From New York Times bestselling author S.L. Jennings comes another scandalously sexy, incredibly hot story about a woman who knows what she wants...and the two men who are dying to give her what she needs.
Heidi DuCane is a tough-as-nails publicist with a passion for success and her husband Tucker. While they’re polar opposites, what they do have in common is a fierce love and commitment to each other. But their relationship-in and out of the bedroom-will be put to the ultimate test.
Rock superstar Ransom Reed is every woman’s fantasy, including Heidi’s. When she meets Ransom, she shares a wild night with him where Heidi gets to play-and Tucker watches, and enjoys, the pleasure Ransom gives Heidi. Though Tucker was a willing participant, Heidi still can’t help reeling with guilt. There’s no doubt that she loves her husband. While Tucker is the perfect lover-generous, attentive and gentle-she needs much more. She needs the mind-blowing ecstasy Ransom offers.

Tucker isn’t blind to the fact that Heidi has unconventional needs which he can’t satisfy. He loves his wife and will do anything to please her The night he watched her and Ransom was so scorching hot amnd Tucker can’t stop thinking about it. He decides he wants to join Ransom in pleasing Heidi. But as Tucker and Heidi soon realize, it’s not just the sex that is enticing. Heidi felt something within her awaken, and she felt so deliciously sated and loved by both men. Tucker felt it too, and he finds it impossible not to want that feeling again.
Ransom and Tucker satisfy a need within Heidi. And now that she’s had them, she can never go back to the way things were before.
EXCERPT:
“I dare you…to let me touch your wife."
An audible gasp escapes my kiss-swollen lips and turn to Tucker, awaiting his wrath. He returns Ransom’s intent stare, his expression unreadable.
Yet, the younger man doesn’t back down, cocking a challenging brow at Tuck’s silence. He remains unmovable, a master at the art of restraint from his years as a shrink. No doubt he’s had to answer some odd questions, but never any involving his wife.
"I don't let Heidi do anything. She has her own mind...her own body."
“So maybe I should be asking her.” A sinister smile on his lips, Ransom angles his focus on me. “Heidi, would you let me touch you?"
My first reaction is to say no--hell no. But Tucker quickly grasps my knee, capturing my attention.
“This is what you want,” he whispers. “He…is what you want. And I can accept that. This is your fantasy, baby. Let me help you make it come true."
I search his face, waiting for him to break into laughter, but he’s completely serious. My husband is telling me to let another man put his hands on me—his wife. This isn’t right. This isn’t what married people are supposed to do. But even as that rational part of my brain lists all the reasons why I shouldn’t allow this to go any further, my body is already tingling with anticipation. My face and chest are flush. My nipples harden in exhilaration. And my mouth waters with the prospect of tasting Ransom’s skin.
Oh, God. I do want this. And now the decision is mine and mine alone.
“So?” Ransom asks, awaiting our fate.
Say no.
Say no.
Grab Tucker’s hand and get the fuck out of here. Go home and make love to him. Let that kind, good, gentle man be enough.
Once again, Ransom Reed steals the truth from my lips, forcing me to abandon all decency and sanity. Making me take the sanctity of my marriage and soil it with my own slick arousal.
In one single breath, I shatter ten years of devotion, trust and love. And although I know what I’m destroying by lighting this fire, I can’t do much more than stand back and watch it all go up in flames.
“Yes.”

Readers who enjoy romances full of emotional ups and downs will find themselves drawn to this tale of rekindling romance and valuing what you have. Though there are times when the characters annoyed me I still found myself fully immersed in this sensual tale full of conflicts. From start to finish this is a story that's not afraid to show people's dirty sides, it's memorable in that it doesn't take the expected twists and turns, and by story's end it doesn't culminate as expected either. It's a gritty story, not always ethical nor showing people at their best, but it will leave you talking.
Heidi's been drawn to Tucker ever since an emotional and physical trauma led her to seek his psychological help which led to an even deeper connection. After ten years though, and despite how sweet and understanding he is, she's starting to find their life becoming too routine. She's frustrated not getting everything she wants out of their sex life because of his extreme care of her which leads her down a path that will shake their marriage to its foundation. When Heidi comes face to face with the rock star that she's always been attracted to she thinks she's been hired to make his life better but one combustible night leads to emotional upheaval and tons of angst that could destroy them all. Throughout everything Heidi remains a strong-willed woman full of conflict and a bit of self-doubt. She truly loves her husband and knows how lucky she is to be with him but she can't keep ignoring her dark sexual desires that he sees as unhealthy. When given the opportunity to indulge in everything she wants she doesn't hesitate to take it despite the hurt she knows it will cause. She's selfish at times and not as committed to her marriage as her husband despite what she says and in my opinion.
Tucker is older and wiser and was just what Heidi needed to heal from a vicious sexual attack. He's still that kindhearted man today, totally devoted to his clients, who wants to make his wife happy but who treats her with kid's gloves. To make Heidi happy he's willing to let her have one night with the rock star she's always been drawn to which ends up creating unexpected entanglements all in the name of healing. While this connection may have brought out Tucker's wild side, by story's end it feels that they're right back in the comfort zone they started out with. I liked Tucker and for the most part he was honorable, barring an unethical twist revealed late in the story, but I wish we'd gotten into his psyche more. As the story was told from Heidi's POV we never got to hear Tucker's thoughts which would've made for a richer story as the storyline revolved around their marriage.
From the outside rock star Ransom seems to have it all, but inside he's a mess. He suffers from depression, feelings of loss, and has an addictive personality. He's also super sexy with a bad boy vibe mixed with that of a lost little boy you can't help wanting to heal. It's this side of his personality that calls to Heidi as she wants to keep him safe. Ransom's attraction to her is instantaneous and combustible. He never holds back in giving her what she wants and like two addicts they keep coming back for more despite the damage it's doing to her marriage. Throughout their time together though there's a sense of impending doom, a clock counting down that has them frantic in each other's arms. He might have thought himself in love with her but it was a toxic love, one based on loneliness, that left me feeling frustrated by each player in this complicated relationship.
Readers who enjoy erotica will find that part of the story immensely satisfying as the sexual encounters were plentiful, scorching, and varied in intensity when sex play was included. From the outside each character seemed in control but inside they were a bit bruised and battered emotionally. Tucker was the kind of husband every girl wants but his job as psychiatrist permeated his life which had him often analyzing Heidi in a cool demeanor that angered her. I was also disappointed by his lack of ethics when it came to one of his patients and how close he became to him. Ransom's a young man desperate to find someone to love him just for himself. His little lost boy persona had me wanting to hug him while his sexy rock god persona easily brought about other naughty thoughts. My least favorite character was Heidi who I found selfish. She was willing to sacrifice a marriage any woman would want, along with manipulating a young man who clearly had issues, all in the name of her finding sexual satisfaction. People saw her as cutthroat in business and I saw her as cutthroat in her personal life too along with feelings that were wishy-washy regarding love and the two men in her life. Though I was often left frustrated by Heidi's actions I was still drawn to this story. The characters were far from perfect but the insights into love and marriage were compelling. This book is part of a series but definitely stands on its own for its original, but too easily resolved, ending and unexpected twists and turns.
