MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Readers looking for a fun and flirty read with a bit of angst and a lot of heart will get just that with this romantic tale of lies and love.  When a woman who's the queen of matchmaking finds herself matched with a man she's been lusting after for months in a fake engagement, the sparks will fly.  When friends become lovers the pages will be set on fire until a woman scorned brings the truth out into the open and leaves HEA hanging in the balance.

Max is a sexy beast, charming and successful, and just what every woman wants.  His mother's recent attempt at matchmaking though has left him with the unwanted attentions of a shrewish and manipulative woman who won't take no for an answer.  Out of desperation, and out of lust, when he's given the chance to have his friend pretend to be his fiancee to get rid of the attentions of this petty admirer...he jumps at the chance.  From that moment on he and Hailey are on an erotically-charged road to HEA if she can just push past her self-esteem issues to embrace all the decadent delights Max is more than willing to give her.  Max is clearly drawn to Hailey the minute they meet but the ring on her finger holds him back.  The moment she admits the truth though he'll use it to his advantage as she's unlike any woman he's known before.  He's drawn to her naivete and sweetness and enjoys bringing out her naughty side in a relationship that's running out of time.  With time running out Max makes a final Hail Mary to make Hailey his in a cheer-inducing moment.

Hailey doesn't have the body of a model, she's got curves, and it's always weighed on her and been a roadblock in her previous relationships.  A single event in college tarnished how she sees herself and has her ending every connection since then before things get too physical.  As a matchmaker though her business is all about relationships which leads to a lie...and a ring on her finger.  To keep up the facade she agrees to a short-term "engagement" with the friend who has her thinking far too many naughty thoughts.  Hailey's got very low self-esteem and is easily hurt by the words of the woman grasping on to Max.  She's too sweet and daunted by fighting for herself though which was a bit frustrating at times, but luckily for her Max and her strong and supportive group of friends stood up for her.  Being with Max brings Hailey out of her shell, has her turning into a sex kitten through numerous scorching encounters.  Will her time with Max free her from the past, or will she forever be alone as she lets her doubts rule her future?  It's a question that kept me on the edge of my seat and rooting for her every step of the way.

This was a quick read of friends becoming lovers full of dirty talk and sexy interludes that put a blush on my cheeks while burning up the pages.  There were charming moments balanced with sweet and sexy encounters that kept me happily turning the pages as I became fully invested in the outcome.  The storyline was satisfying for the most part except for Max's petty admirer, Addison.  She was vicious with her words and her inclusion felt a bit formulaic. Luckily her appearances were few and far between to allow Max and Hailey to shine.  Max was the quintessential book boyfriend through his words and deeds as he was the King of Dirty Talk and made Hailey embrace her size and desires without guilt.  Hailey was a work in progress from the first page to the last.  She was full of self-doubts early on, held back her heart, and with each step forward she took I cheered.  She was a heroine you could relate to matched with a man who treated her like a precious gift which will leave readers swooning. Surrounding this appealing main couple is a colorful and outspoken cast of secondary characters, some we've seen before, as well as others who have me excited for the future.  On a whole this is a romance that will keep readers blushing and cheering from the first page to the last!

My rating for this is a B+
