Book Tour for Good Enough to Trust by Zara Stoneley (PROMO & GIVEAWAY)

I'm ending the week on a steamy note to encourage the weather to become more summery.  So today I'm bringing you Good Enough to Trust by Zara Stoneley, along with some other wonderful bloggers hosting this tour.  Keep reading to get a glimpse into the pages of this steamy book and make sure to fill out the form below for your chance to win some of Ms. Stoneley's books.

Do you trust the boy you loved, or the man you might?
Sophie has only one thing on her New Year’s resolution list – sorting out her life.
Losing her parents was hard, blaming herself hurt more – but was it really her fault, or was accepting the guilt easier than facing up to the truth?
Retracing her steps was never going to be easy, risking her heart again is even harder - and when there's two men to choose from will it be easier to trust the man she's never stopped loving, or the one that might give her the new start she needs?

EXCERPT:

The food was good, like fresh honest uncomplicated food always is. I just broke the bread into chunks and chucked everything on to a big wooden bread board that was resident on the kitchen counter and we sat, or should that be sprawled, on the floor in front of the stove and picked at the food with our fingers and the heat of the room warmed the red wine up nicely. And it heated me up more than nicely until I had to strip off the mother-friendly jumper and toss it onto the chair behind me. Which left a T-shirt that proclaimed loudly that I was ‘one hot chick’. Okay, I admit, it was probably nearly as bad as wearing knickers with ‘spank me’ on the back, or ‘unwrap me’ on the front. But I hadn’t known that I’d end the day in front of a hot stove with two men, had I?
Will eyed up the yellow chick that was set perky on my chest and grinned. “Is that hot as in, you know, hot and sweaty or as in phwoar?”
Ollie’s thigh-tingling chuckle wrapped around me as I giggled a bit self consciously.
“Well, what do you think?” A couple of glasses of wine had done a good job of squashing my honourable intentions.
“A bit of both I’d say.” The chuckle had turned to throaty murmur right by my ear, warm breath making me hotter. The cottage wasn’t that big, the living room even smaller, so three people sprawled meant we were all near enough to touch. Ollie had one elbow propped on the chair that I was leaning against, and Will’s muscled thigh was so close to mine I could feel the heat from it.
I reached back to pile my hair up on top of my head, and let some air circulate round my neck, and Ollie caught my wrists above my head.
“Messy bugger.” I jumped when he reached out and caught the tomato juice that had dribbled onto my chin with one elegant finger. The finger lingered over my lips and it was just an automatic reaction to lick it clean, slowly, as I matched his dark stare which seemed to hold almost a challenge.

Book Spotlight for Flawless by Cat Grant

Cat Grant's Irresistible Attraction series comes to an end with Flawless and she's ending things in an engaging way.  So keep reading to discover more about this book that's in the spotlight today.....

Steve Campbell used to be a player, until a mid-life crisis opened his eyes to his long-repressed love for Connor, his soon-to-be-married best friend and business partner. Coming out at thirty-eight means learning how to date all over again, and this time, Steve’s not willing to settle for empty one-night stands. He wants the real thing.
Gil Alvarez has never had it easy, struggling through childhood and rejected by his family for a body that didn’t match who he was inside. A skilled driver and mechanic, he’s working hard to make his auto shop a success. The last thing he needs is a rich white guy in a candy-apple-red Ferrari tempting him, but Steve’s ready smile and easygoing manner prove irresistible.
One brief, intimate encounter leaves them both hungry for more. Gil’s not ashamed of who he is, but he’s terrified that Steve will reject him—or worse—when he discovers what Gil can’t find the courage to tell him.

EXCERPT:

