MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As a fan of rockstar romances I was immediately drawn to the premise of Ms. Wilder's debut work, a story that charmed me with its endearingly cute first meeting between the main couple and their captivating journey to HEA.  It's a journey that pulls readers in while showing unexpected sides to these characters, it allows for these two friends to become something more while they figure out more about themselves.  When it comes to rockstar romances there's a sense of familiarity amongst many of the storylines, but this story definitely sets itself apart from the rest courtesy of characters who aren't typical and a premise that goes in surprising directions.

Jaxson Ryder is a delicious hero, not your typical rockstar that's for sure as he's not overly comfortable being under a microscope, uncomfortable with living a life full of obligations.  When he first proposes to tutor Sidney, the offer is made from the goodness of his heart and isn't a way into her pants.  Jax is a truly good young man with a big heart who wants to help others.  Through his time with Sidney he becomes more comfortable in own skin as fame comes ever closer to him and as he tries to figure out a way to have it all.

Sidney King is one of the most appealing heroines I've discovered courtesy of her strong and sassy persona.  Her family life wasn't the best though and it kept her from opening up her heart fully to others, leading to a lot of frustrating push/pull between her and Jax as they evolved from friends to something deeper.  She's a formidable heroine as she knows what she wants for her life and refuses to settle for anything less.  She wasn't willing to be second best in any situation which made for some difficult times as this couple raced towards their destinies.  With each turn of the page though she became a tangible part of Jax's life, helping him embrace the rockstar persona while soaking up his sweet and kindhearted side.

On a whole this is an impressive debut work courtesy of an unforgettable couple and their sweet and endearing romance that built slowly.  Jax is a dreamy and drool-worthy hero with a big heart who often showed Sid just how important she was to him.  Though he made a few mistakes along the way, I still name him to my list of book boyfriends and still see him in my dreams.  Sidney is equally as memorable and I wish more heroines were as strong-willed as she, as determined as she showed herself to be throughout the story.  Alongside this memorable main couple was a cast of equally appealing secondary characters, mostly the remaining members of Glasshouse.  These characters weren't your typical rockstars, they too had big hearts that I can't wait to see more of as the glimpses we got of them here are quite tempting.  Readers looking for a fresh voice in the genre, a romantic tale full of heart and soul, will want to add this book to your shelves the moment it's released as it's a special and beautifully crafted story!

My rating for this is an A-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

From the moment I started reading this I thought it would be a typical New Adult romance set in the world of collegiate sports.  But with each turn of the page I found this story to be something very different.  As one relationship starts, another deals with some of today's heavy issues in a storyline that was sometimes hard to see depicted.

Natalie and Sebastian are the two main characters of this story and readers watched as a slow burn connection brewed between them and as some really heavy decisions were laid out before them.  Issues of privilege based on status, male toxicity, loyalty, and abuse were depicted in a realistic way that showed the flaws of human nature and within the court system in ways that frustrated and saddened me.  The relationship between Natalie’s friend Annika and quarterback Johnny fuels many of the issues in this book, puts readers through the wringer, and creates all sorts of unexpected twists and turns.  Through all the grit and the growing connection between Natalie and Sebastian, readers will find themselves captivated by all the ups and downs.  Natalie’s a likable heroine from the very start, a smart and strong-willed young woman who doesn’t give away her heart easily.  She’s loyal to her friend Annika and stands beside her wholeheartedly as things turn ugly between Annika and Johnny.  When readers first meet Sebastian they see someone who lives up to all the usual stereotypes, someone a bit arrogant and cocky.  But as he becomes friends with Natalie he becomes more willing to show a softer side.  He becomes more dedicated in gaining her heart, a heart that soon gets stuck between his team and his new love.

This is a hard to read story at times, but I applaud Ms. Million for crafting such a realistic story that never sugarcoated the truth.  Readers are put through a gamut of emotions while rooting for HEA to be reached in the end and I recommend it to all those wanting something different and something that affects their heart and soul!

My rating for this is an A.

WREN
I colored inside the lines.
Dotted my i's and crossed my t's.
Avoided connections, limited questions, and didn’t get personal. Playing it safe kept my identity hidden.
What was meant to be a working holiday had me straying from the safety of the sidelines. He tempted me, and I fell – hard
Throwing caution to the wind and my rules out the window
Keep it light, no strings, no expectations
What could go wrong? It wasn't like I'd see him after my vacation...
For years my rules kept the attention off of me. That was until he walked into class.
ELI
As a varsity athlete, I believed practice made perfect. I was a player on and off the field.
I had planned to work on my techniques for years to come.
Who could have predicted the impact of my casual holiday hookup?
Falling for her wasn’t part of the game plan.
She insisted on no contact after we left the island – I reluctantly agreed. Imagine our surprise when we ended up in the same classroom.
Screw the optics. Screw the blurred boundaries.
Relegation to any zone that puts me out of her bed isn’t an option.
To hell with her rule book...I’m competitive by nature and won’t stop until she’s mine.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

When it comes to rockstar romances I can never get enough and I celebrate each new release within the genre!  This latest release from Ms. Capulet is yet another satisfying addition to my list that nicely balances the over-the-top rockstar life with an emotionally intense romance going on behind the rockstar facade.  In a tale of opposites attracting I found myself charmed by the lengths the hero goes to to win his small town girl while feeling sympathetic for all the pain he carries that has led to his self-destructive lifestyle. Theirs is a journey that pulled at my heartstrings that had me rooting them on every step of the way.

