RT Book Reviews proclaims that the O’Brien Family series from award-winning author Cecy Robson “has the hottest brothers ever!” And in Crave Me, it’s time for the sole sister in the family to discover love.
Wren O’Brien isn’t your typical female. As the only girl from a loud Irish family with seven siblings, she prefers fast cars to lip gloss and bad boys to good men. It’s the reason she’s nursing a wounded soul and keeping her distance from a dangerous ex.
Evan Jonah is running an empire and just moved from the lavish thoroughfares of London to the gritty streets of Philadelphia. When he walks into the nearest dealership, he’s expecting to find a reliable vehicle to handle the brutal winters, not a sexy female car rep with killer legs.
Wren doesn’t know why “Hotness in a Suit” asked her out. She doesn’t expect a great time or a night of passion that knocks her on her ass. But that’s exactly what Evan shows her.
She also never counted on how hard and fast she’d fall. But men like Evan—good men with even better hearts—don’t desire tough-talking Philly girls for long.
Evan has never met a woman like Wren. But he’s up for the challenge and ready to prove her wrong.

EXCERPT:

“Get the hell out of here."
Evan lowers his plastic menu, laughing softly at my remark. When he first walked into the dealership, I couldn’t quite figure him out. The sides of his cashmere coat parted when he moved, exposing what has to be a very pricey suit. But while he’s clean shaven, he’s not exactly clean-cut.
His dark wavy hair curls around his ears, long enough that I can tell he’s overdue for a trip to the barber, but not so long he appears unkempt. I take another long look at his straight nose, broad shoulders, and perfect posture. No, he’s not unkempt. He’s cute. Damn cute if you like pretty boys with deep green eyes with specks of gold and a jawline angels must have chiseled from granite.
“I’m serious,” he tells me, the way he looks at me taking him from damn cute to sexy. “I’ve never eaten a cheesesteak."
I reach for the iPad tucked in the bag at my feet to give me an excuse to break away from those pretty eyes and thick lashes that curl at the tips. “So when I asked you if you wanted to go out for steaks, you weren’t picturing enough flat screens to fill a cruise ship and Yeung-Ling on tap?"
“Is Yeung-Ling a beer?” he asks.
I cringe, setting my iPad in front of me. “Oh, Evan, you have a lot to learn if you plan on staying in Philly for the long haul.”

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

The outspoken yet loyal O'Brien clan return in this scorching tale with a bit of suspense thrown in courtesy of a vile ex and a grasping woman.  Add in a scorching romance where opposites attract and it all adds up to an engaging read that had me turning the pages furiously.

Wren is the only girl in a family of six brothers who's always prided herself on being strong.  She always thought she could defend herself but one night of trusting the wrong person left her full of doubts and shame that have tarnished every chance at happiness since that night.  Meeting Evan, the workaholic Brit, has her seeing things in a whole new light and drawn to him despite trying to stay away to save him from the baggage she carries.  As her past creeps ever closer, the connection they've forged could be over just as it's begun, leaving both of their lives in jeopardy.  Wren's an outspoken woman who's not afraid to tell it like it is.  She's full of life and makes friends easily as she bursts in on things unrepentantly.  Her connection to Evan is combustible resulting in numerous erotic encounters, but they also had moments of heartfelt talks that solidified their feelings for each other.  Wren's ultimately a strong-willed heroine, teeming with a caretaking nature, brought low by a painful event in her past that she eventually rises above with Evan's support.  I admired her for her no-nonsense attitude and larger-than-life personality which brought a smile to my face.

Evan's childhood was one lacking in love due to a cold and uncaring mother and a father who died before his time.  Sent to boarding school he had no real friends but plenty of time to become a computer genius.  His whole life has been about saving his company and becoming a success, which has left him lonely as previous relationships were cold and calculating.  Meeting Wren is electrical as she shocks him at every turn with her crass language and outspoken ways. She's full of life which he wants to cling to as his rocky business and his worker's questionable loyalties are wearing on him.  He longs to have someone on his side which Wren quickly becomes as they mix business and pleasure. When Wren's past gets thrown in his face though he'll have to decide if he can support her unconditionally or go back to his life of loneliness which has him making a surprisingly bold decision.  At the start of the story Evan's a bit buttoned-up, too staid, to seem like a match for Wren but her fun and flirty nature brings out a charming side to him.  Being with her brings him to life, in and out of the bedroom, to make them an entertaining couple that scorched the pages.  Evan became a delicious hero as the story progressed as his heart opened up and he started making connections.  He said all the right things to make him the quintessential book boyfriend and his care and concern for Wren and others endeared him to me.

This was a compelling addition to the series that gave us glimpses of all the family members and their caring yet mocking familial connection.  Their banter made me chuckle as well as smile at their unwavering support of one another. Evan and Wren may appear to be opposites but they quickly click in a scorching relationship full of heart and numerous erotic encounters.  The danger to Wren, the villain set on making her pay, is obvious from the start but that in no way diminishes how much hate I had for them.  The acts that are directed towards her though become increasingly over-the-top, a bit too melodramatic, which diminished the impact of that part of the fast-paced conclusion.  Though this is part of the O'Brien family series in stands nicely on its own but readers will want to read it from the start as each member of this family is more delightful than the next.  The romantic set-up in this story between attorney Declan and the deaf woman he can't seem to win over is immensely charming and has me excited for the next installment and seeing the talented Ms. Robson craft yet another unforgettable couple.

My rating for this is a B+/A-