Gil strapped on his own helmet, then helped Steve with his. “You ready?”
“Shouldn’t I be asking you?”
“I’m good.” And, amazingly, he was. His hands had even stopped shaking. “C’mon, it’ll be fun.”
They got in and buckled up. Gil flipped the drive mode switch over to “race,” hit the starter, and gunned the engine. It howled like a lion with its ass on fire, the car’s entire frame pulsing with power. Gil grinned. Yeah, baby. Purr for me.
“This is what this car was built for,” he shouted over the roar. “Speed, and plenty of it.” Then he put it in gear, hit the gas, and hurtled onto the track.
They sailed out of the pit lane and into a wide turn, down a stretch of straight road, under a sign bridge and into another turn. The car started to slide—and Gil’s heart jumped into his throat—but he corrected in time, though a black Alfa Romeo coming up on their tail nearly sent them spinning again.
Shit! Bastard probably did it on purpose.
Down another straight stretch with the speedometer creeping up to one-forty. They sped past the Alfa Romeo—suck on that, asshole!—under a bridge, and around another corner, banking hard to the right. Up a hill, then around another hard corner, with a dip in the road that sent Gil’s gut into free fall.
They passed two more cars as they charged up another hill and over a blind crest. Gil braked at the very top as the road corkscrewed hard left, then hard right, the altitude dropping like a stone. Barely enough time to catch his breath before they headed into a downhill sweep, the car picking up speed. Another hard left—slow in, fast out—then back into the pit, gliding to an easy stop.
“Whoa! That was a rush!” He pulled off his helmet while Steve just sat there, staring straight ahead. “You okay?”
Steve’s mouth opened, but nothing came out except a dry wheeze. Gil reached over and helped him tug his helmet off, fingers carding gently through the sweat-damp strands at the back of his neck.
So much for not getting cocky. “Sorry,” he said sheepishly. “I should’ve taken it easier. But it’s like a roller coaster, you know? The first time’s a little scary.”
“And I thought you were the one who was scared.” He exhaled, arms sliding around Gil’s waist. Gil’s eyes drifted shut at the steady thump of Steve’s heart against his chest, Steve’s soft lips brushing his ear, then trailing down his cheek.
He froze, breath hitching for a split second before he remembered no one could see them through the tinted glass. Then Steve’s lips closed over his, and he was tumbling into freefall again, heady exhilaration flooding his veins. All they needed was to relax and enjoy the ride.
Just like the bulge in Steve’s pants told Gil how much he was enjoying this. “Want to go again?”
“Hell, yeah.” Steve beamed. “Let’s see who wants to race us.”

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THE BOOK:

It's been a long and emotional journey to reach this final book in the Irresistible Attraction series and it's a memorable way to wrap things up as it deals with an issue not dealt with very often in stories......life as a transgender individual.  Ms. Grant deals with the issue in a straight forward and realistic way making the character of Gil both sympathetic and heroic.  It also brings back Steve who until recently has been playing the field but who has become older and wiser and now yearns for something more permanent.

Steve hasn't always been likable, but since admitting his sexuality he's become a more thoughtful and caring individual and seeing him so concerned about another person warms my heart.  The feelings Gil inspires in him caught him off guard and seeing a bumbling Steve try to woo him was a sweetly endearing sight to see.  Everything else has come so easy to Steve it's about time that he's had to work for something, that makes their relationship more worthwhile.

Gil's life has been one betrayal after another.  First it's his body that betrays him as he knows he's been born the wrong sex, then it's his family who turns on him and casts him out, and the final betrayal is that of a former lover whose addictive lifestyle almost dragged him down completely and whose return again sets him up for more hurts. Steve is the first person in a long time to make him feel special and to want him as is though Gil fights him every step of the way out of fear of being hurt again.  Gil is a truly inspirational character to have gone through so much hatred early in life and still be willing to put his heart on the line.  He's truly deserving of the man Steve is now and the happiness Steve longs to bring to him.

The majority of the story is a slow build-up of trust to a final sexual interlude that is more about acceptance than sex.  There's a sense of hope at the end after so much heartache.  While this ending isn't a true HEA, there's a definite HFN conclusion that's just as satisfying.  Leading to this conclusion is one or two things that dragged this story down for me.  One of those was the sudden appearance of Chas, the ex who again brought heartache to Gil through his lying and cheating ways. He has no redeeming qualities and his sole purpose seemed to be to hurt Gil yet again and drive a wedge between him and Steve.  Considering how short the story is, valuable time was wasted on such a despicable character that should've been spent on advancing Gil and Steve's relationship.  Another thing that felt out of place was the street racing angle that was included and just as quickly excluded.  Barring these issues I still found much to enjoy and admire in Flawless and though there are some flaws I still recommend this story for its unique theme and for a truly memorable character in Gil.

My rating for this is a B-

Feature & Follow Friday.......

Hello all, it's that day of the week where we learn new things about each other and discover new blogs along the way.  We also help each other by becoming followers of one another.  Normally that following would be through GFC (which would be great if you'd still take a few seconds to do), but with that being eliminated for certain blogs (a big boo-hiss to that) I now ask that you follow through a RSS Feed (or Twitter, FB, or email) which you can find to the right.  I want to thank all of you ahead of time who choose to become a follower and make sure to let me know in the comments if you're new so I doubly make sure to follow you back.  And now for this weeks get to know me question....

