What’s wrong with my butt?
She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life.
Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting.
She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either.
All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name.
From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it.
Not that he’s complaining or anything.
Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of the World Series?
The only problem is trying to convince her of that.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
A couple destined to be together get put through the emotional wringer due to misunderstandings and stubbornness in this tale set in the world of baseball. It’s an angst-fueled story that sometimes frustrated me but always kept me invested despite wanting to hit the heroine over the head from time to time. It’s a story that starts out sweet before turning a bit sour. The characters grow and change through each roadblock thrown at them before reaching a hard-fought conclusion that proves that true love always wins in the end.
George Hoffman’s at the top of his game when an errant baseball hits a sassy and curvy fan in the bleachers over the head. It’s the start to a sweet and sexy relationship that seems picture perfect until a misunderstanding pulls this duo apart. George is a charming, ginger-haired, star with a few family issues. He’s sweet with a growly attitude and an inquisitive nature who never stopped loving Wrigley despite the anger she felt towards him. He’s a delicious and caring hero and was the highlight of this story for me. Even when things went so awry for him and Wrigley he took the higher ground and waited her out as he knew they were meant to be together.
Wrigley Field’s not your average heroine, in neither looks or attitude. She doesn’t look like a model and despite falling for a ballplayer she knows nothing about baseball. She’s quick to fall for George though in a romance that charmed me early on before frustrating me throughout the second half of the book. She’s funny too, but a bit indecisive and walked when things turned sour instead of standing her ground. Like George, Wrigley’s got family issues of her own courtesy of an unpleasant brother and a sister who was the impetus to Wrigley’s biggest heartache. She wasn’t my favorite heroine of Ms. Vale’s but her interactions with George had me turning the pages with breathless anticipation.
This was a tale full of angst and one roadblock after another. Told in two parts it shows the whirlwind romance of George and Wrigley as they engage in a sweet and sexy relationship that felt so carefree early on. The second half of the book rips them apart though and throws numerous heartbreaking events their way. Stubbornness, misunderstandings, and manipulations from the outside world repeatedly conspired against them. While George continually proved himself a hero in his supportive stance, Wrigley often frustrated me by running when the going got tough. The latter half of this book is one that will keep readers on the edge of their seats in a romance full of realism for its less than perfect moments, while reminding readers of why they rooted for this couple in the first place.
