Book Tour for When I Look In the Mirror by Tanith Davenport (GIVEAWAY)…….

A young woman discovers more about herself than she thought possible after taking part in a seance and meeting a mysterious man with secrets of his own in this quick yet satisfying paranormal romance.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of When I Look In the Mirror by Tanith Davenport, along with hearing from the author about what sets her books apart from others in the genre, then learn even more about this book by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this sexy stand-alone story make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $10 Amazon/BN GC too!

Giving a big welcome to Ms. Davenport with the question…..What sets the paranormal romances that I write apart from the rest of the genre?
I love paranormal romance and always have. In a world where evidence of the paranormal is nebulous at best, I love to create a world where we have ghosts, werewolves, vampires and all other possible beings – including angels and demons. You can have almost anything happen in a paranormal romance, which means I can let my imagination run riot, and I love that.
I’ve dealt with ghosts, trolls and vardogers in the past, but I was new to the angel genre, although I had read a few in the past. When I write paranormal romance I always try to put a new spin on it, so I avoided reading any new angel/demon romance so that I wouldn’t be influenced by other writers. I do my best to come up with a unique storyline before I start writing so that it will stand out amidst the other books, since this is a crowded genre and it’s not easy to do.
Also, while in erotic romance the sex is an intrinsic part of the plot, I try to make sure there are plot elements that don’t rest entirely on the sex. I’ve seen reviewers in the past complain that there’s too much sex and not enough story in some books, and while I’m not convinced I agree with that complaint (I’ve never had a problem with a lot of sex in a book) I do my best to have enough plot that can keep people with those preferences happy. I like to have a healthy balance of the paranormal and hot sex, and hopefully that will suit everyone.
I had great fun writing “When I Look In The Mirror” – Tatum and Zack were amazing characters to write and I loved Dante as an antagonist. I hope everyone else enjoys it too!

When hairdresser Tatum Fox takes part in a séance at a party, her only thought is of the attractive man sitting beside her, the mysterious Zack, who appears in her dreams that night and who she hopes to see again. However, when she begins to experience paranormal activity and finds herself confronted by an unnerving client at work, she discovers that the séance summoned a demon – and Zack may be the only person who can free her of him.
Zack reveals himself to be an angel, and shows Tatum that she also has the power to battle supernatural creatures – a power that is increased through sex with him. Their connection soon strengthens, but is Tatum strong enough to defeat the demon with Zack by her side – and can there be a future with an angel, or is their passion doomed to end?

EXCERPT:

“What you saw wasn’t in your head. It was real.”
“What are you talking about? I saw Dante turning into a—into I don’t know what. How could that be real?”
Zack sighed, taking her hand. “Listen. There are things in this world you don’t understand. And Dante is one of them.”
Tatum gave him a look. Seriously?
“This stays between us.” Zack gently took her chin in his hand, tilting her head up to look at her directly, and then...
A sudden glittering haze seemed to surround them, and Zack’s eyes glowed white. “What the—”
“Shh.” Zack held her still as the glitter dissipated, his eyes returning to normal. “Like I said, there are things you don’t understand. Not yet.”
“And you’re one of them? What are you?”
“You don’t need to worry about me. Worry about Dante.”
“And what’s Dante?”
Zack’s thumb caressed her cheek. “Dante is a demon.”
A demon. The idea would have seemed impossible that morning, and yet now it was somehow believable. Dante, who had given her the creeps since she first met him, who she had seen turning into a hideous creature in the mirror, was a demon.
“How do you know? Ezer has known him ages and never picked up—this.”
Zack rolled his eyes. “Ezer is great, but he’s not the kind of person to pick this up. I only invited him to see if he might have that power—he doesn’t. His senses are dead in the water.”
“And mine?”
“Besides...” Zack continued as though she hadn’t spoken. “Dante wasn’t always a demon. Remember Nicole’s party? That was when it happened. He’s been taken over.”

