In a deliciously sexy twist on the classic game, USA Today bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly proves that when playing truth or dare—always choose dare.
After her one attempt at commitment ends with the discovery that her fiancé already has a wife and kid, Maggie Lawson vows that the only people she’ll love ’til death do they part will be her friends. Unfortunately that means Maggie letting her bestie rope her into a year-long dating dare: score a new date each month or pay a penalty. Seems doable—until Maggie’s date stands her up, leaving only one option: the sexy stud who just moved in upstairs. The problem? He and Maggie can’t stop fighting—and that’s just the beginning.
His name is Tyler Daniels and the last thing he needs is his neighbor distracting him with her girl-next-door smile and sharp tongue. Tyler’s in Chicago for one reason: to woo back his selfish ex in order to reclaim the child he once thought was his—and that means keeping Maggie out of his bed. A tall order, since Maggie has become a bigger temptation than he ever expected to face. But before they can even consider leaving the past behind, Maggie and Tyler must accept a brand-new dare: real, forever love.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
Those looking for a fun and flirty read will get just that with Truth or Dare and the colorful denizens of an apartment building that starts to feel more like a home as each tenant becomes more closely connected. For two bruised souls their fiery first meeting slowly morphs into more in this likable story with relatable, strong-willed, and kindhearted characters.
Since being embarrassed in public by the revelation of the man she was to marry being already married to another, Maggie has sworn off men and relationships. Instead of hiding like she wants she agrees to keep dating one man a month or pay a penalty when out of desperation she ends up at new neighbor Tyler's front door which results in a rocky and unexpected start to a friendship that morphs into a sensual romance. Maggie is a strong-willed woman who rose above a big betrayal. She knows what she wants out of life and rolls with any roadblocks thrown her way. She's supportive of Tyler and their relationship that's teeming with sexual tension and witty banter.
Tyler and Maggie definitely get off on the wrong foot at their first meeting which leads to snarky banter at first but quickly morphs into unrelenting sexual tension. Even though he's sworn off relationships, wanting to focus on getting the young boy he thought of as a son back, he's drawn to Maggie and all the homey qualities she represents. Though they try to keep their relationship strictly sexual their connection continues to deepen as readers get to see more of their personality come out through interactions with the rest of their apartment family. Tyler is a kindhearted man who wants to do right by a young boy which endeared him to me. His plan is sweet but it's a rocky road he's undertaking full of heartbreak.
Maggie and Tyler are an engaging couple who are sweet with fun banter that often put a smile on my face. Their battle of the sexes and unrelenting sexual tension makes their romantic culmination all the richer. Surrounding this entertaining couple is an assortment of likable secondary characters that readers will get small glimpses of but will be left wanting more of their lives depicted. This is a straight-forward story with little conflict and with a few predictable turns along the way that still was a satisfying read. Ms. Kelly crafted a fun Friends-like tale that kept me immersed in the romance and friendships and looking forward to learning more about the other neighbors.
My rating for this is a B.
