One of my favorite movies is The Princess Bride, and I think that it is—beside the fact that it’s just plain amazing—because of the all the fun one-liners. I love a good one-liner, so I’m going to share what I think were my top ten favorite one-liners (in no order) in A Perfect Ten from sweet, to fun, to just plain naughty:
--“No one’s ever pleased me the way you please me. Every time with you is better than the last. I can’t even...God, Caroline. You own me.”
--"I suddenly wanted to cut his penis off. But then I loved his penis."
--"You argued with some girl and pulled her hair during sex? wow. What are you five??"
--"But hell, did being nice backfire in a major way. The damn girl tried to kiss me. Twice! I know. The nerve.”
--"Lick you later, baby."
--"So this is my Pathetic Loser's confession: I am Oren Tenning, and I have fallen. Hard."
--"Damn woman had a habit of making me happy whenever she was around."
--“So, then he was...choking, and you were...trying to resuscitate him...with your tongue?”
--"I had no idea I could share so much with one person and feel so...full. Like, I don’t know...without you in my life, I’m not sure I’d know how to be me anymore."
--"It's hard to tell [who gave me this bruise]. I've gotten so many lately, it’s impossible to keep track without, like, a spreadsheet or something. Honestly, I think they're starting to spawn and have babies together.” Colton giggled at that. So I kept going, pointing at my throbbing eye. “I swear this one’s the great-grandkid of the one you gave me last year, Gam.”

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.
I know I've closed myself off in a major way in the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up completely. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.
Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As a fan of the previous books in Ms. Kage's Forbidden Men series I was eagerly anticipating manwhore Oren finally falling in love and I'm happy to report that the wait was worth it.  With its immensely likable main characters, and emotionally supportive secondary characters, this story captivated me from the first page to the last.  Caught up in fun and flirty moments, as well as surprisingly heartwarming discoveries, I enjoyed the sensual tug of war between Oren and Caroline as their forbidden love had me rooting for their HEA.  Though this book can be read on its own you'll find Oren and Caroline's journey more satisfying watching their connection subtly evolve throughout each book and conclude here in a richly rewarding way.  Getting to know the other characters adds to this book's overall enjoyment as they're delightfully realistic with interactions amongst themselves on vivid and believable display.

Throughout the series Oren could always be counted on to say the most shocking things.  He's the life of the party, has no filter on his words, and goes through women like tissues.  His fun-loving ways though are a facade to hidden pain and loss that he left behind in his hometown.  With his friends pairing up and finding their own HEAs he's starting to find his way of life boring and meaningless.  These moments of introspection have him picturing his best friend's little sister Caroline who turns his thoughts warm and fuzzy.  She's the only woman to tempt him as her brother's made him pledge to stay away from her.  This only makes him want her more, as does her strong-willed and forgiving side.  No matter how hard he tries to push her away with crass comments, moment of care and concern shine through to remind him of what she means to him and his heart despite promises that war with his loyalty.  When fate intervenes to throw them together for one memorable night he soon realizes that one night will never be enough.  Steamy and clandestine encounters have both of them opening their hearts and together they become emotionally intertwined in numerous heartwarming moments that slowly bleed outside the bedroom.  To finally claim her Oren will have to stop running from his past, he'll have to embrace his adulthood that her love led him to.  His is a sweet and sensual journey to HEA full of moments that made me blush, laugh, and cry for the loneliness he keeps hidden and that I knew Caroline could assuage.

Caroline's been hurt by someone in the past too, and while it's left her brother protective of her, it's left her wanting to finally move on and put the pain behind her.  She wants to finally start living, and as Oren has always fascinated her, she wants him.  While his whoring ways disappoint her she can see behind his play acting to a caring and heartfelt side he only expresses when he's with her.  He becomes a real person in her presence, with deep emotions, instead of the myth his sexual antics have brought him.  When the opportunity presents itself for her to be with him as she's always wanted, she jumps in wholeheartedly to create a moment that profoundly affects both of them and irrevocably changes their relationship.  I applaud Caroline for going after what she wanted instead of pining away and alone forever.  Her past has made her stronger with bonds that are loyal and unwavering despite any careless comments made in frustration.  I enjoyed her inner monologues that left me rooting for her as she clearly cares for Oren and brings out an immensely appealing side to him that others don't think exists.

Caroline and Oren's relationship is tumultuous early on with Oren fighting what he so clearly wants.  Their interactions teem with sexual tension as their emotional tug of war intensifies with what Oren wants and what he can't have.  Their fun and flirty banter quickly morphed into sensual and were full of longing that had me on edge willing them to finally get together.  The dual POVs let us into their inner struggle and further enhanced the heartbreak their forbidden love engendered, leaving us breathless with anticipation.  Along with this compelling main couple is the continuing appearances of past characters who lend a familial feel to the story.  Each are likable and supportive and the group's interactions immersed me completely in their world.  Ms. Kage has crafted another winner that makes the Forbidden Men series one of my favorites and I recommend it to readers looking for reasons to read the New Adult genre!

My rating for this is an A.