Book Tour for Hard Lust by Tina Donahue (GIVEAWAY)

Readers looking to make this summer even hotter will find plenty of scorching encounters between the pages as a woman finds herself bargaining with a trio of demons for her sister's life...and finding herself the center of their erotic attention.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Hard Lust by Tina Donahue, along with hearing from the author about this release, then discover even more about this book by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this sexy standalone make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $10 bookstore GC too!

QUESTION OF THE DAY:  When writing a reverse harem how do you balance all the sexy options available to the lead character in a way that satisfies every reader?
TD:  Great question. First, it’s not easy. There are really only so many way to portray sex in a book. Once you’ve zipped through them, things can get dicey. That’s why it’s best – even in an erotic romance – to also focus on emotions, not just the physical aspects of the act.
For example: in Hard Lust, Andros and Megan get it on when she least expects it but totally enjoys it. She thought he was angry about her giving him lip. He is, but he’s also turned on by how feisty she is. During the act, their bond builds, bringing them closer together.
For Vespar, he’s feeling left out because she made love with Andros first. Not one to be denied or dismissed, he creates a scene for their lovemaking she’ll never forget. Again, I focused on their emotions and how they felt about each other more so than ‘he did this to her and then she did that to him and then they did that together’. Granted, physical descriptions are important, which are there, but they’re not the be all or end all in an erotic romance.
By the time she and Racan have their fun, his personality comes into play. He wants to be important to her, not simply the next notch on her bedpost. Showing their affection for each other even during a hot sex scene increased the heat.
As to the many ways to portray sex, I included some BDSM (mild and fun not brutal), voyeurism, exhibitionism, discipline, bondage, oral (for both her and them), anal, 69, a four-way, missionary style, and back door. To keep the sex scenes fresh, I made certain to mix things up so their carnal play wasn’t even remotely the same each time she was with a different hero.

Don't ever trust a demon. Unfortunately, Megan has learned that lesson too late. The deal she made to save her sister's life has landed her in hell about seventy years early. And now she has three sexy demons trying to tell her what to do. Nope. Not going to happen.
These guys have never had to deal with such defiance. Andros figures she's due for some erotic discipline, which he'll happily provide. Racan's pure alpha, his hardcore plans include bondage and submission. Quiet yet intense, Vespar expects endless kink to spice up their carnal play.
Who would have ever expected she'd end up falling for them? Too bad demons can't be trusted...because someone is trying to kill the magic and threatening her stay in this lusty world.

EXCERPT:

