Book Release Blast for The Boss Project by Vi Keeland……..

An unforgettable first meeting leads to the job of a lifetime as well as a fun and flirty romance that will keep readers glued to the pages.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Boss Project by Vi Keeland, then celebrate as it hits bookshelves today!

The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview.Well, technically, I’d met him twenty minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment.
I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut.
As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss.
Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought…Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.
Okay, so maybe I hadn’t exactly been changing when he walked in on me. In my defense, I’d been stuck on a hot train for two hours and wanted to make sure I didn’t smell.
I obviously didn’t expect to get the job. But somehow an invitation to a second interview arrived in my inbox.
Before I left, I asked to see Merrick. I needed to know why I was even in consideration after our disastrous start.
Turned out, Merrick only wanted to hire me because I was the least competent candidate. It seemed his board was making him fill the position, against his wishes.
I didn’t really want to work in a place where my boss expected me to fail. But I figured maybe I’d enjoy proving him wrong. It was a little thing I dubbed the boss project.
What I wasn’t prepared for was that there would be other things I’d enjoy doing to Merrick Crawford.
Getting involved with the boss wasn’t the smartest choice.
But you know what they say about choices: Some we regret, some we are proud of. I just had no idea where this one was going to land.

Book Excerpt Reveal for The Boss Project by Vi Keeland……..

An unforgettable first meeting leads to the job of a lifetime as well as a fun and flirty romance that will keep readers glued to the pages.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Boss Project by Vi Keeland, then start counting down the days until this contemporary romance hits bookshelves on July 11th!

The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview.
Well, technically, I’d met him twenty minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment.
I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut.

EXCERPT:

Merrick
“Mr. Crawford?” My assistant, Andrea, poked her head into my office while I was eating lunch with Will. “Sorry to interrupt, but HR asked me to find out if you might have time to talk with one of the candidates for the in-house therapist position?”
I shook my head. “I don’t need to talk to the applicants. I already gave my input to Joan. HR is holding second-round interviews and will let me know what they think when they’re done.”
“Apparently one of the candidates asked if she could have a minute with you after her appointment with HR. But her meeting is starting now, and I know you don’t like anything on your schedule during trading hours.”
“Which candidate?”
“Evie Vaughn.”
I leaned back in my chair with a chuckle. “Sure. Why not?”
She nodded. “I’ll let her know.”
Will lifted his chin after Andrea shut the door. “What was that little grin about?”
“One of the candidates for the stress therapist job is interesting, to say the least.”
“In what way?”
“Her first-interview appointment wasn’t until five one day last week, so when the market closed, I ran downstairs to Paloma to pick up a suit I’d bought and had tailored. After I left the store, I thought I’d forgotten my cell phone in the fitting room, so I went back to check. When I opened the door, I walked in on a woman.”
“I hate those places that have one fitting room for both men and women.”
“Actually, this place has separate ones. The woman was just in the men’s room. But that’s not the best part. When I walked in, she was half undressed...and smelling her armpit.”
Will’s brows shot up. “Come again?”
“You heard me right. Anyway, a few minutes later, my five o’clock appointment walks in, and it’s her. The woman from the fitting room.”
“The pit sniffer? Get the hell out of here. What did you do?”
“Nothing. I played it off like I didn’t recognize her, though she definitely recognized me. I could see her squirming.”
“Shit like this only happens to you, my friend. So what went down? How did the interview go?”
“She was the least-qualified candidate. I don’t even know how her resumé made it into the group that got called for interviews.”
“Yet she’s back here today for a second interview?”
“She is, indeed.”
Will shook his head. “What am I missing?”
“When I got home that night, I started thinking about how the board is shoving this position down my throat. They mandated that I hire someone, not that the person be competent.”
Will smiled. “Genius.”
I shook my head. “I need my people to be focused and ruthless while they’re here—not getting in touch with their emotions.”
“I hear you.”
As we finished lunch, Andrea returned and knocked. Evie Vaughn stood right behind her. Her wavy blond hair was up today, and she wore a simple black skirt and jacket with a red blouse underneath, giving her the sexy-librarian look every male fantasizes about at least once in his life. I tried to ignore the stir seeing her caused in me and forced my gaze down.
Andrea peeked her head in the door. “Do you need more time?”
I looked at Will. “We need to discuss anything else?”
He shook his head. “Not that I can think of. I’ll get the Endicott buy order placed as soon as it hits forty a share.”
“Good.” I turned my attention to Andrea. “Please show Ms. Vaughn in.”
Will left, tossing me a smirk over his shoulder as he passed Evie.
When the door shut, she took a few steps forward, then hesitated. “Thank you for seeing me.”
I nodded and gestured to the guest chairs on the other side of my desk. “Have a seat.”
“Your assistant mentioned you don’t usually take appointments while the market is open.”
“I don’t.” Leaning back, I tented my fingers. “What can I do for you, Ms. Vaughn?”
“It’s Evie, please. And...well, I was hoping you could clear something up for me.”
“What would that be?”
“Why am I here? For a second interview, I mean. You made it pretty clear during the first one that you didn’t think I had the right experience for the position, and I didn’t exactly make a winning first impression in that fitting room. So...why am I here again?”
I folded my arms across my chest and deliberated how to answer. The politically correct and professional response would’ve been to say I’d reconsidered based on how she’d handled herself during the interview. But I’d never been accused of being politically correct or professional.
“Are you sure you want the real answer? Sometimes it’s better not to know and just accept the outcome.”
She folded her arms across her chest, mimicking my posture. “Maybe, but I’d like to know anyway.”
I liked her spunk. It was a challenge to keep myself from smiling. “You were invited back because you are the least qualified of all of the people we interviewed.”
Her face fell, and I felt a tinge of guilt, even though she’d said she wanted the truth.
“Why would you do that?”
“Because hiring an in-house stress coach wasn’t my idea. My board of directors is forcing my hand.”
“Is it a problem because it wasn’t your idea?”
“I employ a hundred-and-twenty-five people whose jobs are to give me ideas.” I shook my head. “No, I don’t have an authority issue, Ms. Vaughn.”
She pursed her lips. “Doctor—it’s Doctor Vaughn. I prefer to be called Evie, but if you insist on using formal etiquette, you might as well use my proper title. I hold a PhD in clinical psychology.”
I couldn’t hold back the smile that time. I nodded. “Fine. No, I don’t have authority issues, Doctor Vaughn.”
“So you’re against the position, in general, and you wanted to hire the worst person to prove a point?”
I nodded once. “You could say that.”
“Are you against therapy?”
“I believe some people can benefit from therapy.”
“Some people? But not your employees? Do you believe your employees don’t have any stress in the workplace?”
“This is Wall Street, Ms. — Doctor Vaughn. If it weren’t a stressful job, my average trader wouldn’t earn seven figures. I just prefer my people to be focused while they’re here in the office.”
“Did you ever consider that you might be looking at things backward? Taking an hour out of the day to speak to someone isn’t what’s interrupting a stressed-out person’s focus. They’re already not focused because of their stress level. Therapy could help center someone so they can concentrate better.”
“Noted that there’s more than one way to look at things.” I studied her for a moment. “Is there anything else you wanted to ask? Or have we reached the point in the discussion where you tell me you hope we never see each other again?”
She smiled shyly. “I’m sorry about that. It wasn’t an appropriate thing to say.”
I shrugged. “It’s fine. Believe it or not, I’ve been accused of being inappropriate a time or two myself.”
She laughed as she stood. “Gee, I never would have guessed that from the man who sniffed me during my interview.” Evie held out her hand. “Thank you for your time. And your honesty.”

Book Tour for A Very Bossy Christmas by Kayley Loring (REVIEW)......

With the holidays fast approaching, readers will find this fun and flirty romance the perfect holiday gift as a boss has his assistant play his fake girlfriend with things quickly turning oh so real.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of A Very Bossy Christmas by Kayley Loring, along with my impressions of it, then add this festive romance to your bookshelf!

What’s the actual last thing you’d ever want your executive assistant to see you doing the morning after you had hot, drunk, angry sex with her in a terrible hotel room? Dancing around your terrible hotel room to “Come and Get Your Love” like Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy—naked? Yeah. Me too.
And yet, here we are.
This isn’t even the most unprofessional thing that’s happened between us in the past couple of weeks.
The first was when I agreed to let her have Christmas Day off, but only if she goes with me to three family gatherings as my fake girlfriend.
The second was when she caught me belting out a Christmas song on stage in the awful hotel bar.
The third was the hot, drunk, angry sex that followed, but I do not regret it.
And she hasn’t even found out the real reason I need her by my side this holiday season.
I need to pull it together before I do the dumbest, most unprofessional thing of all—fall head over heels in love with the only assistant who’s lasted more than a month at the job and claims to hate me and my moods more than she hates eggnog.
And I’ve seen how much she hates eggnog.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

The last few books I've read from this author have been winners with entertaining couples and witty banter...add in a holiday theme and I knew I had to read this book! What I got was a quickly-paced read that charmed me through playful interludes and sweet and sensual encounters between the two lead characters as well as two thoroughly entertaining families who unwittingly played matchmaker.  It's a well-crafted rom-com that warmed my heart while putting a smile on my face.

