Book Release Blitz for Those Three Little Words by Meghan Quinn (REVIEW)…..

An unexpected pregnancy leads to a broken friendship and a big change to a way of life for a hockey player trying to win back his best friend/teammate while wooing the pregnant woman he's always had a crush on in this standalone contemporary romance.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Those Three Little Words by Meghan Quinn, along with my impressions of this second installment in The Vancouver Agitators series, then add this sweet and sensual rom-com to your bookshelf!

I knocked up my best friend's sister.Figured I would get straight to the point because how it happened is a mere snippet of the story I have to tell. The real meat and potatoes is what happened after.
Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting and then BAM! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist.
It wasn't pretty.
Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Given how much I've pined for the girl, you would think that wouldn't be a hardship. Wrong.
This is my one shot to win my teammate back. Pacey is the only family I've got, so hooking up with his sister isn't a mistake I can make twice...despite the fact that she's pregnant with my child.
But with every mood swing, every pair of pants that doesn't fit right, and every late night run to find the perfect donut, I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.
Especially when she kisses me...

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

I'm normally not a fan of the unplanned pregnancy theme, but Ms. Quinn completely won me over with this charming rom-com set in the hockey world.  After a one night stand leads to big changes for a young woman and her brother's best friend, these two friends slowly become something more as they navigate living together along with the ups and downs of pregnancy in a slow burn journey to HEA.  From the first page to the last readers will be charmed by this burgeoning couple, falling for the perfectly imperfect hero and cheering for the immensely appealing heroine, as each page warms the heart and puts a smile on your face.

Readers are back in the world of the Vancouver Agitators hockey team with this story of playboy player, Eli Hornsby, and the unexpected changes his life undergoes after a one night stand with his best friend's younger sister.  At the start of the story Eli is a carefree hockey star living life to the fullest.  He's sexy and unapologetic about loving the ladies, not wanting to commit, a self-assured playa who desperately tried to keep his hands to himself out of loyalty to his friend.  But as the story progresses a different side to Eli shows itself.  Once he learns of his impending fatherhood a caring and supportive side emerges, a side fueled by a painful past of loneliness that made my heart ache. Growing up was a time full of loneliness for him, of not experiencing love, and never feeling loved.  Being with Penny though gives him a glimpse of what a loving family is. She brings out his protective instincts and has him doing all he can to make her happy in a sweet and sensual romance that starts out charmingly awkward before turning more sizzling.  With each turn of the page I fell more and more in love with Eli.  Seeing the harsh realities of his youth and the effect it had on him as a man made my heart hurt and it was joyful to see Penny love him unconditionally.  A simple hug became more intimate to him then any roll in the sheets and it was beautiful to see their relationship becoming more meaningful, becoming more heartfelt.

Penny Lawes always felt an attraction to Eli, but always felt equally intimidated by him too.  Ultimately it was love and loyalty to her brother Pacey that had her creating a boundary between her and Eli.  But one drunken night changed everything between them as an unexpected pregnancy has them playing house on the road to HEA.  Things may start out a bit bumpy early on, with awkward chats and harsh truths, but as the story progressed things became even more emotional as their hearts and minds became even more entwined.  Through it all Penny became a strong support to Eli, making him feel unconditionally loved and accepted, all while realistically dealing with pregnancy hormones.  Her pregnancy was a truly entertaining part of the story as it made me laugh while endearing Eli to me even more.  With each turn of the page Penny showed herself to be a strong-willed heroine, one who's easy to relate to (even with the erratic mood swings), and one who gave Eli the family he's always wanted in a romance that made me happy.

When it comes to entertaining banter and sizzling chemistry, Ms. Quinn has always been a favorite of mine and this book proves itself another winner.  As the second book in the Vancouver Agitators series I was thrilled to once again see these teammates display their brotherly sides in playful texts and scenes that were utterly endearing and that have me eagerly anticipating revisiting this team again soon.  Readers will find much to enjoy about this hockey-themed romance of friendship, love, and what makes a family as its sweet and sexy banter leads to an unforgettable connection involving the heart and soul.

My rating for this is an A.