Q:  Is there a song that reminds you of a book?  Or vice versa?  What is the song and book?
A:  The book that immediately came to mind is Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning, a book all about the world of rock n' roll.  The song that I most relate to it is one Ms. Cunning mentioned herself and that is Addicted by Saving Abel.

Book Tour for To Have and To Hold by Charlene Raddon (Review & GIVEAWAY)

Today I bring to you an intensely emotional historical read, To Have and To Hold by Charlene Raddon, who's a new to me author.  So keep reading to discover what makes this story so memorable and make sure to comment for your chance to win some great goodies......

A woman without a prayer…
A widow with two children, Tempest Whitney had to mortgage everything to repay the money her husband had stolen. But even as she struggles to hold onto her Utah homestead, a scheming rancher buys up her debts, demanding she either get off his land or marry him. Then a dark-haired stranger shows up, claiming to be her dead husband…
A man without a past….
Buck Maddux spent two years in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Now a death bed promise has brought him to Tempest’s dugout. A man without roots, he doesn’t plan to stay—or to feel so fiercely protective of this feisty beauty he saves from a forced marriage. Suddenly, Buck yearns for a home, a family, a lasting love. But what can he offer Tempest? The surprising answer lies in the forbidden canyons of an ancient Anasazi tribe, where fortune and danger await—along with a passion more precious than gold…

EXCERPT:

“Don’t recognize me, do you, Richard?” the man said finally.
Richard! Years had passed since Buck last heard his given name used. His grandfather’s name. Richard Henry Maddux. How proud he had been to carry that name. How badly he had let the old man down. “Should I?"
The man snorted. He was younger than Buck by about ten years.
“Ma would have kittens, hearing you say that.” He turned his profile to Buck as he watched a red-tailed hawk soar overhead.
Something clicked inside Buck’s brain. His heart began to thud. He stepped closer, examining the man's lean, hawk-nosed face, while memories—old memories put away long ago in self-defense—battered the wall that shielded Buck from the darkness of his past. “Whip?” he whispered.
The man laughed. The mocking tone, as familiar as his profile, levered another brick from Buck’s protective wall.
“No, I’m Cale. Whip . . . well, he’s another story, best saved for later.”
“Cale.” Buck’s voice was soft, a whisper of wind in the leaves. In his mind he saw twin bundles wrapped in flannel, motherless babes who wailed, waved angry fists, and demanded attention, always at the same time. An imaginary missile the size of a buffalo rammed Buck in the chest, near his heart. “Judas. Cale. I can’t believe this.” He moved quickly toward the half-brother he hadn’t seen in fifteen years, his mind so full of questions and emotions he didn’t know what to do or say first. “What are you doing here? How did you find me?”
Equally quickly, Cale backed away. Anger emanated from him like a bad odor. “Don’t bother with that phony ‘glad to see you’ act, Richard. If you gave a damn about any of us, you wouldn’t have run out on us all those years ago.”

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

To Have and To Hold is the kind of story that pulls you in from the very start and never lets go of your heart.  Ms. Raddon has turned back the clock and immersed us in a rugged historical town full of colorful characters, a hero and heroine drawn together in the most unexpected way, and a villain truly worthy of the title.

Tempest Whitney has no need for a man in her life as all they've ever brought her is pain.  From a dead ex-husband who left her with nothing while he ran off to make his fortune, to the town's richest man who sees women as his playthings and doesn't take no for an answer, to a ruggedly sexy man carrying demons of his own who swore an oath to help her.  She has two children relying on her to keep them safe as well as a drunken father who takes any extra bit of money from her. She's tired, lonely, and running out of options on how to pay off the debt she owes the disgusting and villainous Jonas Creedy.  On the day her debts are do she's forced to the altar opposite Creedy knowing the pain to come when a most unlikely savior arrives in the form of Buck Maddux claiming to be her long dead husband.  Their early interactions are volatile as she's still distrustful of him and he wants to keep his heart locked away from the sense of family and acceptance she and her kids represent.  Tempest is a tough woman who hides her fears behind a facade of belligerence and smart alecky remarks.  She fights her attraction to Buck but it's hard to ignore the loving gestures and care he shows her and her children, a longing for a real family that's always been denied her is what he unknowingly offers her.