Declan Cannavale is a successful real estate attorney, one who lives to work.  That's normally a good thing as it's made him a rich man but it's causing some problems when it comes to planning for the holidays courtesy of his loud and strong-willed Irish-Italian family.  When they expect him home for the holidays he's at first able to use work as an excuse, but the moment he mentions a girlfriend is the moment he's forced into getting a fake girlfriend.  And who better than the outspoken young woman keeping his life in order.  Though their connection starts off with a contract things soon turn very un-businesslike in a crackling relationship teeming with sexual tension and humor.  Through it all I was utterly charmed by Declan, though he frustrated me a time or two, it was nothing that was meant to be hurtful.  He's a sexy man who knows what he wants, but is out of his element when it comes to women.  He's clearly thrown off his game because of Maddie and it was entertaining watching the verbal foreplay going on between them that ultimately pointed to more brewing between them.  His interactions with his family were endearing to see too and the large cast of secondary characters made me smile with their machinations.

Maddie Cooper's just what Declan needs in his life as she's the best executive assistant he's ever seen.  She's a take no prisoners woman who gives as good as she gets.  She doesn't put up with any of Declan's crap and doesn't hesitate to tell it like it is which makes her incredibly attractive to him in early hints he gives about his feelings for her. She's close to her family too which is why it's so vital for her to go home for the holidays.  But with a workaholic boss that's going to be difficult. When he makes her an offer she can't refuse though, the fake relationship he proposes becomes all too real. Maddie's a wonderful heroine, someone I can totally see as a friend.  She's sassy with a no-nonsense attitude that had me cheering her on in her back and forth banter with Declan.  Her interactions with her family were charming and funny too and including them in the story enhanced the holiday feeling.

On a whole this story made the holiday better for me.  Amidst all the chaos and uncertainty of the country right now, this book made me laugh while it warmed my heart.  The banter was crackling with tons of flirtatiousness that had me hoping they'd soon give in to each other. Add in their zany and outspoken families and I found even more to recommend this fun, flirty, and festive read!

My rating for this is an A.

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

AUTHOR INFO:

Before writing steamy romantic comedy novels, Kayley Loring got a BFA in creative writing from a Canadian university and had a fifteen-year career as a screenwriter in Los Angeles (under a different name). She mostly wrote PG-13 family comedies that studios would pay her lots of money for and then never make into movies. In 2017 she decided to move to the Pacific Northwest and write about all the fun stuff that she wasn't allowed to write about in those PG-13 scripts. Now she’s breathing cleaner air and writing dirtier words. It’s an adjustment she’s happily getting used to.

Book Tour for Catastrophe Queen by Emma Hart (REVIEW)

Time in the office just got hotter as a sexy yet klutzy woman finds herself attracted to her new boss in a slow-burn romance that will charm readers every step of the way.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Catastrophe Queen by Emma Hart, along with my impressions of it, then add this fun and flirty romance to your bookshelf!

It’s not you. It’s me.
No, seriously. It is me. Not only does my name literally mean “unfortunate,” but that’s the story of my life.
Everything I touch turns to cr*p. An apartment fire—that I swear I was not responsible for—means I’m living back at home with my s*x-mad parents. Yay, me!
Which is why I need my new job as personal assistant to Cameron Reid to get back on my feet. Three months in this job and I can move back out and, hopefully, remember to turn off my flat iron once in a while.
Ahem.
On paper, my job is easy. Make coffee. Book appointments. Keep everything in order.
Until I walk in on my boss, half-naked, wearing nothing but the kind of tiny white towel that dreams are made of.
Now, nothing is easy—except our mutual attraction. But he’s my boss, and you know what they say about mixing work and pleasure: unless you do p*rn, it’s just not worth it.
Or is it?

