Book Release Blast for The Secret Roommate by Sara Ney (REVIEW)……

An athlete looking for a bit of peace and quiet finds himself falling for his new roommate, who was supposed to be keeping to herself, in this charming rom-com.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Secret Roommate by Sara Ney, along with my impressions of it, then add this fourth installment in the Accidentally In Love series to your bookshelf!

All I need is a place to hide for a few weeks.
The paparazzi were on my ass 24/7 and I needed a bit of breathing room—an escape from the madness—before the media frenzy begins.
Sure, I could have gone to a secluded cabin in the woods—but I didn’t want to be bored out of my mind. I’d seen enough wide open spaces as a kid from Texas to last me a lifetime.
So instead, I let my agent hook me up with a modest house in the burbs where we didn’t think anyone would find me hiding in plain sight.
I’d have a roommate; but supposedly, she was going to give me space. Stay out of my way and respect my boundaries. According to my agent, I wouldn’t hear a peep from her.
Wrong. He was wrong about everything and now my life was never going to be the same.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As a fan of the roommates to lovers theme I couldn't wait to get my hands on this story and with each turn of the page I found myself charmed by the romance playing out on the pages.  These two apparent opposites start off antagonistic but as the days (and nights) unfold they find a connection, bringing out a different side to each than they show the world.  By the end of the book I'm left satisfied and hopeful for this couple, looking forward to seeing more of them throughout the series.

Duke's a star football player looking for a hideout until a big announcement is made regarding his career.  He ends up in the unlikeliest of places...in a small town as a roommate to a kindergarten teacher.  He's definitely a fish out of water at the start, used to getting what he wants when he wants.  He's a bit arrogant, often speaks before he thinks, and I truly wanted to slug him a time or two for his utter cluelessness early on.  Luckily though, my frustrations were balanced with genuine moments of him being caring and protective, showing a more mature side than at the start.  He's a quirky guy, full of witty banter and a playful nature who brought out a fun side to Posey and their slow-burn connection was teeming with laugh out loud moments.

Posey's an immensely likable heroine, patient and thoughtful, a good girl who doesn't take crap from anyone.  Her immediate reaction to Duke is one of annoyance though due to his arrogance and frat boy antics.  He definitely pushes her buttons and wears her patience thin as they're truly opposites at the start.  Witty and playful banter, back and forth antics soon lead to more though in a sensual romance that takes its time while showing these two in a different light as their time together has changed them.

This was a fun and flirty romance full of laughs...with just a bit of angst due to an out of the blue twist late in the book that had me screeching.  Despite that unnecessary hiccup I found this an entertaining read with an appealing main couple (Duke's warts and all) that was both charming and steamy.  It was a carefree read for the most part that made for an afternoon of delights.

My rating for this is a B-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
