Book Release Blast for Hero in Waiting by Shelby Flynn (REVIEW)…..

When a country music star crashes into the calm and controlled life of a rancher things will never be the same, for either of them, as what they thought they wanted turns out to be very different.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Hero in Waiting by Shelby Flynn, along with my impressions of it, then add this first installment in the Southern Rogues series to your bookshelf!

Avery Dawson thought she had it all figured out. A music career, a tour, and the entire world at her feet. Then her bus crashed on a deserted road and she found herself stuck...and in need of a hero.
When Jackson Pole stopped to help the country star trapped in the bus, he thought he was doing a good deed. But the next day, with Avery staying in his house and her fingerprints all over everything, he has one very disturbing realization: Now that she was here, she was going to change everything.
Life in his small town in North Carolina, on the ranch he worked so hard to buy, has always been more than enough for him. He never wanted anything more, and he certainly never wanted a woman. Especially a high-profile, high-maintenance one like Avery.
But when she leaves, intent on starting her tour and moving on from the disastrous week she spent waiting for her bus to be repaired, it turns out he was wrong.
He does need a woman. And only one woman will do: the one that just left him.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

With its Hallmark Channel feel this book will entertain readers from start to finish while warming their hearts as its small town boy finds an unexpected attraction to the country singer who's more than what she seems.  These two apparent opposites grow close in the short time they're together in sensual and sweet exchanges.  But just when they realize what they mean to each other, outside forces intervene leading to a rocky and hard-fought road to HEA.

This is a good read, a solid read that's also a satisfying series starter. There's much about it that's familiar though, much that's comfortable, and because of that it's a nice summer read to relax with while sitting in the sun.

My rating for this book is a B+

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Shelby Flynn is a fan of red wine, cheesecake, perfect hash browns, and really good punk rock. She’s also obsessed with everything piratical—though she refuses to acknowledge any actual connection to pirates. She studied English and Film at UCLA and, when forced to choose a career, chose publishing rather than teaching or being a filmmaker. Quinn lives in San Diego with her husband, dogs, and far too many cats.