Vaughn Tucker is at the top of the rockstar world as drummer for a successful band, with millions of women throwing themselves at him for one night of fun as that's all he's willing to offer them.  He's a sexy man, outgoing, and charming which makes your heart flutter for him from the very start.  Behind the rockstar facade though is a man weighed down by painful emotions, feelings that he's constantly trying to numb with drugs and alcohol.  His talent is partly fueled by this deep understanding of others, his fears over becoming like his father, and his guilt over the loss of his parents, so it will be a difficult journey to get clean.  The moment he sees an angelic young woman named Gigi is the moment everything changes for him in an unconventional journey to healing.  It's a journey full of sweet moments, poetic words, and subtle and blatant flirtations that endeared him to me.  He's a confident man too and that's definitely on display throughout his wooing of Gigi.  Along the way, as he grows closer to her, he also addresses the pain that's been dragging him down in a sometimes frustrating journey to HEA that I so wanted to be more strongly depicted as it's a big issue in this country right now.

Gigi Hayes is the proverbial good girl next door, a kindhearted young woman with a strong Catholic upbringing that has her wanting to save herself for just the right man. She has a strong work ethic too when it comes to education and can't wait to become a social worker in order to help others.  She likes living in a small town and finds the glitz and glamour of the big city unappealing.  She's a bit naive when readers first meet her, a bit too nice, which made her a bit of a pushover.  She knows what she wants out of life and a womanizing rockstar isn't what she pictures.  The moment she meets Vaughn though she's clearly tempted.  He's everything she's stayed away from, but there's something about him that calls to her.  She senses the pain he carries and wants to help him heal, but she doesn't expect her heart to become so involved.  Through sweet and sexy interactions they grow closer together, both becoming empowered through the support they give each other, in a journey that had me cheering them on through every emotional high and low.  Gigi started out a bit of a doormat, almost too good to be true, but as the story progressed she grew a backbone and started pushing Vaughn to be the man she knew he could be.  Through it all though I liked Gigi, with her big heart and caring nature.  She looked beyond the playboy facade to see the caring and vulnerable man beneath to give readers an epic romance full of sweetness, steaminess, and an utterly satisfying conclusion.

Vaughn is a delicious hero who's let the past control his future, flitting from one woman to the next, while loading up on drugs and alcohol.  He's clearly lost at the start of the story and I desperately worried about what would happen to him...luckily Gigi happens to him!  The two seem like opposites in many ways but together they're oh so perfect. She brings out his goodness, while he fuels her empowerment, in an unconventional journey of healing.  Their romance was full of sweet interactions (Pretty Woman inspired), heartfelt moments of talking, and scorching encounters that set my reader on fire.  Despite a flawless romance that completely charmed me, I had issues with Vaughn's battle with addiction.  The emotions and pain it caused were spot-on, but his rehabilitation was unrealistic and took me out of the story from time to time.  The characters themselves though kept me glued to the pages and I'm looking forward to seeing where Ms. Capulet takes readers next!

My rating for this is an B+

Book Release Boost for Beautifully Broken by Bailey B......

Two people bruised by life find themselves in a dark place, thankfully finding each other when they need support the most, in this slow-burn romance of opposites attracting.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Beautifully Broken by Bailey B, then add this emotionally intense tale to your bookshelf.

Piper
Most people don’t think about the day they’ll die. They coast through life, blissfully unaware of how their time is ticking away. I wasn’t like most people. I welcomed death, wanted her to take me away from the prison I called life, but she refused. I tried twice only to survive. And then, when I thought I had nothing left it came.
A reason to live.
Rex was a small, unexpected ray of light my world of darkness that blossomed into a beam of sunshine. I thought, maybe this was why Death didn’t take me. Maybe she knew that if I held on a little longer things would turn around. But the third time Death came to my door wasn’t by choice. Someone else brought her, and I fear this time she might take me.
Rex
Being the son of a country star sucks. My parents are never around, I move every year or so, and I have no real friends. Everyone around me has an agenda. Everyone except Piper Lovelace. I can’t get that girl to notice me. Trust me I’ve tried.
Thankfully, fate stepped in and gave me the break I needed. I’ve got her attention, now I need her to give me a chance.
