MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Another fake marriage storyline makes for a decadently delightful romance teeming with witty banter courtesy of a sizzling main couple with a history of preconceived notions that added to the sensuality.  Ford and Quinn's connection was tender, with surprising depth, as each learned more and more about the other.  As the end date for their fake marriage raced ever closer each had to decide when things turned so real.

Ford's a delicious hero, a playboy reputation slapped on him, who shows himself to be anything but a playboy as the story progresses.  He's a hilarious hero with a big heart, a firefighter who saves lives, adding to the kind and caring demeanor he shows the world. He's had a crush on Quinn since he was young, starting off as rivals before he could no longer contain the truth of his feelings in a fake marriage that slowly becomes VERY real. He and Quinn simply crackle.  In their time together heartfelt truths are shared while he shows a supportive side in her dealings with body image issues.  He's a great match to Quinn and they were fun and flirty to watch in their connection full of heart and soul.

Quinn's a tough heroine who knows what she wants and has always gone after it.  She's a caring woman, tough and determined, who wants to make things better for others. She's got a tough exterior but still managed to make my heart ache through an absolutely horrible boss and parents who tear her down repeatedly.  Add in body image issues for her too and I was left rooting for her to find her personal HEA by the turn of the final page.

This was an entertaining read with rapid-fire banter, playful, but teeming with sensuality too.  There were moments of real communication between Ford and Quinn, moments that warmed my heart.  These were balanced with moments of frustration though too as miscommunication crept into the story.  Luckily the frustration didn't last long as the author quickly wrapped up the miscommunication in a mature and reasonable way.  On a whole, this was a romance that may have started out under false pretenses but quickly became oh so real.  These two people might have started out as enemies but they soon found themselves to be a perfect match in a journey that pulled me in wholeheartedly and has me excited for the next installment in this series!

My rating for this is an A-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

AUTHOR INFO:

Award-winning USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love—writing. She likes her books how she likes her tea—steamy and satisfying—and adores strong-willed heroines and the protective heroes who fall head over heels for them. Brighton lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—both taller than her—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it's mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible.
