Book Tour for Perfect Ride by Eva Lefoy & Shiloh Saddler (Author Interview)

As a fan of the m/m genre I'm excited to bring you an action-packed (both in and out of the bedroom) and sexy read based in the world of bull riding, Perfect Ride by Eva Lefoy and Shiloh Saddler.  Keep reading to learn all sorts of secrets about these authors and get a tantalizing glimpse inside their book too.  You can learn even more about this book by visiting the other blogs hosting this tour and then add it to your wishlist!

TSP:  Knowing what you do now about the publishing business, would you have done anything different career-wise?
SS:  That’s a hard question. The only thing I can think of at the moment is starting to write and publish earlier in life. I think my writing partner Eva would agree with me. Of course, it would have been nice if we would have become writing buddies earlier too.
TSP:  What does your writing space look like and do you surround yourself with any particularly inspirational items?
SS:  My writing space is wherever my lap top is. Eva is the same way. Often times we make the couch, kitchen table, or a local coffee shop our writing office. Inspirational items? We need pictures of hot men!
TSP:  What draws you to write in the m/m genre and why do you think readers have become so enamored of the stories too?
SS:  We love guys and two guys are better than one. Plus, in a MM story you don’t have to ever compete with the heroine.
TSP:  Beyond its synopsis, what do you want us to know about Perfect Ride?
SS:  Perfect Ride has a bit of fun, a bit of sex, and a big helping of wacky. Some readers who don’t feel the love for clowns will definitely have their day with this book! Plus, the book also touches on gay issues. Bull riding is not a sport where it’s okay to be out and proud. Cowboys probably not so much either. And Cole’s dad is not gay friendly. So there’s plenty of obstacles for the two men to deal with. On top of that, Garrett’s black. A black gay bull rider is rare. But we wrote one, ’cause we liked him that way!
TSP:  Which of your books would you like to see made into a movie and who would play the main couple?
SS:  Of Shiloh’s books I would say Saltwater Lover which is out with Liquid Silver Books.  There are so many possibilities there with Captain Mather and Kojo, and the whole romance of ship at sea setting just begs for a movie! I can see Russell Crowe as Captain Mather and maybe Denzel Washington at Kojo? (swoons!!!)
For Eva, probably Lover Enslaved which is published with Decadent Publishing. It too, has an exotic setting – Mumbai, India – and plenty of shooting action. Most of the story takes place in a luxury hotel so there could be plenty of hot tub shots! Not sure who would play Thomas but I like the idea of Patrick Dempsey, too bad he’s not blond! For Arjun, maybe Hrithik Roshan?
TSP:  Of all the heroes you've written, who's the most heroic in your opinion?
For Eva, Special Agent Everett from Download My Love is definitely the hero type.
For Shiloh, I would say Joe Bascum from The Virgin Madame. Joe saves the owner of a whorehouse western shoot-out style!
TSP:  How has the digital revolution affected your career and how you market yourself?  Do you have an eReader yourself?
SS:  Eva and I both have e-Readers. I actually do 75% of my reading on my eReader now. I used to think an author needed to have a print contract in order to have a successful writing career. Now I can see that I can have a good career with ebooks as well.
TSP:  My site's all about favorite things, so what are your favorite things/the things you can't live without?
SS:  Eva- Hiking, Tea, sleep and the movie Blade Runner.
Shiloh – Coffee, coffee, and more coffee! She also loves her dog, her family and watching PBR bull riding events.
TSP:  And our final fun question......Do you prefer your heroes wearing boxers, briefs, or going commando?
SS:  That’s an easy question commando!

Professional bull rider Garrett Anderson lives for the next town, the next trophy and his next ride. When he rolls into Sheridan, Wyoming, the last thing he expected was to meet a cowboy like Cole—a man who corrals his heart and leaves him aching for the kind of love he’s been missing.
A bull tender on the PBR circuit Cole Richards secretly longs for a lover but wasn’t prepared for Garrett’s passion or the longing their one brief tryst kindles.  After he is shot and recovering in his hospital bed, Cole can only watch Garrett’s disastrous ride afraid it could be his last. Heartbroken when the battered and bruised bull rider leaves town, Cole knows better than to hope to see him again.
Attacked again and knee-deep in trouble, Cole wants only Garrett at his side. But can his bull rider trade fame and fortune for a lifetime with his one perfect ride?

EXCERPT:

The rank bull spun right out of the gate, first right then left, then back again. He spun so fast Townsend dipped into the well and could not get out. On the bull’s next spin Townsend fell to the ground. The bull’s front hooves came down near his head—crushing the most vulnerable place on a rider. His windpipe.
Garrett could almost hear the snap of the man’s neck and feel the life drain from his body. His own throat constricted, and he swallowed around a lump as his gaze hovered over Townsend’s lifeless body saying a silent good-bye. “My God.”
The spectators fell eerily quiet. Everyone knew.
Garrett’s body turned stiff. The two bullfighters helped lead the bull out of the arena while the medics examined the rider. An ambulance came in and they loaded Townsend’s corpse onto the stretcher and hauled it away. The announcer said they’d check on his condition and report soon. Deep down Garrett knew what they were afraid to say. Joe Townsend had taken his last ride.
Freddy had the shakes. He looked like he might be sick. Was this the first fatality he’d witnessed? Hell, Garrett’s had happened so long ago he couldn’t even remember his. But Freddy was brand new at this and from the looks of things it hit him hard.
Garrett took one look at his whitening face and knew he needed to do something before the kid passed out. “Come on. Walk with me.”
Freddy gave a pale green nod and jumped down off the bleachers. The announcer encouraged everyone to applaud Townsend’s effort. That was the best way to send off a bull rider, and then he led everyone in prayer. Afterward, he said there would be a fifteen-minute break before the next ride.
Garrett led him back to the locker room and to the deserted showers. “Get under here.”
The kid looked at him like he might be crazy.
“Come on. Get your gear off and get under here.” He practically growled the order at the kid, using an authoritative voice he’d picked up probably back in his own training days. Those times had honed him, made him the champion he’d become. If Freddy was serious about following in his footsteps, he needed to learn the ropes.
The shaken kid stripped and got under the nozzle. Garrett hobbled over and turned on the spray. Full blast. Nice and hot. But Freddy must have been cold. He wrapped his arms around himself, still shivering.
“Now I want you to tell me what you saw out there.”
“Th-the bull killed Joe. He just stomped on him and…and….”
“And he died. Say it. Let the reality sink in.”
Freddy nodded, but didn’t say anything.
Garrett stood still for a couple minutes, watching Freddy’s reaction. Waiting for him to come down off the shock and adrenaline rush. When his breathing at last slowed, he prompted him again. “Talk to me.”