Buck considers himself a loner, a man unworthy of happiness because of a cruel twist of fate when he was younger.  A recent stint in jail has him further questioning his reliability and right to claim someone as good and special as Tempest.  But the more time they spend together the more he can't deny the joy and happiness they bring one another. He feels selfish wanting to claim her but she offers him understanding and acceptance from the grief he carries and he'll ultimately put his life on the line for her to prove his worthiness.

Along with a wonderful main couple whose attraction grows slowly from allies to friendship to lovers, there's a wonderful cast of colorful secondary characters who add some heartache and heartwarming moments to this picture of small town living.  From the hookers with a heart of gold to an old one-eyed woman who talks to her dead husband to a giant Swede looking for his own special someone it's easy to become fully immersed in this story as you root for so many HEAs.  These unlikely allies work together to end the plans of the truly vile and nasty Jonas who I wished death upon every moment he was on the page!

This is a story that makes you laugh with its witty banter between the protagonists while breaking your heart over the pain these two kind yet hardhearted people have had to endure.  The sexual interludes are a rich reward after witnessing their slowly evolving relationship full of sexual tension.  There's a definitive and immensely satisfying HEA that still allows an opening for another story branching off this heartfelt world thanks to a missing relative of Buck's.  Ms. Raddon's writing style transported me back in time to a memorable place and time and I look forward to the heartbreaking journey she'll take us on next.

My rating for this is an A.

Book Tour for Elemental Fire by K.D. Grace (Review & GIVEAWAY)

I'm so excited to be hosting K.D. Grace again today with the final book in her Lakeland Heatwave series, Elemental Fire.  Today you'll get a glimpse into this story, along with my reviews of each book, along with the chance to win some prizes for following the tour.  So keep reading to learn about Elemental Fire......

First of all let me say how happy I am to be guesting again on WOW From the Scarf Princess. And I’m especially pleased to be here on my blog tour for my new novel, Elemental Fire. Thanks so much for having me!
Earth and fire, you can’t really have one without the other. Our planet lives and breathes because of its volcanic activity. I’ve just come back from nine days in Oregon, a living monument of what fire does to earth and what earth then does with the volcanic rock that results.
Our planet lives because of its molten core, the movement of which generates the electro-magnetic field that protects our planet from the sun’s deadly radiation and from solar winds that could literally blow our atmosphere away. In essence that molten core allows our planet to bloom and grow and breathe. No fire inside equals no life outside.

The Lake District has its own version of Earth and Fire. The Ska Fell range is the remnant of an ancient volcano. And on Honister Pass, where more than a little of the Lakeland trilogy action takes place, a good bit of Fleet with Pike is hollowed out do to slate mining. Most of the slate in the Lake District has been quarried, but because of Fleetwith Pike’s hard volcanic capstone the expensive and beautiful Honister slate has to be mined.

I really wasn’t thinking about the science of fire and earth when I wrote Elemental Fire, the third book in the Lakeland Heatwave Trilogy. When I conceived the idea of the Lakeland Trilogy I was thinking of the four directions of a magical circle and the powers they represent in the pagan world.
The Elemental Coven was imagined with the idea of one person representing each element and being charged with the guardianship of that element and that compass direction. In the beginning of the trilogy, the Elemental Coven, decimated by the evil demon, Deacon, is a coven made up almost entirely of ghosts except for the coven’s high priestess, Tara Stone, who is guardian of the North and of the element of Earth. Through the course of the trilogy, as the coven is restored to its full strength and is once again able to do battle with Deacon, each of the directions receives a new living guardian imbued with new love and lust and the spark of fire that drives everything that lives. As the coven is rebuilt and it’s sex magic strengthened, Deacon’s desire for and connection to the coven also grows.
When Kennet Lucian shows up, first in Tara’s dreams, and then in her bed, he doesn’t come alone. He has allowed himself to be possessed by the fire demon, Lucia, who has her own secrets and her own reasons for wanting Deacon destroyed. But Kennet has a fire of his own that ignites passion Tara Stone has been afraid to feel for a very long time. With Kennet possessed by Lucia, the coven is ready to face Deacon in the final battle, which will either destroy him for good or tear the coven apart. When fire and earth come together, how can the attraction and the results be anything but volatile? When sex and magic ignites the whole world of the Elemental Coven and when the stakes are a matter of life and death, is there room for love in a world where the price for defeating Deacon is higher than anyone in the coven could have ever imagined?