Megan looked at him. “Do you guys ever get men down here?"
He shook his head. Having nothing except female condemned was a feature, not a bug, and a perk he wouldn’t give up without a fight. “Let’s go. Your time’s running out."
She trotted to keep up with him. “My half hour started already?”"
He stopped. “Twenty minutes.” He jabbed his finger at her. “You heard what Racan said. Don’t try to put anything over on us, because you can’t. Got it? Or would you care to try for fifteen minutes? Possibly less?"
Her lower lip trembled. “Why are you being so mean? You’re not that way really. You seem like a nice guy."
He stepped back and bumped into the wall. “Guy?"
She flicked her wrist. “Demon. Devil. Entity. Whatever."
“Try fallen angel."
Her mouth rounded. “Get out. You started up there?” She pointed toward Heaven. “I knew it. You are a good man."
He wasn’t Attila the Hun or Vlad the Impaler, but he wasn’t as great as she’d said. “You’ve forgotten how I spanked you?"
Her cheeks got rosy, her face dreamy. “Uh-uh."
He leaned in. “Are you turned on?"
“What?” She blinked and frowned. “No way."
Her taut nipples told another tale. “There’s something you should know.” He tapped her chin. “I am not a good man."
“Demon then. And yeah, you are. Andros told you to discipline me. You didn’t do it on your own.” He’d been itching for the chance when Andros presented the opportunity. “Don’t be so certain.” “I am.” She stroked his tat.
His gums tingled.
“What happened in Heaven? How’d you get down here?"
Bethshiba. His, Andros, and Racan’s crime hadn’t been that bad. They’d simply wanted to be heard and considered. Instead, they received the ultimate sentence—banishment.
“The reason isn’t important. This is.” He touched the handbook. “You need to learn everything you can. There isn’t much time."
She screwed up her mouth. “I thought I was here for eternity.” “Do you ever stop arguing?"
“I will, I swear. On one condition."
He held back laughter at her gall. “On one what?"
“Help me, please. Show me the way out of here. At the least, get me an audience with Satan so I can plead my case."
Poor girl was losing it. “Begging doesn’t work down here. With him or me. We need to go."
“Not yet.” She pressed closer to stop him from leaving, her nipples poking his pecs, her cunt smack against his groin.
Heat rose between them, unmasked desire sparking in her eyes. His hair stood on end. Her musk and the scent from his leather pants mingled to create one fucking great fragrance. She rocked her hips slowly, sensuously, arousal parting her lips. “I was... Uh, I was... That is, I was..."
He pumped against her, his already massive erection increasing by the second.
She met him thrust for thrust, their gyrations lewd. “Wait.” She kept grinding into him. “I need to say this."
“Sure."
They maintained their carnal dance.
“Go on.” He wanted to hear this.
She pulled in a huge breath. “I was taking law classes at night before I got here. I know how to present a case. I’m a great litigator. It’s in my blood. I’ll make Satan see reason. I won’t lose."
She couldn’t have killed the magic between them faster if she’d tried. He stopped pretend fucking and stepped away. “There’s no winning down here for the condemned.” The moment she opened her plush lips, Satan would vaporize her then bring her back and get his rocks off on torture...the kind she wouldn’t like. “It’s not possible.” He grasped her biceps. “You need to get a grip and accept your fate."
“Screw that.” She stroked his fingers.
Remarkable heat and delight shot up his arm and landed in his balls and cock, both still ready to boogie, her effect on him more than it should be or what he seemed able to stop.

Book Release Blitz for Earthbound by Melora Johnson

Readers looking for an exhilarating blend of paranormal and fantasy will be drawn to this tale of demons and angels trying to exist together here on Earth.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Earthbound by Melora Johnson, then add this romance (that I hope will be the first in a series of books) to your bookshelf!

Her healing touch could start a fire.
Ally Reynolds is a veterinarian specializing in raptor rehabilitation in New Hampshire.
Other than one horrific incident in her childhood and a little extra “spark” for healing in her hands, both of which she has kept secret from even her best friend, her life has been singularly boring. It has also been extremely lonely. Ally longs for someone to share her life with, but how can she trust anyone with her secret?
Matthew Blake, an ornithologist at Cornell University, calls Ally, asking for her help with an injured raptor. Matthew grew up in New Zealand and has lived around the world. He has read about Ally’s high success rates in raptor rehabilitation and suspects there is more to it than is generally known.
Matthew has some secrets of his own; he is a demon hunter. He suspects Ally’s healing powers could benefit him. He wants her to join him and thinks they’d make a great team.
Can Ally trust him or is he just using her? Matthew definitely has more secrets, and some of them are about Ally.

EXCERPT:

