Cobra
I’ve lived two lives.
One full of innocence and one full of sin.
I mourned the perfect life I was born into and made it my duty to chase the phantom who stole it from me.
Revenge, mayhem and loss are all I know.
I am the lone man—I am the wanderer.
The former nomad—now, Satan’s deadliest soldier.
The two worlds were never supposed to collide.
Innocence and sin aren’t made to coexist yet somehow my past bleeds into the present and I find myself facing my biggest regret…I find myself face to face with her—the girl who got away.
The girl I let go.
The woman I’ll ruin if I stay.
Celeste
Our young love was marred by violence.
Our guilt destroyed us, fate tempted us but, it was he who broke us.
They say time heals all, but all time did was dull the ache of his abandonment.
Now, dressed in leather, covered in ink the boy I mourned is now a man—a man tormented by his demons.
In another life we were everything to one another.
In this life we’re strangers.

EXCERPT:

Drawing in a deep breath, I reach for the knob, twisting it until I open the door and step into dangerous terrain. Closing the door behind me I stagger into the darkness of the room, feeling along the walls as I walk further into Cobra’s territory. A waft of stale smoke assaults my senses as I glance around the small, dated room. My roaming gaze comes to a halt, landing on the man twisted in the sheets of the bed. Tucking my bottom lip between my teeth, a wave of longing washes over me as I stare at the corded muscles of his back and all the colorful tattoos that seem to take up every inch of his skin. So many colors, so much story in each piece. As I gravitate toward the bed the urge to trace every single one consumes me.
It’s not the promise of the man I’m hooked on.
It’s the man.
It’s this incredibly mysterious man that I used to know.
“I’m not dreaming,” he mumbles into the pillow, startling me.
My knees touch the edge of his bed as his thick, raspy voice blankets me and sends a shiver up my spine. It’s not new—that voice was there years ago too. It’s the voice of sex, of carnal pleasure and the promise of bliss. It’s predatory, feral and so damn tempting.
“No you’re not.” The words are a breathy whisper, a tone he’ll recognize. One that is as sinful as his.
We’re in trouble.
So much fucking trouble.
His head slowly rises from between the pillows and his eyes slice to me, squinting as if he’s witnessing a mirage.
“Feel you in my bones, Cel,” he explains huskily before dropping his face into his pillow.
“I’m sorry, Deuce let me in. I could go, maybe--"
He rolls over on his side, the sheets twist at his waist, leaving very little to the imagination as his eyes skate over me.
“Don’t know why you’re here, don’t care too much either, but thankful as fuck for whatever brought you here, gorgeous,” he says, a lazy smirk tipping his lips as he extends a hand. “Get over here,” he demands.
I should have been prepared.
I should have known that a higher force always has a plan for us.
I should have been stronger.
I should have known he’d hook me with a look and I’d crawl into bed with him.
I should have known old habits are hard to break.
I should have known old loves never die.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Ms. Bosco has done it again and crafted a story that tugged at my heart while keeping my pulse pounding through the life and death decisions made by the loyal and loving men of the Satan's Knights MC.  It's a gritty world depicted here, a world where lives are a commodity in a war started in the previous book in this series, and raises the stakes even higher by the final page.

Jagger grew up in an idyllic family, loving a girl whose smiles he cherished above all else, until the day his twin sister vanished without a trace.  From that moment on his life was torn asunder, he became a shadow in his own life, with only Celeste to keep him breathing.  Their happiness wasn't enough for him though as revenge drove him to become Cobra, as his life became a journey full of blood and rage.  The one bright spot in that lonely journey was a single night of love with the woman he left behind and which unbeknownst to him led to a child.  Reuniting with her after the bombing of his Club's house, he and Celeste now have a long road ahead as the safety of his Club wars with his wanting to protect his newfound family.  When his new family is put in danger though his whole past flashes before his eyes as he gets caught in a hail of bullets that had my heart stopping.  Cobra's a compelling hero, a bit tarnished, but devoted to those he calls family.  The pain he's lived with since the disappearance of his sister was palpable and had me aching for him.  He's desperate to do right by all the people counting on him and his emotional tug-of-war tore at my heart as he was ultimately willing to sell his body and soul to do what he felt he had to do. He's a strong-willed man, rugged, with an air of danger surrounding him.  But being with Celeste and his daughter brings out a soft side, a side that warmed my heart with his sweet words and gentle touches.  The image he shows to the world of a badass biker melts by the wayside when with his girls which is why I was screaming for him to find HEA.

