Book Tour for Three and Out by Meghan Quinn (Review)

Fans of sports-themed romances will find the Love and Sports series an utter delight!  Keep reading to get a taste of the final installment in the series, Three and Out by Meghan Quinn, along with a glimpse of the other books in the series.  You'll also get my impression of this latest installment as well as learning a few secrets about Ms. Quinn.

LET'S GET TO KNOW MS. QUINN BETTER.......

-Why are readers drawn to sports-themed romances?
Hmm…I don’t know. Maybe it’s the mystery of what goes on in a professional athlete’s life or the fact that you get to read about these athletic and mostly dominant men having mind blowing sex or seeing such big a strong men fall for a girl and show that weaknesses do exist in their lives. Whatever it is, they are hot and they are steamy with a touch of sports!
-When it comes to steamy stories, are there certain elements you won't depict?
Yes, I stay away from mentioning pubic hairs because that shit isn’t sexy. I try to avoid using the word “sex” to describe a ladies vagina. It’s not a bad thing, I think I’ve used it once, I just prefer other words when writing. Things that are part of sex that are kind of taboo, like a queef, I steer clear from unless my intention is to straight up be funny but you won’t catch me writing something like…”His hips pounded into her so hard that little puffs of air escaped her vagina…” Yea, so not sexy.
-Who is your favorite character that you have written, the one who pulls the most at your heartstrings?
The one who pulls at my heartstrings the most? Hmmm…two people. Rook from Toxic and Mason from the Love and Sports Series. They are both broken men, trying to find their way in life and you can’t help but root for them even though they can be moody bastards. Oh, and Kace from Becoming a Jett Girl, his story is heart breaking, plus, all I picture is Stephen Amell when I write his character so I kind of have this thing for him. You know…when you drool uncontrollably…
-What was the inspiration for this series?
The first book, Fair Catch, takes play in college and the two main characters are student-athletes which hits homes with me. I received a full-ride scholarship for softball and it was such an interesting time in my life that I wanted to write it all out. From there, the characters took charge and directed the series as to where they ended up. When I first sat down to write the series, I never thought I would be writing about a love pentagon…good lord! Makes me sweat just thinking about it.
-What do you have planned for us in the future?
So much! Kace from Becoming a Jett Girl will be getting a story. The Addiction Series continues with Rook and Maisy. The Hot-Lanta Series is nowhere near being done. I have some very interesting books coming out next year that will rock your world. So many things and I can’t wait to share them with you. And who knows…there might be a spinoff from the Love and Sports Series…
-Knowing what you do now, would you have done anything different with your career path?
Well, I currently am still working a “real” job so I would have majored in English probably so I could have spent my time reading in college, rather than watching hippy birth videos. Human Development is so not my thing.

Piper was dead to him.
The minute she walked out the door on Mason, he was done.
D.O.N.E.
Now, three months later, he’s still trying to act like he doesn’t care. Like his heart hasn’t been torn into shreds and obliterated beyond recognition.
But it’s not working.
He’s broken and beyond repair.
Then Piper goes missing.
Mason tries to show the world he doesn’t care, but his world is flipped upside down.
A vulnerable Mason finds help in an unexpected place and it’s an offer he can’t refuse.
The knot that has been gripping Mason’s heart slowly starts to unravel and he’s starting to look into his future…
Three and Out runs through the lives of Mason and his friends while they struggle to find love and keep it in their hectic, crazy, drama twisted lives.
Not everyone is meant to be and not everyone who you think should be together, will end up together in the final installment of the Love and Sports series.