“Doctor Reynolds,” a male voice called out from across the room, pulling me back to the present. It sounded somewhat familiar.
I looked up, shielding my eyes from the afternoon sun shining in the front window as a male figure strode toward me, blond hair haloed by the light. He stopped in front of me.
Startled, I rose to my feet and looked into a chiseled face, his eyes the indeterminate blue green of sea glass like I’d collected along the shoreline once as a teenager. His dark golden blond hair was short and spiky, his lopsided grin pure perfection. He was gorgeous.
In my experience, gorgeous men were not to be trusted. Well, no men really were. Oh, all right, no one was, period.
“Doctor Allyson Reynolds? I’m Doctor Matthew Scott Blake. I’m honored to have you join us. I’ve read your articles in the Raptor Rehab Newsletter.”
He held out a hand, but when I put out mine to shake it, he simply captured mine in his and placed his other hand over it. His eyes flashed green with golden flecks in the sunlight.
“I’m glad to be here,” I said, not at all sure I was anymore, as my pulse sped up. “Please, call me Ally.”
“All right, Ally it is.”
I want to climb him like a tree. I swallowed, aghast at my own thoughts. I’d only known him a few minutes.
His hands were so warm. My mother’s voice played in my head, Gorgeous men are dangerous, arrogant, and being involved with them will lead to no good. I frowned.
“It’s so good to see you...” he said. At my expression, he faltered and cleared his throat. The wattage of his smile dimmed significantly. “I mean, to meet you. I’ve been following your work since I arrived in the States, in the newsletter.”
He turned, drawing my hand through his arm. “Please, let me show you around the facilities here.”
“Uh, thank you,” I murmured, wondering how to tactfully withdraw my arm. My attraction to him was overwhelming. At the same time, his overly familiar attitude seemed a little odd.
A tall woman, her long, brown hair in a ponytail, appeared at the doorway through which Matt had arrived. She positively glowered at my arm through Matthew’s. She wore work boots, khaki shorts, and a sand colored polo shirt with the university logo, so I assumed she worked there as well. She approached us and stopped several feet away, then turned a bright smile on Matthew. “Hi, Matt. What brings you down from the Ornithology Lab?”
“This is Doctor Allyson Reynolds, the veterinarian and raptor rehabilitation specialist I suggested to Rick we bring in to help with the injured eagle from Sapsucker Woods.”
Shelly took one more look at my arm entwined with Matthew’s then smiled again at him. “Would you like me to show her around?”
He paused a moment before replying. “That’s okay, Shelly. I can handle it, I know my way. No need to take time out of your busy schedule. I’ll just show Doctor Reynolds around, then bring her to meet Rick. He’s the one overseeing the care of the eagle. Oh...” He turned to me. “This is Doctor Shelly Madison, she’s a clinical associate professor in zoo medicine.”
I saw my chance and pulled my arm out of his, ostensibly to shake Shelly’s hand. I murmured hello. She responded stiffly. Her behavior made more sense to me than his. Why treat me like an honored guest? I was just a vet who specialized in raptor rehab. I had been so anxious to get out of town I’d jumped at the chance, but now there was one question paramount in my mind—why had he called me? They were the experts here.
“Now, let’s show you around the animal hospital here.” His hands clenched, his bicep bulging under his short sleeve as he tugged the inner door to the offices open for me.
I fought the urge to retreat a step. Here stood a warrior from medieval legend. It would have been more appropriate for him to be dressed in leather armor than a button-down, short- sleeved khaki shirt, but he grabbed my hand and drew me around Shelly. “We’ll start in the library.”
As we walked, I had a stern conversation with my subconscious. Go to Ithaca, you said. You’ll get away from anyone Jen wants to set you up with, you said.
Matthew squeezed my hand. I looked up to see him beaming at me. My stomach lurched. I was out of the nest and free falling.

Karina didn’t set out to free the Seelie Queen’s gallowglass. Now she’ll do anything to keep him.
After Karina and her brother, Chris’s, lives fall apart in separate yet equally spectacular ways, they leave New York behind and head to the UK. Karina buries herself in research for her doctoral thesis, all the while studiously not thinking about the man who broke her heart, while Chris—who’d been a best-selling author before his ex-fiancée sued him for plagiarism—drinks his way across the British Isles.
In Scotland, they visit the grave of Robert Kirk, a seventeenth- century minister who was kidnapped by fairies. No one is more shocked than Karina when a handsome man with a Scottish brogue appears, claiming to be the Robert Kirk of legend. What’s more, he says he spent the last few hundred years as the Gallowglass, the Seelie Queen’s personal assassin. When they’re attacked by demons, Karina understands how dearly the queen wants him back.
As Karina and Robert grow closer, Chris’s attempts to drown his sorrows lead him to a pub, and a woman called Sorcha. Chris is instantly smitten with her, so much so he spends days with Sorcha and lies to his sister about his whereabouts. When Chris comes home covered in fey kisses, Karina realizes that the Seelie Queen isn’t just after Robert.
Can Karina outsmart the Seelie Queen, or is Robert doomed to forever be the Gallowglass?
EXCERPT:

Robert grabbed my arm. “’Tis one o’ the fuath,” he growled.
“The who-ah?” I asked.
“Foo ah,” Robert repeated, stretching out the syllables. “They are water demons that act as Nicnevin’s assassins. Like as no’, she has sent this one to collect me.”
“I thought you were her assassin.”
He ignored my comment, and said, “We must leave, lass. Fetch your brother.”
“Leave the tour?” I asked. “Can’t we just walk around to the other side of the ruin?”
“No. We must leave this place altogether.”
“We’re on an island,” I reminded him. “We have to wait for the ferry.”
“We canna,” he hissed. “’Tis no safe.”
“Um, okay.” I scanned the tour group; it was comprised of a rather harried looking guide, a gaggle of senior citizens armed with cameras and fanny packs, and my brother, the only individual under sixty. None of them looked to be likely candidates for a fairy assassin. “Where exactly is this fuath?”
“At the rear o’ that gathering.” Robert jerked his chin toward a white haired woman leaning on a cane who looked so frail, I worried the breeze would topple her.
“Are you sure?” I pressed.
“’Tis one o’ them, o’ that ye can be certain,” he insisted, his grip on my arm tightening. “The beast is wearing a glamour.”
I stared at Robert, the man I’d known for less than twenty four hours, who had claimed that I’d liberated him from centuries imprisoned within the Seelie Court. The man I had believed, until he started avoiding my questions. “You haven’t answered me. I thought you were her assassin?”
“I was but the deadliest of many,” he replied, then he spied Chris. “Come, we’ll collect Christopher and commandeer a vessel.”
“What? No!” I shook my arm free, and glared at him. “That little old lady can’t hurt anyone, and we are not stealing a boat!”
“The boat? Ye are concerned about a wee boat when a killer’s naught but twenty paces from ye?”
“This is insane,” I muttered. “Just insane.” I turned my back to him, rubbing my temples. Chris had been right; Robert was nothing but a gigolo, one who was now playing his part a bit too intensely, and I was his willing mark. I’d crossed half the world to get away from one man that had used me, only to run smack into another.
The tour group had noticed Robert’s and my argument, and a few of the old ladies were whispering about us. I smiled and waved, trying to impress upon them that everything was fine. The ladies lost interest in us, except the one Robert had labeled as an assassin. She was standing stock still, leaning on her cane and peering at me.
“Why isn’t she moving on?” I wondered. I glanced over my shoulder; Robert had stalked off toward the trees again, muttering to himself. “Robert, could you come here, please?” I called. “I think someone needs help.” All I could think of was that something of a medical nature was happening with the woman, maybe a stroke or a heart attack, and Robert—or whatever his name was—was a big guy, and could carry her if necessary. As soon as I called his name he returned to my side.
“Who is needin’ help, then?” Robert demanded. He looked past me, the blood draining from his face.
“Gallowglass,” a voice hissed. I tore my gaze from Robert and back to the old woman, who wasn’t looking so feeble any longer. Her eyes glowed red, and her mouth was packed with long, needlelike teeth, way too many teeth to be in such a small opening. I stood, mesmerized, as she kept opening her mouth, wider and wider until her jaw unhinged, her teeth growing longer and sharper with each passing second.
“Behind me,” Robert shouted as the woman sprang at us. She crossed the twenty or more paces in a single leap, landing like a cat on Robert’s chest. Then she screamed, a horrible, shrill noise that physically hurt my ears, and reared back to bite Robert’s neck.
I shrieked, certain this monster was about to take Robert’s head off, when he pitched himself forward, throwing his full weight on top of the much smaller creature and knocking them both to the ground. While the monster was still dazed, Robert leapt to his feet. He extended his arm to the side, and the claymore he’d carried the day before materialized out of thin air. Robert grasped the sword with both hands, and with a single swing he decapitated the creature.
I was shaking like a leaf, staring from the body to Robert. There was blood everywhere, black stinking blood marring the lush grass, some of the foul liquid having sprayed onto Robert’s chest. I hated gore, even the fake gore in horror movies and in cheesy Halloween displays. I swayed, certain that I was going to faint, when Robert caught me.
“’Tis all right,” he murmured, his arm about my waist. “It canna hurt ye now.” I pressed myself against Robert’s side, hiding under his arm and trying not to touch the bloody parts of his shirt. All of my doubts about Robert had ceased just as surely as that creature’s life had ceased. I would never doubt him again.
“What the holy hell was that?” Chris demanded.
I looked up and saw my brother jogging towards us. Behind him, the tour group was screaming and pointing at the man with the gigantic, bloody sword, and at the body at his feet. “Robert had to,” I whispered.
“Had to?” Chris repeated. “He had to kill a little old lady?
“Not a lady,” I said, shaking my head.
“Old man, whatever—“
“Chris!” I pointed at the creature’s head. “Look at the mouth.” He did, squatting down to get a better view. I stayed where I was; I already knew more than I wanted to know about that thing.
“Crap,” Chris murmured. Being that Chris considered such language beneath a man of his stature, I inferred that he understood the gravity of our situation. He reached toward its teeth, and I looked away. Did he have to touch it? He couldn’t tell just by looking at it that it was wrong? As I tried not to lose my breakfast I noticed an official-looking man striding toward us.
“About stealing that boat,” I began, then I turned to my brother. “Chris, we are going to steal a boat.”
Chris nodded. “Good plan.”
Robert grabbed my elbow, and we raced toward the dock.