Celeste was left with her own baggage after the disappearance of her best friend, and sister to Jagger.  She was supposed to be working in her friend's place that night but instead spent it in Jagger's arms.  The guilt weighed on her and had her living her life in honor of her friend, instead of for herself.  It's not until Jagger leaves without a trace that she becomes her own person again.  Her unexpected one-night stand with Cobra further alters her life as she now has a child to protect from a world full of cruelty.  Reuniting with Cobra is both Heaven and Hell for her as she's completely drawn to him, drawn to his protective nature and seductive words and deeds, but fears that he'll choose revenge over her again.  He's all man now, but she still sees bits of the boy as he tenderly cares for his newfound family.  She seems to accept his dual devotion, to her and to his Club, but when Club business lands on her doorstep she lashes out. It was understandable at the time but it saddened me as he had committed himself to her and his child through words and deeds wholeheartedly.  Despite that one moment of doubt I still liked Celeste as she was a good match for him. They both had a crazy side growing up, but as adults they take life very seriously and relish every moment of being together.  They have a bond over their shared painful pasts that allows them to understand each other like no other.  Their love was meant to be and it was a hard-fought battle to reach their cheer-inducing HEA.

This was a powerful story from the first page to the last as events from the previous installment in this series ran in tandem with this tale.  The danger from a rival Club has evolved into a greater attack from a truly vile man who leaves his mark during this book's jaw-dropping bonus epilogue.  More women will be hurt in the vividly depicted international slavery/drug ring that affects every character in the gritty world of the Satan's Knights MC.  It's a story arc that pulls no punches and has me fully immersed in the outcome as I've come to care for these characters.  Jagger and Celeste broke my heart at times as they wanted nothing more than a simple life full of love and children.  Fate bruised them but didn't beat them as their love saw them through all the crushing highs and lows.  Their connection was both erotically-charged and sweetly sensual and I longed for them to get their richly-rewarding HEA.  Supporting them every step of the way were the men and women of the Satan's Knights MC who were an unconventional family but devoted and protective nonetheless.  I loved seeing past characters, and getting to know others more fully, which has me greatly anticipating the next installment.  Badass biker Deuce, who charmed me while making me laugh, was a wonderful friend to Cobra and a highlight of this story.  With Cobra's past coming back in the flesh, and Deuce's kind heart getting him wrapped up in the return, fireworks are on the horizon as the bonus epilogue brings the war even closer to home.  Ultimately this was an all-consuming romance that pulled my emotions in every direction and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough with each word on the page pulling me even deeper into this world.  It's a raw, gritty, tale that I recommend highly to those who want realistic characters forced into real situations.  It's an epic tale that has me counting down the days until I can revisit the unforgettable members of the Satan's Knights MC!

My rating for this is an A+

THE PREVIOUS BOOK IN THE NOMAD SERIES....

DRIFTER
“Stryker"
I’m a drifter.
A man born to ride through this world alone.
There used to be a time when I thought I was the rescuing type. I enlisted in the Marines and made it my duty—I was going to save lives.
I was going to be a true American hero.
But God had another plan.
Or maybe Satan did.
For everything I touch finds mortality.
I’m no hero.
I’m nothing.
I’m a veteran biker, a former nomad who survived war only to live in hell.
Now I ride with the Satan’s Knights of Brooklyn and I’m drifting into a different kind of chaos.
The kind that revolves around a pretty girl with intoxicating green eyes.
A girl who has the power to turn me inside out.
A girl who doesn’t need anyone to rescue her because she’s her own savior.
Until she’s not.
But a man plagued by war and the devil inside him can never be her hero.
Gina Spinelli
Strong. Independent. Fierce.
They are the three things I strived to be.
But sometimes being successful can be lonely.
Sometimes a girl just wants to be a girl and have someone take care of her.
Maybe even love her.
Sometimes the strong become vulnerable.
Or worse, the victor becomes the victim.
Sometimes we lose control or in my case it’s stripped from you.
Defeated. Broken. Haunted.
They are the three things I have become.
In my darkest hour I admit defeat.
In my darkest hour I need one person.
I need him.
Stryker.