Obsessed with revenge, KENNET LUCIAN makes a deal with a demon, a deal he comes to regret when he meets TARA STONE, head of the Elemental Coven, and a powerful witch with a desire for revenge at least as great as his. Even though the attraction between the two is magnetic and the lust combustive, Kennet must betray her to accomplish his goal, which is ultimately her goal as well; to put a final end to the demon, Deacon’s, reign of terror. But can Tara trust the man who has wormed his way into her heart and the heart of the Elemental Coven? Can she trust LUCIA, the demon with whom Kennet is allied, a demon with her own agenda. The path to Deacon’s destruction is far from clear, and the price that must be paid to be free of him forever may be too high, even for Tara Stone.

EXCERPT:

‘Will you dream with him?’ Cassandra asked, as she handed Tara the last pot.
‘I don’t see that I have much choice, do I?’
‘Is it really that much of a hardship?’
They both turned to find Kennet standing in the door of the greenhouse.
Tara laid aside her dibber and gently touched Cassandra’s hand feeling the welcome buzz of her power. ‘Go and tell the others to prepare the Dream Cave.’
Once she was gone, she turned her attention back to her seedlings.
Kennet moved inside and pulled the door to. ‘I understand you not trusting me,’ he said. ‘I’d feel the same way, I’m sure. But Tara, I’m not the enemy. I need you to believe that.’ He rested a hand on her shoulder, and she stiffened.
Carefully he removed it and turned his attention to stroking the leaves of the thyme plants. ‘You’re afraid,’ he said, his voice barely more than a whisper.
‘Aren’t you?’ She continued to fuss over the seedlings, mostly just to stave off the panic of his nearness.
‘Terrified.’ His answer surprised her.
She turned to face him and as she looked up into his eyes, it suddenly felt like she had looked into the sun.
‘But not for the same reasons you are,’ he said. He crooked a finger under her chin so she couldn’t look away. ‘Why do you make love only with ghosts?’
Everything in her wanted to turn and flee before it was too late, but she stood her ground and held his gaze. ‘It hasn’t ended well for the living when I’ve had sex with them.’
‘Are you afraid it won’t end well for me?’
She didn’t answer. She was afraid of what might happen if she tried to speak. There were too many memories too close to the surface, memories she had taken lifetimes to bury deep, and this man had dug them all up in only a few hours.
He took both of her hands, ignoring the compost on her fingers, then brushed a kiss gently across her lips, making her want like she hadn’t allowed herself to want in a very long time. Then he pulled away and brushed the pad of his thumb along her lower lip. ‘I’m already dead, Tara. Physically I may not be a ghost, but I’m already dead. Everything that I lived for was taken from me seven years ago.’
She pushed him away. ‘Seven years? Only seven years? You’re not dead yet, Kennet. You haven’t even begun to die. You haven’t had nearly enough years to really beg for death, long for death, pray that it’ll come in the night and set you free.’ She reached for the staging table for support. Her knees were weak, her insides felt like snow on the wind. ‘But then you realize that you’ll be no freer of him dead than you are alive. So no, you’re not dead, Kennet. Don’t even wish for it, and if you think your pet demon will protect you, then you don’t know demons.’
This time he grabbed her by the front of her shirt and pulled her to him with such force that she gasped out loud. He took her mouth with stunning anger, like nothing she’d ever felt before, and she returned his assault with her own rage, meeting his tongue thrust for angry thrust, bruising his lips with the force of mouth and teeth, biting and aching, as he bit back. Then he pulled away breathless. ‘She’s not my pet demon, Tara and, trust me, I fucking know demons.’
Then they were kissing again as though they would tear each other apart, as though they would rip the very breath from each other in angry, scorched shreds. His hands moved to her hips, and he hoisted her onto the staging table, shoving aside the gypsy skirt until she could feel the rough wood against the silk of her panties. He fingered aside the crotch and she tried to squirm away from him. ‘I don’t fuck the living,’ she gasped against his mouth, then she bore down as his thick middle finger found its way between her labia and thrust upward. She pulled him to her even as she tried to push him away with her words.
‘Yes you do, as of this morning you do. You need it, I need it, and it’s time you stopped letting Deacon call the shots.’
She felt his last words like a slap and like an aphrodisiac at the same time, and everything in her felt wet with need. ‘Do it, goddamnit,’ she growled. ‘If you’re gonna do it, do it and don’t make me wait!’ She grabbed for his fly with an awkward grip from a bad angle that caused him to flinch and push her hand aside. ‘Damn it, get them off,’ she gasped, ‘I can’t wait!’
With trembling hands he practically ripped the zipper out of his fly, then shoved his jeans and boxers down around his hip and his erection bounced free from its exquisite nest of copper brown curls. The view was brief, and she told herself in a sliver of a thought that was left to her, that sometime she’d like to linger and explore, though in her heart she didn’t really believe she’d ever be afforded that luxury, so she’d take what he’d give her.
Once again he tore at her panties until they were stretched over one buttock and she could feel the cool air of the greenhouse against her gape, then while she held herself open, he cupped his hands under her arse and lifted her from the table, down onto his heft. With a grunt and a slight thrust, he pressed up into her, and she yielded like soft butter, then gripped like a fist. Then she grabbed him by the hair and pulled his face back to hers, and their tongue dance matched the rhythm of the thrust and glide. Grunts became feral cries, throats became raw, and vision blurred in searing heat that had nothing to do with Lucia.
‘Great Goddess,’ he gasped. ‘If I’m not dead, I’m dying now, and it’s your fault.’
She bit his neck hard and he flinched and surged inside her tight grip. ‘You asked for it, and I don’t believe in making people beg.’
‘I can’t think of a better way to go,’ he grunted.
In truth, she wasn’t entirely sure she wasn’t dying right along with him, but it didn’t really matter, dead or alive, it was pretty much the same to her.
‘Fuck,’ he breathed between barely parted lips. ‘I can’t hold back any longer, woman. I have to come now.’ And as his cock convulsed inside her, and his groin raked upward against her clit, she came in great sobs that made her throat ache, that made her body feel like some animal, curled deep at her centre, had awakened ravenous and needy with an emptiness to fill that was bigger than the void. And strangely enough, Kennet Lucian felt like he might begin to touch the emptiness.
For a long time, he held her there, both of them gasping for breath, her arms and legs wrapped around him, his large hands cupping her bottom. ‘Tara,’ he whispered against her ear. ‘Please trust me.’
She ran a hand through his hair and nipped his ear with her teeth. ‘Then prove to me that I can.’

