Review for Sirus Bandai-The Invisible Bandit by Casey Sheridan

As a fan of superheroes I found Casey Sheridan's Sirus Bandai-The Invisible Bandit utterly delightful.  Throw in some hot and heavy action in and out of the bedroom and this book had me thinking of superheroes in a brand new way that has me obsessed with them even more.  I was drawn to the characters, the fast-paced storyline and the creative use of scientific theories, but the man who wins the girl at the end of the story left me ambivalent.  And I have a feeling other readers will feel the same.  After seeing both men in action, and knowing the internal psychological struggles Ciara was going through, I can understand why she was drawn to both.  But at the end of the day I can't say that the better man won, but it was the better man for who Ciara became by the end of the story.

There's a sense that Casey Sheridan loves superheroes as much as I do.  The lovingly, and humorously, named members of the Integrity Alliance showed a fondness for what they represent.  Many of the superhero origin stories we're familiar with were utilized here which made it even more endearing to fans like me.  Like the most recent Batman incarnation, the heroes of this story don't always do good just as the villains too show a softer side.  This created an interesting dichotomy that kept me fully immersed in the story and gives more understanding to Ciara's ultimate choice for a HEA.

The women in this story were strong both mentally and physically and they kept up with the boys quite nicely.  The men were physically strong, and sexy too, which led to numerous heartpounding fight scenes that were vividly depicted.  The villains in this story never did dastardly deeds which left them rather endearing with their petty crimes and larger than life personalities.  The hidden identity and reason behind Moose Hannigan's revenge was obvious to me early on but it took until virtually the end of the story for the truth to come out which made the denouement feel rushed.

With its steamy sexual interludes that were perfectly spaced throughout the story and memorable cast of colorful characters, Casey Sheridan has created  an incredibly entertaining story that I long to see more of.  The premise is an exciting one that would make an incredible series, so here's hoping Ms. Sheridan agrees.  Please read this book and see for yourself what a summer blockbuster looks like in literary form!