EXCERPT:

I took my coffee from the counter and scanned the room for an empty table. There wasn’t one, which killed my chances of wasting more time before I went home.
With a sigh, I checked my phone for the time and headed for the door. I was going to end up at home earlier than I’d planned, and I needed to check with my mom to make sure there wasn’t anything kinky happening somewhere in the house.
I’d considered bleaching my eyes enough in the last few weeks, thank you.
I was fairly sure I was safe because my grandfather and great aunt were coming to stay to celebrate Grandpa’s eightieth birthday. It was still a miracle my exhibitionist mother shared DNA with either of them. Unlike her, they were reserved, polite, and didn’t flash their flesh in the hopes of getting out of a speeding ticket.
Really, it was no wonder I was a walking disaster.
I pulled up my messages and clicked on my mom’s name. My thumb was poised to type the burning question of whether or not it was safe to come home when I glanced up.
And saw the car screeching to a stop, mere inches from me.
I screamed and stepped back. My heel caught on the curb, sending me toppling backward, and both my coffee and phone went flying. My cup slammed against the sidewalk, splattering hot liquid everywhere right as I managed to save my phone from certain death by concrete.
My heart was beating so fast it should have exploded, and adrenaline raced through my veins. I gripped my phone against me so tightly that the edges pressed painfully into my skin.
Oh my God.
I’d just almost died.
Maybe slightly dramatic, but I probably wasn’t far wrong. I didn’t even know I’d stepped into the road. When had that happened? Had I really been in that deep into my own little world that I hadn’t even checked for traffic?
Dear God.
How was I still alive?
The back door to the sleek, black car that somehow hadn’t run me over swung open. From my vantage position on the sidewalk, the first thing I saw was a pair of shiny, black shoes attached to legs wearing perfectly-pressed, light gray dress pants.
I dragged my gaze up from the feet, over the door of the perfectly clean car, and stared at the most beautiful man known to humankind.
Thick, dark, wavy hair covered his head, curling over his ears. Lashes the same dark shade of brown framed impossibly bright-blue eyes that regarded me with a mixture of shock and concern, and my ovaries about exploded when he rubbed a large hand over full pink lips and a stubbled, strong jaw.
“Miss—I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”
Scrambling to my feet as he approached me, I tugged down the leg of my pants and grabbed my pursed. “Yes. I mean—it was my fault. I wasn’t paying attention. I’m sorry.”
He let go of the car door, showing broad shoulders and just how well that gray suit was tailored to him, and picked up my coffee cup. “All the same, I think we can share blame. Are you sure you’re not hurt?”
Just my dignity, and by this point, I was running low on it anyway.
I shifted, taking a step back. “I’m fine, really. Thank you.”
“Can I replace your coffee? Give you a ride anyway to apologize?” His expression was so earnest, his concern so genuine that I almost gave in.
Almost.
I had almost walked into the front of his car, then proceeded to embarrass myself in front of everyone on the street.
“No, no, it’s fine. I’m not far from home.” I clutched my phone and purse straps a little harder. “Again, thank you, but I should be going.”
He nodded as if he understood. “Uh, miss? Did you drop something there?”
My eyes followed the direction Mr. Dreamboat was pointing. On the side of the road, tucked against the curb, was a pair of white, cotton panties with flamingos on them.
My white, cotton panties with flamingos on them.
Swallowing, I met his bright eyes and shook my head. Dear God, please don’t let me blush. “No. I’ve never seen them before.” I backed up a little more. “Thank you for not running me over.”
Mr. Dreamboat grinned, his eyes brightening with his smile. “I’d never be able to forgive myself if I’d been responsible for running over someone as beautiful as you.” He glanced toward my panties, then winked at me.
There was no doubting that I was blushing this time around.
You could fry eggs on my cheeks.
So I did the only thing any self-respecting, twenty-five-year-old woman who’d just almost been run over, tripped, and dropped her dirty panties could do.
I ran.
But only like two blocks, because I was in heels, and I had the fitness levels of a hippo.
Then I grabbed a cab.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Readers will find themselves charmed by this romance the moment they start reading it as it weaves a sweet and sensual web around you through its likable characters and witty banter.  After a week of reading emotionally intense reads I appreciate this carefree romance, its lack of angst, and its Calgon promise to take me away from it all.

Mallory Harper is a walking disaster, known by all as an accident waiting to happen, and it’s just one part of her charm.  She’s also immensely likable, self-deprecating in her klutziness, and can get along with everyone.  Her personality is larger-than-life and it lights up every scene she’s in which makes her a perfect balance to the calm and collected Cameron.  The start of the story has Mallory down on her luck, homeless because of a fire and jobless because of being fired, living back home with her over-sexed parents and annoying relatives.  Things take a turn for the better though after she starts working for a premier real estate agent as she proves her worth in the office while forming a surprising friendship with the boss.  The more time they spend together the more they learn about each other in a slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance. Mallory may seem a bit flighty but she’s extremely talented when it comes to people as she easily handles the most demanding of clients.  She and Cameron may seem like opposites, especially when it comes to socioeconomic status, but they just click through fun and flirty banter and through their increasing sexual tension.  On a whole though theirs is a carefree romance that made for an enjoyable journey to HFN.

