Book Tour for Something New Under the Sun by L.A. Witt (Interview & GIVEAWAY)

What a great way to end the week!  One of my favorite publishers brings the amazing L.A. Witt who just happens to be a fellow Nebraskan.  So keep reading to get to know more about L.A. and her exciting new action-packed sequel, Something New Under The Sun.....

Welcome to the Riptide Publishing/L. A. Witt blog tour for Something New Under the Sun, the sequel to my vampire/cyberpunk novella, A Chip In His Shoulder!
Here’s another great set of interview questions to help you get to know me better! (If you dare, muahaha!)
What’s one time and/or place (past, present, or future) that you’re dying to write about? Why?  Well, now that I’ve written Ancient Rome and World War II, which were the two I was really itching to write, I’d say the American Civil War or Ancient Egypt. What can I say? They’re fascinating periods. One of my friends, Lavender Ironside, writes some beautiful Ancient Egyptian fiction, and the more I read her work, the more I want to try writing that era myself. And I’ll definitely be writing more World War II. I could write WWII with Aleksandr Voinov all day long.
What’s the best advice about your writing you’ve ever received? Just finish it. Worry about fixing it later. Just finish it.   The other was: Don’t make excuses. Sit down and write, or quit talking about it.
Are you attending any conventions in the next year? Which ones?  So far, I know I’m planning to attend RT in May and GRL in October.
Have you read any great books lately?  Skybound by Aleksandr Voinov. For like the twelfth time since I got it in December. I’m also currently reading Santuario by G. B. Gordon, I’m just progressing slowly because I have been so busy lately. Hoping to finish that one soon, though, because I really like it so far.
Have you always loved romance writing? Not really, to be honest. I had a hard time finding romance novels I enjoyed, even though I liked the idea, and it never really appealed to me as a genre to write. Then in 2008 I decided to give it a try under the (misguided) assumption it would be “easier” (because I was doing NaNoWriMo on short notice and didn’t have time to plot out an epic fantasy). It was indeed simpler to plot than an epic fantasy, but easy? No. And then I realized I could write romances the way *I* wanted to read them, and everything just sort of fell into place.
Where do you find your inspiration? Pretty much anywhere. A random comment from a conversation. Some factoid I stumble across on Wikipedia. I even have one story that was inspired by a friend posting about his wife finding out she was pregnant, and they hoped the baby was a girl (and  trust me, the story that came to me isn’t what you think!). Maybe it’s ADD, I don’t know, but just about anything can trigger a plot bunny in my brain.
If you could meet any of your characters in real life, who would it be any why? Well, definitely not the boys from A Chip In His Shoulder and Something New Under the Sun. They both have slight grudges against me.
What’s coming up in 2013?  A lot. Like, A LOT.  I’ve recently teamed up with Aleksandr Voinov, and in just over two months, we’ve written two novels, two novellas, and a short story (Quid Pro Quo, anyone?), plus we’re partway through another novel with numerous other ideas waiting in the wings. I’m also co-writing a story with Cat Grant, and between Heidi CullinanMarie Sexton, and myself, there are some moreTucker Springs books on the horizon.
On my own, I’ve got a whole bunch of contemporaries in the works, along with some SFF and paranormal stuff.
In other words: Hang on, folks! It’s gonna be a busy year.

Liam Lansing is heir to a prominent family of bio-modified vampires. That is, until he chooses the wrong lover and is cast down to the Gutter to scrape for his life.

Daniel Harding is heir to Cybernetix and a prince of the corporate Sky. That is, until his ideology drives his father to put a price on his head, forcing him into the Gutter.
But Daniel and Liam won’t vanish meekly into the smog. Together, they plan to rip open the hidden corruption that runs the Sky—for vengeance, for justice, and for hope. They strike against the corporations in a daring raid. When everything goes wrong, Daniel must betray his core beliefs to save the man he loves and protect his dangerous secret. Only through courage in the face of death—or worse—might he and Liam change the world they live in and create something new under the sun.
Something New Under the Sun is available January 21st from Riptide Publishing. Also available: the prequel, A Chip In His Shoulder.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer currently living in the glamorous and ultra-futuristic metropolis of Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two cats, and a disembodied penguin brain that communicates with her telepathically. In addition to writing smut and disturbing the locals, L.A. is said to be working with the US government to perfect a genetic modification that will allow humans to survive indefinitely on Corn Pops and beef jerky. This is all a cover, though, as her primary leisure activity is hunting down her arch nemesis, erotica author Lauren Gallagher, who is also said to be lurking somewhere in Omaha.
L. A.’s backlist is available on her website, and updates (as well as random thoughts and the odd snarky comment) can be found on her blog or on Twitter (@GallagherWitt).
