Book Tour for Nobody's Angel by Stacy Gail (Guest Post & GIVEAWAY)

There's something sexy about a man who's thought of as good and still shows a naughty side.  In Nobody's Angel by Stacy Gail we're introduced to the angel Zeke who's utterly delish and sworn to protect.  So are you tempted yet?  Keep reading to learn more about this book as well as signing up for a great giveaway just by commenting.....

I'm too Sexy For My.....Wings

First off, I’d like to thank Joder for allowing me to stop by Words of Wisdom and chat about NOBODY’S ANGEL, my latest release from Carina Press, and the first book in The Earth Angels paranormal romance series!
I had a conversation with my best friend about what was coming up, and we got snagged on a rather unusual subject…
BFF: So, have any projects going?
Me: Yeah! I’m launching into a four-part paranormal steamy romance series, The Earth Angels!  Each book will have its own story to tell, lots of lovey-dovey stuff, danger and intrigue, plus it’ll have an overall story arc that ties them all together.
BFF: Nice! Kind of like the Harry Potter books?
Me:  Kinda.  But with sexy times.
BFF:  Even better. So what makes it paranormal—werewolves?  Aliens?  Wizards with wayward wands?
Me:  Nice alliteration.  Nope, no wizards.  Right now I’m in love with the idea of modern-day descendants of the nearly extinct angel-human hybrid race, the Nephilim!  The first book, NOBODY’S ANGEL spotlights a true superhero who’s descended from an angel of death.  His powers are awesome—blurring-fast speed, gorgeous black wings, the ability to banish or pass spiritual beings from this realm to the next, shadow manipulation, and he’s got this gorgeous body—
BFF:  Wait.  Wings?  He has actual wings? Like…anatomically attached?
I suppose I could see why this might give my BFF pause.  She’d be the first to admit that paranormal isn’t her thing, and superheroes even less so.  After all, she’s a doctor whose life is dominated by her magnificent, analytical left brain (and she’s my go-to medical source in my writing, heh).  Her read-for-pleasure material usually consists of medical-trade magazines.  And the only reason she knows about the Potter books is because I’ve bored her to tears telling her alllllll about them.  A superhero with wings?  It was probably too much to ask for her to accept without at least batting an eye or two.  And to think of a man with wings as a sexy leading man…
Talk about a tough sell.
In NOBODY’S ANGEL, Zeke Reece is a paramedic by day, and pursues dangerous spiritual beings by night.  He wears a mask out of fear he’ll be seen—not by people, but by any heavenly presence.  Long ago, the original Nephilim were considered a cursed race and were slated for extermination. Because of this, Zeke is all too aware that he and his kind are probably living on borrowed time.
Yet despite this daily weight on his shoulders Zeke forges ahead without faltering, doing all that he can to keep his corner of the world safe, and he does all of this utterly alone.  After all, he’s descended from an almost-extinct race that does everything it can to avoid detection, including following the rule of no congregating.  And he sure as hell doesn’t share his life with anyone else, since he’s painfully aware of being a freak with all that extra anatomy hanging off his back.  I suppose he’s a little like my BFF—he can’t believe anyone could possibly value a thing like him.
What Zeke doesn’t know is that there are plenty of people out there in the world who don’t give a damn about surface looks.  One of the most touching romances of all time is the legendary Beauty and the Beast, where love is shown at its purest when it is blind.  In his own way, Zeke has a type of blindness—he doesn’t see his own value.  Luckily, Kendall Glynn does.
When a dangerous spirit targets Kendall, Zeke is drawn to her, appearing in her life both in his everyday guise and as the mysterious masked protector who will do anything to keep safe this woman who becomes so precious to him.  I ask you, what woman would be able to resist the potent combination of attentive protector and wounded, lonely soul?  In Kendall’s eyes—once she gets over the shock of a man with wings—the beauty inside the man makes everything else pale in comparison, proving beyond all doubt that love truly is blind.
And also, I think black wings really are kinda sexy. ;)

So, who’s right?  Me, or my BFF?  Feel free to let me know in the comments below!

Book one in The Earth Angels

Investigative journalist Kendall Glynn is horrified when a friend and colleague signs off permanently during a live newscast, jabbing a pen into his jugular. Kendall's no expert, but judging by the strange white veil in the anchorman's eyes, she would swear he was a man possessed.
A descendant of the accursed Nephilim, Zeke Reece prowls San Francisco by night, keeping the city free from paranormal phenomena. But even he is no match for whatever malevolent force is behind a recent rash of murder-suicides. And when a beautiful tenacious reporter becomes the next target, Zeke has no choice but to stay close to her, until he can find the evil spirit and cross it over.
The closer Kendall gets to the truth, the more danger she's in. Fortunately, a sexy and mysterious masked stranger keeps swooping in to the rescue. Kendall's life depends on finding who or what is responsible for the killings, before it finds her.

EXCERPT:

Kendall’s gear-stripped brain couldn’t come up with an adequate answer, but she soon discovered no verbal response was necessary. Body language was what was important now, and Zeke seemed to be fluent in this particular form of mind-melting communication. There was no hint of hesitancy in his kiss, no tentative getting-to-know-you pressure. From the moment their lips touched, it was a bold devouring that conquered her mind, body and soul.
This wasn’t a kiss. This was a claiming.
From the moment he’d entered her life, she had wondered on some basic, purely feminine level what his mouth felt like. Tasted like. His full lower lip fascinated her, and the corners that curved with wicked sensuality made her suspect it was capable of all sorts of voluptuous sin. But to have it pressed against hers as if he had wondered the same thing was enough to dissolve her every lucid thought. He kissed her as if it were the one thing he had been put on earth to do, and he was going to do it until he’d mastered the craft.

  6. I like his wings, I just assumed that fallen angels had black ones, of course Nephilims are not fallen angels but products of mixed bloodlines. So Zeke is a mortal but has some angelic attributes? How did his ancessters survived the great flood?

    1. Excellent comment! *high-fives* And yeah--I waffled for some time about the color of Zeke's wings, but the black suits him to a T. And you've got it absolutely right--Zeke is a mortal with a few angelic attributes.

As for how the ancestral Naphilim survived the Great Flood, they survived in the same way that Goliath's Nephilim ancestor, Anak, survived. ^_^ Actually, I can't tell you any more about that yet, because my own theory on how the Nephilim race managed to squeak through extinction comes in a later book. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, that was fun!

  7. Now I'm somewhat reminded of the Supernatural series, what with angels and hunting paranormal elements. Is Zeke the last of the Nephilim descendents?

    1. Wow, cool. My beta reader is a HUGE fan of Supernatural, and she said the same thing. She keeps trying to get me to watch, so maybe I'll cave and see what the deal is :)

And while Zeke is EXTREMELY rare, there are a few other Nephilim about. Their books will be coming out this year to complete the series. *happy dance*