Gemma’s life was nearly perfect. She’s just graduated from college and is heading off to graduate school in the fall. She and her best friends are taking a trip she’s always dreamed about. Only, nothing goes as planned. After being chased on the streets of Dublin by a freaking monster, they get sucked into a portal and wind up on another world. As in, not Earth. Now she can’t find her friends, but there is this really hot, naked guy who calls himself a king and is offering her aid.
There’s only one teensy little problem: He says she’s his mate and is planning on keeping her—forever. Oh, and there’s one more thing: He’s a beast most of the time. And Gemma has to decide if she’s willing to give up everything for the one man she’s meant to be with in the universe.

EXCERPT:

The big beast followed them from above. Its great wings stirred air currents and created a wind tunnel in the alley. Dust and rocks pelted them. She searched for an escape, a doorway or a window they could climb through to safety. But the windows were too high up for them to reach. Their footsteps slowed as they reached the gray brick wall. A dead end. Their dead end.
“What are we going to do?” Moira gasped, frantically searching for a way out of their situation.
Anna whimpered. “I’m not seeing this. We’re not here. We just had something put in our drinks, and we’re back at the hotel. This is just a nightmare.”
Gemma glanced down the alley, attempting to divine their odds of making it back out the way they’d run. And then the thing, for she couldn’t call it anything else, landed in the alley and blocked off their escape route. They were fucked.
They flattened themselves against the brick wall. Gemma searched for a way out, a way to survive.
Moira and Anna flanked her. She wished she could cry like they were doing. Anna was hysterical, telling herself to wake up. Moira was whimpering, her fearful moans guttural, sounding more like they were coming from a wounded animal than a human. But for Gemma, the night had taken on a surreal bent.
The creature approached. Its booted feet crunched over the pavement. What kind of monster wore leather boots? Her scientific brain tried to make sense of the tableau. The thing appeared to be male, judging by the lines of its chest on down to its groin. His large wings, even at rest behind him as he crept toward them, spanned the width of the alley and cut off any chance of escape. The pointed tips of his wings dragged along the brick, scraping the stone. The sound was like nails down a chalkboard.
That’s when things got really weird.
As if their entire night hadn’t become completely FUBAR. They awaited their fate. Pressed against brick. Gemma had always wondered how she would feel at the end of her days, and now she knew. Thoroughly livid. She was incensed that this thing thought to screw up her well-laid plans.
His glowing silver, otherworldly gaze stoked her fury. Anna and Moira were devolving into fear. Their choked sobs filled her with dread. She was the one who had suggested this trip to celebrate their graduation. Her best friends, her sisters of the heart—their deaths would be on her. Anna had wanted to go to the Bahamas. But Gemma had swayed them, persuaded them to go to Ireland instead.
Before she could apologize and tell them she loved them, the wall they were backed up against, awaiting their fates and most likely their final moments, dissolved. Although, maybe that was too simple a term. It melted. The bricks liquefied into nothingness. Instead of stone at their backs, a swirling black mass that reminded Gemma of clouds spiraling inside a tornado, took the brick wall’s place.
The monster was close. Too close now. And he—it—picked up its pace to capture them. She didn’t want to know what the creature had in store for them.
“Go,” Gemma cried, urging her friends to step into the swirling black mist.

