, Jeremiah decided two things.
One, he would never, ever get into that kind of situation again—i.e., marriage.
Two, he would spend more time doing what he loved—baking, riding motorcycles, spending time with the Battle Crows MC, and getting some quiet time for just himself. Pretty much doing the things he enjoyed, that his ex-wife could no longer ruin.
And, months after his divorce was final, he’s held strong.
He hasn’t gotten entangled with a woman. He’s opened his own bakery. And he’s never been closer to his club.
It has to be why he allowed them to have a massive club party at his place, which became the cause of Gracelynn Barry entering his life.
If he’d known Gracie was going to be his employee, he definitely wouldn’t have slept with her.
Yet, there he is, in the middle of an interview, finding out not only was the woman he slept with the most viable applicant for a job he very much needed filled, but that she’d recently broken up with the man he loathed. The second reason he’d divorced his ex-wife. Erich. His ex-stepson.
To say life is simple for Jeremiah would be a joke of epic proportions.
It’s time for him to buckle up.

Silence can sometimes speak volumes and in this book it's what binds two bruised souls together as they find a bit of peace in a storm of rage, anger, and endless noise caused by their exes and the danger brewing around the Battle Crows MC.  From the first page to the last this was a book that pulls you in with characters that are easy to relate to and more that meets the eye.

Jeremiah Crow isn't your typical bad boy biker in that he likes baking and reading.  He's more seasoned, a bit set in his ways, and after an unhappy marriage he's done with commitment, done with sacrificing his wants and desires.  It's now time for him to focus on himself.  The moment he meets a quiet woman at a party though is the moment when all his plans get turned upside down as she ends up becoming a vital part of his life, both his personal and work life.  Their connection is instantaneous, sizzling yet surprisingly sweet.  Readers see Jeremiah as standoffish and brooding early on, a man still trying to move on after divorce.  He's a tough guy, commanding, yet happy in his world of books and pastries and it's here where he and Gracelynn bond.  Jeremiah was definitely more than what he showed the world and he was just who the equally quiet young woman needed.  He became the perfectly imperfect hero for someone needing a harbor in the storm.

Gracelynn Barry is someone easy to relate to.  She too is seen by others as standoffish as she longs to be away from the chaos and the noise, happy in her world of books.  Her past is one of emotional pain, betrayal, and I felt very protective of her as the story progressed.  When it comes to her need for quiet, her feeling overloaded, Ms. Vale has again not shied away from addressing her issues.  By embracing her quirks, her imperfections, readers are wholeheartedly pulled into Gracie's world and the haven she found with Jeremiah.

Along with a compelling romance between two unforgettable people Ms. Vale amps up the action and suspense here.  It's a raw book, letting the chips fall where they may through many surprising twists and turns.  These events certainly kept me on the edge of my seat while causing a few tears to fall.  The romance itself was rocky but well-worth all the bumps and bruises to reach its hard-fought HEA.  Surrounding this engaging main couple was a cast of supportive secondary characters with a few issues of their own that impact the overall storyline.  On a whole the groundwork laid here has me excited where things go next in this exhilarating, no holds-barred series!

My rating for this is an A.