EXCERPT:

"Woah, careful there."
"Damn, wet floor. Like mopping is going to make it any better looking."
Jax's ears perked up at hearing a familiar voice. He lifted them both up so they were standing. The woman was brushing off her navy blue, hip-hugging skirt, so he couldn't tell who it was, but when she looked up, Jax instantly knew why he recognized the woman's voice.
"Brooke?"
Her eyes widened, and then recognition fell over her features.
"Jax. Wow, never thought I would ever cross paths with you again. How's it going?"
"Alright, and yourself?"
As Brooke talked about her new clothing line and her little apartment in downtown Denver, Jax took her all in. Her hair was short now, just below chin length, and styled to frame her face. Her body was the same rocking figure he remembered from when he met her at the bar, that awkward night his boys and Jake Taylor all hung out before a pre-season game, and for some reason, her eyes were brighter than he remembered, as if she was breathing a new life.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As a fan of sports-themed romances I've been in love with this series since the first installment with each book as entertaining as the next.  Ms. Quinn has crafted a series full of larger than life men who take bromance to a whole new level with interactions that are immensely humorous and made my eyes water with laughter!  In this book she's taken on an even bigger challenge as she juggles four couple's journeys to HEA.  Here we get to see the pairings of Mason and Piper, Ryker and Hannah, and Jesse and Ashlin as their unrequited love finally comes to fruition.  Throw in the unexpected pairing of Jax and Brooke and you have a story overflowing with love and sex!

Each couple is unique and given ample time to develop their relationship as they've interacted before and are finally acting on feelings long held in check.  The story is told in multiple POVs to give us insight into what each character is thinking and adds to the emotional twists and turns.  Jesse may be the leader and center of attention on the field as quarterback but he longs for home and hearth.  He'd love a family of his own but the woman who embodies all he desires, Ashlin, he believes belongs to another.  Once he discovers the truth it's a shy, yet sweet and sensual, path to romancing her.  She's assertive in counterpoint to his shyness and I enjoyed seeing their bond grow.  Ryker's a humorous guy who's enamored with the woman who's been hurt by her ex and taken the brunt of her anger out on him because of it.  Hannah's ex has left her hesitant to put her heart on the line again but she still wants to be friends with Ryker.  As Ryker too wants more out of life than one-night stands he undertakes a journey to earn her trust which is both sweet, sexy, with bits of humor along the way.  Mason and Piper have the most difficult journey to HEA and the most combustible as she hurt him in the past and then ran away.  Mason's left a broken man showing his grief through numerous and meaningless one-night stands that are graphic in nature and show him at his worst.  Everything having to do with Mason is intense though as he's arrogant in his athletic prowess and in his looks.  You can't help but love him though as he's full of humor and unrepentant in his actions and attitude.  Piper's back and finally sure of what and who she wants which leads to a romance that crackles with sexual tension and gritty sexual encounters.  In Ms. Quinn's talented hands these pairings kept me fully immersed in the story and rooting for each and everyone of them to get what they clearly desired.

Each character is unique and brings something to every reader.  The romances range from sweet and sensual to scorching and blush-inducing.  The characters are all immensely appealing with the interactions between the boys making me laugh out loud in its realism and no-holds-barred attitude.  This has been a delightful series both heartwarming and heartbreaking at times with memorable characters amidst the vividly depicted world of football and fame.  Those looking for steamy scenes and characters easy to fall for will get exactly that with the Love and Sports series and I can't recommend it enough!

My rating for this is an A+

Lexi didn’t see the need to party since she didn’t know what the hell she was doing with her life after college but her friends wouldn’t take no for an answer. Little did she know going to the first party of the season was going to flip her world upside down.

Lexi wants nothing to do with Jake and his partying ways but after one bet gone wrong , she finds herself on a date with the annoyingly obnoxious, egotistical heart throb. Even though she wants nothing to do with him, she finds herself gravitating toward him and giving into his charm. They fall hard and fast for each other as they find love, comfort and a home. They live in their own littler world where nothing matters besides the love they share for each other.
But love isn’t enough for Lexi when she is trying to find her way after college. She slowly sinks into Jake’s shadow and finds herself clawing out of the Jake sized hole she buried herself in so she can find who she is, who she wants to be and what her future holds for her.
Fair Catch is a true love story that goes through the trials and tribulations of Jake and Lexi’s insecurities, jealousies, short comings and strong personalities. Love is one hell of a strong bond but sometimes, it’s not strong enough. Follow Jake and Lexi as they try to hold on to the love they share while they try to find themselves and find out what life is after graduation.

AUTHOR INFO:

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn’t take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch, besides “The Notebook” I made time to read the heartbreaking novel.
It wasn’t until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books, I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven’t turned back since.
You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I am currently residing in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