Misha Sokolov is one frustrated demon. While his professional life with the Bureau of Supernatural Relations is rewarding, his romantic prospects are the pits. His teammates Kyle and Jean Luc have found their mates (with his help, he might add). Is it too much to ask for his own happily-ever-after?
When Misha finally meets an amazing demon female who could be THE ONE, Fate conspires against him. With the escalating tensions between the earth and realm demons, and his newest case involving supernatural seven-year-old twin boys, he’s too busy for romance.
Callie, a human female, can’t seem to convince her half-demon sons that using their powers in front of humans is a bad thing. And the more time Misha spends with her, the more he realizes she’s keeping secrets. When those secrets jeopardize both her and her sons, Misha will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Because instead of conspiring against him, Fate may have put a spunky, green-eyed woman and her incorrigible sons in his path for a reason.

Book Tour for Dark Pleasures by Aja James (Review & GIVEAWAY)

A relationship started on a lie soon takes a more emotional turn as a battle is waging that leaves lives hanging in the balance while opposites attract.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Dark Pleasures by Aja James, along with my impressions of this book, then discover even more about it by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this fourth installment in the Pure/Dark Ones series make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $10 bookstore GC too!

Devlin Sinclair, the New England Dark Ones’ Hunter, is on a mission to track down the elusive and mysterious Medusa, perhaps the ultimate nemesis the Pure and Dark Ones have been battling in recent years.
But he can’t do it alone.
Grace Darling has isolated herself from the world since a very young age, after her parents’ death and because of her own social disability. Awkward and brilliant, a born sensualist, Grace agrees to a blind date that changes the course of Destiny.
She has the skills he needs. Their chemistry is off the charts, but will she, can she give him the love he craves?

EXCERPT:

It was the barely-there touch on her shoulder that decided Grace.
She would stay for a meal with the impostor Azor Ahai and take him home with her afterwards.
If the rash of sparks that his glancing touch generated was any indication, sex with him would be nigh incinerating, and she was in a state of utmost arousal this night.
Grace sat down and waited for the stranger to likewise settle in the seat across from her.
Her arousal wasn’t due to him, though aesthetically speaking, he was a priceless work of art:
Golden-honey waves of hair streaked with sunlight, perfectly symmetrical and evenly spaced features, dark blonde brows arching elegantly over heavily lashed bright blue eyes, the type of blue that sapphires envied.
A blade of a nose that drew attention to sculpted cheek bones and the fundamentally masculine hollows beneath, a wide, full mouth that looked like it smiled a lot, bracketed by faint grooves that hinted at dimples.
There were adjectives that most people might use to describe such a face. Handsome was too bland. Beautiful did not do justice to his overwhelming maleness. Gorgeous suggested something showy, not quite authentic.
This man knew full well the impact his looks had on others, and used it to further his own goals—like finagling a dinner with Grace even though he must know that she didn’t buy his impersonation.  But he didn’t dwell on his magnificence (was that the right adjective?); he didn’t invite attention.
He used it like a shield. A mirror to deflect attempts to see beyond the exterior. A mask that hid the man inside.
Grace’s adjective for him was: intriguing.
And as she was hardly ever intrigued by anything, she decided to see how this would play out.
But equally, she simply wanted to jump his bones. Because his touch set her afire.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

After a clever recap of the series storyline thus far from a beloved character, readers will become quickly captivated by this paranormal romance of opposites attracting.  With its near-perfect blend of sensuality, suspense, and the paranormal, readers will be on the edge of their seats as they frantically turn the pages to see what happens next.  By the turn of the final page readers will be left with one heckuva cliffhanger that will have them waiting in breathless anticipation for the next installment.