Cameron Reid’s the quintessential boss as he’s kind and courteous, especially around Mallory, and it’s clear there’s a connection between them.  From the moment his car almost hit her he’s been drawn to her.  While others laugh at her klutziness, he finds it endearing and goes out of his way to comfort her when moments of klutziness arise.  Though he knows he should keep his hands off her he can’t keep fighting the daily temptation she presents as they evolve from friends to something more in a sweet and sensual angst-free romance full of smiles.  Cameron’s a drool-worthy hero, handsome and truly nice, someone unimpressed by his own wealth.  His scenes with Mallory were full of heartwarming words that utterly charmed me and had me rooting for them to finally get together after an endless build-up.  Readers accustomed to alpha heroes will enjoy the more down-to-earth Cameron and the subtle heroic deeds he did on a daily basis to put Mallory at ease.

The romance between Mallory and Cameron is simply sweet, a slow-burn that frustrated me the closer I got to the end though as I was clamoring for a bit of steam. While their interactions were fun and flirty and entertaining to watch, I still would’ve liked a moment or two of scorch as their connection always felt like it was ready to erupt.  Not only are the interactions between the two of them entertaining, but so too are their scenes with the secondary characters. Mallory’s scenes with her family, and her friend Jade, were realistic and full of snark which made for many chuckle-worthy scenes.  Her family were brash and they jumped off the page with their tell-it-like-it-is nature.  Cameron’s interactions with his family were similar, though his family weren’t near as boisterous, and it was further proof of how perfect they are for each other. From start to finish this was a breezy read that offered a nice cleansing of the palate from all the heavy reads out there and I definitely recommend it to all those looking for a charming romance with likable characters.

My rating for this is a B.

I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”
Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.
The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.
He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.
But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.
Something new.
But I have no idea how this one is going to end...

EXCERPT:

Grabbing my laptop, I searched my history and called up the last website I’d visited.
Eastwood Properties is one of the largest independent brokerage firms in the world. We connect the most prestigious and exclusive properties with qualified buyers, assuring the utmost privacy for both parties. Whether you’re in the market for a luxury New York City penthouse with a view of the park, a waterfront Hampton estate, or an enchanting chateau escape in the mountains, or you’re ready for your own private island, Eastwood is where your dreams begin.
There was a link to search properties, so I typed in the name of the place the woman had mentioned in the voice mail: Millennium Tower. Sure enough, the penthouse popped up for sale. For only twelve million dollars, I could own an apartment on Columbus Avenue with sweeping views of Central Park. Let me write you a check.
After drooling through a video and two dozen photos, I clicked on the button to make an appointment to view the property. An application popped up, the top of which read: For the privacy and safety of our sellers, all prospective buyers are required to complete an application to view properties. Only buyers that meet our stringent prequalification criteria will be contacted.
I snorted. Great prequalification criteria you have there, Eastwood. I wasn’t sure I had enough money to take the train uptown to get to that swanky place, much less buy it. God knows what I’d written that had qualified me.
I closed the website and was just about to shut my laptop and go back to bed again when I decided to take one more peek at Mr. Romantic on Facebook.
God, he was gorgeous.
What if...
I shouldn’t...
No good ever came out of ideas formulated while drunk.
I couldn’t.
But...
That face...
And that note.
So romantic. So beautiful.
Plus . . . I’d never seen the inside of a twelve-million-dollar penthouse.
I really shouldn’t.
Then again . . . I’d spent the last two years doing everything I should do. And where had that gotten me?
Right here. It’d gotten me right damn here—hungover and unemployed, sitting in this crappy apartment. Maybe it was time I did the things I shouldn’t be doing for a change. I picked up my phone and let my finger hover over the “Call Back” button for a while.
Screw it.
No one would ever know. It could be fun—getting all dressed up and playing the part of a rich Upper West Sider while satisfying my curiosity about the man. What harm was there?
None that I could think of. Still, you know what they say about curiosity...
I pressed “Call Back.”
“Hi. This is Charlotte Darling calling to confirm an appointment with Reed Eastwood . . .”
