From the wrong side of the tracks...
Alyson Blake had learned early on that the only one she could depend on was herself. The only light in her life was a boy whom everyone agreed was destined for prison; but with his first kiss, he had set her soul on fire. Since the day the police dragged him away in handcuffs, she had managed to lead a quiet life, but when she attends an event fraught with mayhem, trouble resurfaces.
The one person she can’t forget...
Jamison Weston is the kind of guy dads load their shotguns for; endowed with a hot temper and a rap sheet as long as both tattooed arms. Known as “The Judge,” Jami’s hot temper, lethal fists, and cocky attitude have earned him respect and admiration both in and out of the ring. But just when he thinks he’s pummeled his past to death, Alyson Blake reenters his life.
Two paths collide...
After years of separation, Alyson is eager to reexplore the man who’s never left her thoughts, but for Jamison, she’s both the distraction he wants, but doesn’t need. As the two embark on a relationship that neither of them expected or bargained for, an outside threat closes in. When Alyson crosses the line of professionalism and takes her work home with her, her life is put in danger, leaving Jamison with no choice but to once again step in and become her protector.

“Do you plan on coming to the gym tonight?"
“I told you,” Jami said, “I’m taking the night off."
Alyson could feel Don’s stare burning a hole in her back. “Yeah, I heard you, but I also remember telling you that you can’t afford to take time off right now."
“I hardly think skipping one evening is going to undo everything.” Jami’s words were met with tense silence. “Tonight, I’m spending time with my girl. Why don’t you go hang with your buddies? Play some poker. Drink a few beers. Loosen up. The next few days are going to be brutal. Might as well let off some steam now while we can."
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” There was another stretch of silence, and Alyson focused hard on the Celtic design under her fingertips, wishing Don would get the hint and leave already. “Just don’t get carried away. No drinking and get plenty of rest. No sex,” he clarified as his voice held a stern command.
Alyson’s muscles stiffened knowing those words were meant for her. Don had lost the battle, but he intended to win the war. Jami’s chest shook with a humorous laugh. “You know I don’t believe in that."
“Plenty of guys do, and you know what? They’re damn good fighters,” Don returned.
“Well, so am I, and I intend to fuck myself stupid over the next eight hours."
Don sighed in resignation. “I think you already reached that goal, but as long as you don’t make yourself blind, then fine, do what you want.” Another pause. “Should I find another place to sleep tonight?"
“Only if you need your beauty sleep."
“And you know that I do.” Alyson felt Jami nod. “All right, then, you two kids have fun. I’ll see you tomorrow. I meant what I said, keep it clean."
Heat burned Alyson’s cheeks as Don walked away, and she slapped her hand against Jami’s bare chest. “Jami--"
He kissed the side of her head, chuckling in amusement. “What?"
“I can’t believe you said that.” Her eyes were wide as she tugged out of his arms.
His voice sounded innocent, but his eyes were filled with playful mischief. “You know exactly what I’m talking about, mister,” she accused, pointing a finger at him. “You told him that we were… were…” The words stopped on the tip of her tongue, a fresh wave of embarrassment staining her cheeks red.
“What? That we were going to have sex?” He took a step toward her. “That I’m going to lay you down on this bed and fuck you. All. Night. Long?"
Alyson swallowed hard, her stomach fluttering in anticipation, as Jami closed the space between them and reached around to grip her butt in both hands. He pulled her against him, and she felt his hardness pressing against her stomach. “You shouldn’t have told him that,” she whispered.
“Why, because it’s not true?” Jami challenged, staring into her eyes. She shook her head. “Or because it is true? Because it is, you know. I plan to have you naked and under me all night. And, Ally, baby,” he said, touching his mouth to hers, “I’m going to fuck you so hard that when I get on that plane tomorrow, I’ll be smiling. And do you know why I’ll be smiling?” She shook her head no. “Because every time you take a step, you’re going to feel the ache of me between your legs, and I know you’ll be thinking of me."
Alyson’s eyes closed as a shiver wracked her. The full heat of Jami’s body seeped through her clothes, and her nipples tightened at the same time her sex clenched. Opening her eyes slowly, she looked into his and said huskily, “Then what are you waiting for?”