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As the final book in Lakeland Heatwave Trilogy, an exciting and sexy journey comes to an end in an action-packed story that races to an immensely satisfying conclusion.  Tara Stone and her sexy coven are back for a final battle against the demon, Deacon, and will need all the power they can get to do so.  The way they gain that power is through sex, featuring every kind of coupling possible.  While these scenes are steamy they also reflect a sense of family and support for one another.  And with a villain like Deacon they'll need all the help they can get as he's capable of entering other's dreams and twisting perceptions to weaken his adversaries.
Tara and Kennet don't trust each other but can't deny their attraction.  They're a powerful and compelling couple and I found myself fully immersed in their lives.  They'll have to work through their issues as only together can they defeat Deacon.  As the story deals with their distrust and lust, the action races to an all out war and a satisfying conclusion to this story and the entire series.  I was sad this ended but look forward to what Ms. Grace has planned next.

This second book in the series picks up right where the first left off as the coven has to work together to fight the increasingly powerful demon, Deacon.  In this story we have Cassandra, who has a unique ability that can only be brought out fully by the ghost Anderson.  They can only be together in the Ether though which can be dangerous, so their attraction could get them killed.  Cassandra wants answers though and is willing to brave everything to get them as her coven needs her.  She must embrace her past for the future she wants with Anderson.  This story is hot from the beginning and as sex is what fuels them, you see lots of sexual encounters.  Surprisingly, these scenes gave great insight into the characters and I found myself completely immersed in their lives.  Along with the main characters you get a glimpse of characters from the past who add to an already exciting and fast-paced story that leaves you clamoring for the next installment.

My rating for this is a B+

The Lakeland Heatwave Trilogy gets off to a intriguing start in this sexy yet action-packed story that starts out slow but quickly gains speed.  For American Marie, a sexy dream introduces her to a whole new world of witches, magic, and sex.  As she learns the true extent of her abilities she realizes the deadly demon she's unleashed, Deacon, seeks to destroy all and only the Elementals coven can stop him.  Joining her in her journey is Tim and together their connection will get them through the danger ahead.
There's a lot of set-up in this story with lots of characters and explanations about this magical world that weigh the story down at first but it quickly becomes apparent how important each and every person and action is.  Ms. Grace has created a unique world where sex is as important as breathing and beautifully balanced the steaminess with substance and leaves you wanting more....
