Book Tour for Love Beyond Curve by Kate Patrick (Review & GIVEAWAY)

Those looking for a special kind of romance will find just what Cupid ordered in the newest release by Kate Patrick, Love Beyond the Curve. Today you get a glimpse of this romantic and emotional tearjerker along with the chance to win some great goodies just for commenting. So keep reading to learn about this special book.....

Charlotte is shocked to find her new landlord, Reed Jackson, is tall, dark, and gorgeous.  The two become fast friends, enjoying times spent together, more than times apart. Charlotte can’t believe that Reed finds her curvaceous figure incredibly sexy.  Can Reed convince her he wants to be more than just “friends with benefits”?
Will Charlotte and Reed find… Love Beyond the Curve?

EXCERPT:

“Why aren’t you out dancing with someone tonight?”  Reed pushed back his chair to fully recline.  He seemed to be settling down to ask a lot of questions about her.
“What?  And have to get dressed and miss an evening eating brownies with my crippled friend? No way.” She laughed heartily, winking at him.
“I’m glad you came over.  I actually felt kind of jealous when you said you had to get rid of your guy friend.” Reed confessed his feelings as he looked down at his propped leg.
“Have you ever seen anyone at my place?  Where do you think I would have found him?  I work mostly with other women, and all of my patients are under the age of sixteen, usually twelve.  You are hilarious, Jackson.” She threw a pillow at his head.
He blocked it with his arm and yelled at her in defense. “Hey!  What was that for?  I was jealous.”
Charlotte stood up and said with her hands on her hips, “I can take this kind of shit from a lot of guys, even Matt and Octopus Man, but not from you.  I somehow thought you were different, and we were really becoming good friends.  Your skinny, beautiful girlfriend is out tonight, so the coast is clear to make a play for the fat neighbor.  Well, to hell with that, and to hell with you, too.”
She was walking to the door the whole time she had been yelling at him.  Reed was shocked by her reaction to his confession.
“Charlotte, I wasn’t… It wasn’t like that.  I truly didn’t like it.  Don’t go.” he yelled back at her as she slammed the door closed behind her.
He managed to get himself up on his crutches, and head to the bedroom.  He hadn’t had a shower since Friday morning, and he needed one now.  He would just stand on his crutches, but he was going to have a shower.  Maybe while he was in there, he would figure out how to deal with Charlotte and her damned insecurities.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
Kate Patrick has written a story that drew me in from the very start with its realistic look at the pitfalls of relationships in a heartwarming and expressive way.  Charlotte has always been made to feel unworthy by those who see her as overweight.  Men sees her as either their dirty little secret or as their buddy.  These actions have stuck with her and left her full of self-doubt and questioning every man's interest.  Though she accepts her weight and knows it will always be a struggle the actions of others keep haunting her and it will take a strong man to win her and her inner demons over.  I adored Charlotte and found much to admire about her.  She's kindhearted through all her emotional ups and downs and strong-willed at first which is why it's sad to see the self-doubt eating away at her confidence.  Enter landlord Reed who's just the man she needs as he says everything she deserves to hear.
Reed is growing bored with his superficial, self-involved, skinny girlfriend and senses something special in the kindhearted Charlotte when they first meet.  He senses the self-doubt she hides behind humor and what starts out as friendship soon morphs into fantasies of what could be.  He takes it slow in his romantic battle against her inner demons which allows the sweetness of a first date to move to the sexual tension of unending foreplay.  Along the way Reed says all the right romantic things that every woman longs to hear.  He shares his feelings and actually listens when she talks and he completely won me over.  In most stories it would be the woman who acts this way, but in this story there's a role reversal that's very refreshing.  It's now Charlotte who allows emotions to act as a roadblock to their HEA and I applaud this updated view of modern relationships.
This was a heartwarming story that tugged at my heart.  It shows that the outer package means nothing when compared to the heart and soul of the inner package and true romantics will find themselves drawn wholeheartedly to this theme as well.  With a couple worth rooting for and a romantic and sexually intense courtship, this story and its message stays with you long after the final page is turned.

My rating for this is a B+

AUTHOR INFO:

Kate Patrick grew up in the South. She can’t recall a time in her life when she didn’t love to read. She remembers going to the library as a child where she devoured biographies and Nancy Drew mysteries. Her love of reading has continued into adulthood, but it is hot romance that she loves to write! While in high school and college, she and her sister began to write romantic stories about girls that met their dream guys who fell instantly in love with them. Even these early manuscripts were spicy enough that the need to “hide” these notebooks was a high priority when leaving the house!
Writing took a backseat to a teaching career, marriage, and motherhood, though books were constant companions. Love stories became a favorite, and began to take the place of mysteries more and more. About three years ago, the idea of writing was rekindled. Now, you can find her late at night typing away by the blue glow of her laptop screen.
She and her husband live on the Gulf Coast with their son and three quirky Pomeranians. When not writing or reading, Kate loves to sing, dance, and watch romantic movies, side-splitting comedies, and crime dramas. Spending time connecting with family and friends is an important priority for her as well.

It stinks that your Mardi Gras is off to such a soggy start! I've always wanted to attend and experience the excitement.