Devlin Sinclair comes from a time of gentlemanly manners, orchestrated flirtations, and distinct roles for men and women.  As a vampire he’s evolved since then but still calls on his well-known charm when he needs to get information from a tech genius who’s the only one who can help them find his people’s enemy.  All his usual charms, everything he’s learned about women in the past, doesn’t help him one bit once he meets Grace.  Theirs is an extraordinary romance, full of unexpected delights, and it made for an entertaining journey to a hard-fought HEA.  Through it all Devlin balances his romantic side with his need to get information in his role as a hunter.  He’s caught off guard by Grace but is drawn to her and does everything he can to make a place in her life for himself and a place for her in his despite the emotional baggage from his past.  It’s a dangerous journey too, one that kept their HEA in jeopardy, but it had me rooting for them every step of the way. Devlin’s an immensely appealing hero, sexy and supportive, who’s known for his ways with women.  His confusion over Grace’s unfiltered reactions to being romanced made this story even more enjoyable and had me falling for him even more.

Grace Darling’s a very unique heroine and I applaud Ms. James for crafting yet another unforgettable character in a series of delightful characters.  Grace is a tech genius, happy in her own little world after the death of her parents.  She has few connections, except for an aunt, and likes it that way as she never again wants to put her heart on the line.  The moment she meets Devlin she knows what he wants, she’s far too smart to be fooled.  He, however, has no idea what to expect from her and it was an entertaining and hilarious journey of discovery for both of them.  Grace is a high functioning autistic and has difficulty understanding and expressing emotions, but with a computer there’s nothing she can’t do.  She’s a very straight-forward person and I enjoyed her bluntness and easy acceptance of the strange new world Devlin introduces her to.  As a disabled person myself I appreciate Ms. James’s positive interpretation of disability and sexuality in scenes that were scorching yet full of heart and soul. Grace might have problems expressing herself emotionally but when it came to her feelings for Devlin, things couldn’t have been clearer in an ending that pulled at my heartstrings before pulling the rug out from underneath me in an exhilarating cliffhanger.

This is a series that just keeps getting better and better!  The storyline is becoming more layered with world-building that‘s vividly depicted that sets it apart from other paranormal series.  The characters are all likable and distinct with good and evil not always clear cut.  The romance is strong with moments of playfulness and eroticism beautifully balanced with action and suspense. Glimpses of past characters are plentiful with some story threads tied up while others start to unravel in a tale that kept me on edge from the first page to the cliffhanger ending.  Though this book can be read on its own, readers will find it a much richer experience to have read the previous books first.  These characters, this world, have quickly become an addiction and I can’t recommend this series enough as it’s the very best representation of paranormal romance out there!

My rating for this is an A+

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

AUTHOR INFO:

Aja has been writing stories since the age of six, and novels since the age of thirteen. While she'd be the first to admit that those early efforts weren't particularly good, she sure loved putting them down on paper!
The best part of writing, according to Aja, is that it’s completely organic, the way the stories develop. When the inspiration hits, she writes just so she herself can learn where the characters are headed because oftentimes, they take her by surprise! It is her ultimate dream to share her stories with as many readers as she possibly can.
Her other loves include art, cooking, and old movies (anything with Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Clark Gable, and all the song and dance numbers because she can’t watch them and not be happy!).
She adores taking long walks with her husband and running after her two rambunctious kids. She has traveled extensively (all seven continents except Antarctica) and has a multi-cultural upbringing. She speaks two and a half languages and binge watch TV shows when the mood strikes.
Aja has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Comparative Literature and Economics and two Master’s degrees, one of which is in East Asian Studies.
