MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
The London Legends are back just in time for the holidays and all is not rosy and bright for either John or Gwen, two people brought together by a bid at a charity auction. Their relationship starts off in a unique way and is soon rife with misunderstandings but through love and the power of the holiday there just might be a HEA.
John is the gentle giant of the team, a bit awkward around women but endearing and kind hearted. He has a daughter he dotes on and has a wonderful holiday planned for them until an injury on the field throws everything in doubt....not just the holiday but his future with the team. He must rely on Gwen during this turbulent time which gives him the chance to work through her past hurts and be the man she needs him to be if only she'll let him.
Gwen is a woman still dealing with past hurts from her youth which has her closed off and left her untrusting of men and their motives. She's a bit standoffish and quick to judge early on but these reactions are understandable considering her past. She's immediately attracted to John but a misunderstanding taints their promising relationship before it even starts. It will take an injury, a sweet little girl, and a holiday full of hope and love to give her the strength to accept what John offers.
This was a quick read full of heartwarming moments and steamy sensual interludes. There was again a nice blending of action on and off the field with glimpses of John's teammates which has me excited for more books in this series as they're a sexy and entertaining group of men. Ms. Latham continues to impress me with an immensely satisfying series full of compelling characters, sexy romantic encounters, and thrilling sports scenes and I highly recommend these books to others!
