What will happen when Gus’ father tries to split them up? And what surprises does Nelson have up his sleeve?
EXCERPT:
Nelson paced the deck, waiting and checking the air until he smelled the familiar scent from the dining hall. Following it, he found his mate standing by the door leading to the cabin stairs. He was so young. Was he even of mating age? He smelled nervous, not terrified though. That had to be a good start; right?
The young man turned as he approached, and Nelson held out his hand. “Hi. Gus?"
Gus took his hand, sending sparks rushing up Nelson’s arm; and by the widening of hiseyes, Gus felt it too.
“Yes, and you must be Nelson.” Gus’ voice was low, and Nelson shivered as it seemed to caress him in the low light of the moon and stars.
“Um. Do you want to walk with me?” Nelson asked, fumbling for something to say. He mentally kicked himself. He was forty years old; he’d had plenty of lovers before. However, he’d hadn’t found his mate until now. The good opinion of the young man in front of him meant everything to Nelson. that was making him nervous as hell.
Gus chuckled, though the sound had an edge to it. “Sure."
Nelson held out his arm, and when Gus took it with a shy smile, he led the way toward the fore of the ship.
“So, what’s it like being related to Lord St. John?” Nelson asked, plucking the first question that came to mind. He cursed when Gus stiffened beside him.
“Hmm. That depends. If you like to do as you’re told and live by someone else’s rules, it’s great. Otherwise, not so much.”

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Fans of May-December relationships will find much to like in this collection of ten m/m-fueled romances.  With its various settings of sci-fi to paranormal and from contemporary to historical there's a bit of something for everyone.  Though most of the stories are short there's still enough substance in them to engage readers into each story.  Those that are longer created an enticing world that readers will want to revisit.  As with any anthology, some stories are more polished than others and more fleshed out too.  One of my favorites is American Master Baker for its fun and flirty dialogue and dirty talk revolving around food and cooking techniques.  It was an enemies to lovers tale and put a smile on my face as the two bakers waged a steamy war to win the ultimate prize of love. Another favorite was Lost and Found where mutual loss, and a love of dogs, brought two kindhearted men together.  It's a heartwarming story that let the connection grow slowly, immersing readers in their recovery and journey to HEA.  On a whole this was a well-crafted collection that nicely balanced steamy encounters with engaging storytelling that will leave readers wanting more from these authors.

My rating for this is a B+
