Book Tour for The Hobby Shop on Barnaby Street by Jillianne Hamilton….

Amidst the chaos and danger of WW2, a woman determined to prove herself falls for her brother's business partner in a relationship teeming with secrets.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Hobby Shop on Barnaby Street by Jillianne Hamilton, then add this first installment in the Homefront Hearts series to your bookshelf while it's free too!

A forbidden wartime romance begins just as German planes fill the skies over London in 1940. A playful and heartfelt read perfect for fans of Dear. Mrs. Bird, The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir, and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
When Maisie Beckett steps into her brother’s struggling London hobby shop during wartime, she’s confronted with two harsh realities: the looming threat of a Nazi invasion and the shop’s dire financial situation. Determined to prove herself to her parents and keep the shop afloat, Maisie moonlights as a pinup photographer, covertly boosting the shop’s earnings. In the midst of London’s nightly bombings, Maisie finds herself irresistibly drawn to the shop’s co-owner, Cal Woodbury, captivated by his quick wit and bashful smile—and his mysterious secret.
But Cal made a promise to his best friend and business partner, Roy—a promise that he would never pursue a romantic relationship with Maisie, Roy’s sweet and beautiful sister. As the German bombs rain down upon London, and as Cal’s bond with Maisie deepens, he discovers that some promises are impossible to keep. When Roy deserts the Navy and unexpectedly appears at Cal’s doorstep, Cal is forced to choose between his loyal friend and the woman he’s falling for.
While London goes to war around them, Maisie and Cal face their own battle—finding their courage and recognizing their worth.

EXCERPT:

Just before five o’clock I pulled the ladder from the back office and hauled the blackout curtains from under the front counter. They weren’t technically black but a dark mossy green. They did the trick though, even satisfying the local ARP wardens who were sticklers for the blackout rules. As I went through my daily ritual of tacking the curtains over the shop front windows, along the top and sides specifically, I stretched to reach the top corner of the curtain to stick it in place. Suddenly, the ladder shifted underneath me, tilting on one leg before falling sideways and smashing to the floor, me along with it.
The bell over the door sounded and I felt the nudge of the door push against my arm.
“Goodness!” someone said from the other side of the door, only able to open it about an inch or so.
“I’m fine,” I said, pushing the ladder off, kicking the useless thing out of the way and then getting to my feet.
With me out of the way, a messenger opened the door further and poked his head in. “You’re sure you’re not hurt, mister?”
“Only my pride,” I said, ignoring the ache spreading in my shoulder. I opened the door wider for him. “Can I help you?”
He pulled a card from his bag. “Telegram for you.” He tipped his hat at me and continued on his route.
I raised an eyebrow at the heavy capital lettering of the telegram.
Maisie will assist at shop. - George Beckett
Rereading it I scratched the back of my neck. I realized telegrams charged by the word, but a little more explanation would have been appreciated.

I hadn’t seen Maisie since we were kids. My most significant memory of her was from before Mum and I left Hazeldon to live in London with my uncle and his family.
I was seven or eight when I saw her running alone into the little wooded area outside the village and I followed her. She was sitting astride a moss-covered log when I found her, taking photographs of a frog or something. Her long braids trailed down her back and her shoes were caked in mud. I sneaked up behind her and scared her and she got cross with me because the frog got away. We sat together on the log for a while and I don’t know why I did it, but I asked if I could kiss her. We both leaned in, closed our eyes, our lips puckered, and we shared our first kiss together. I remembered feeling very shy around her after that.
I sighed and cursed under my breath again. I didn’t want Maisie coming to London for my sake, not when the Luftwaffe was on our doorstep.

Book Release Blast for Legacy by Marie James (REVIEW)……

An unconventional promise leads to an unforgettable romance between two people brought together through their mutual loss and pain.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Legacy by Marie James, along with getting my impressions of it, then add this 28th installment in the Cerberus MC series to your bookshelf too!

I never expected to see her again.
The connection we shared through her brother was severed when he died in combat.
Their parents were adamant that I never reach out to them again.
I forgot about the pact I made, my promise to make her mine if I wasn’t married by thirty.
The only answer I had for her when she showed up with that handwritten note was no.
Only Devyn Malloy isn’t the type to take no for an answer.
Cerberus welcomed her with open arms, but as that became enough for her, I realized it might not be enough for me...

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Twenty eight installments and still going strong!  Whenever I need a sweet and sensual tale I know that the Cerberus MC will give me just that in a reliably entertaining story.  And that is definitely what readers will get with this standalone story of loss and finding love and happiness when you least expect it.  With each turn of the page readers will be charmed by this slow-burn romance based on a promise to the sister of a best friend, a promise that eventually becomes a lifeline to reaching a dream and getting a HEA.

Emmett “Legacy” Wilson always knew he was destined to be a Marine.  Too bad that once he joined up things didn't go as planned.  With the painful death of his best friend, who joined because of their friendship, Legacy was left adrift and feeling guilty.  Because of the death he's further banished from being part of his friend's family, instead becoming a part of the Cerberus MC.  Years later though there's a blast from the past courtesy of his friend's little sister and the endearing promise he made her years ago...a promise that's now a lifeline for her.  Coming face to face with the young girl he feels obligated to rouses all sorts of feelings within him, feelings of attraction and guilt just a few of those feelings in a slow and steady journey to HEA.  Legacy's a likable hero with an endearing sense of honor.  My heart hurt for him as he dealt with the loss of his friend, cut off from those most likely to help him heal.  Upon seeing Devyn he immediately felt unworthy of her, saw all the reasons they shouldn't be together, but her determination fueled their journey to HEA.

Devyn Malloy also suffered much when her brother died.  She became nothing but a ghost in the eyes of her parents as everything was always about their son.  They took care of her basic needs but none of her emotional ones.  For years she puts up with being a shadow but the moment she decides to grab something for herself, her parents kick her out and try to derail her dream of becoming a fashion designer.  Devyn thankfully remembers a long ago promise that has Legacy (and the Cerberus MC) acting as a safe haven where she finally starts to feel loved, acknowledged, and supported.  Devyn's a likable heroine with a surprising sense of maturity.  She might be 18 in years, but her actions and decisions speak of someone much older.  Devyn's a determined young woman, determined in her choice of careers, and in claiming the man she's always been drawn to in a slow-burn romance I was cheering for every step of the way.

This was a sweet, sentimental, and sensual second chance romance that warmed my heart while slowly building and becoming more richly rewarding.  The connection between Legacy and Devyn also evolved into something more emotional, something that acted as a healing balm to them both after their mutual loss.  The Cerberus MC once again offered solid support, giving Devyn a sense of family that she's been missing.  Old faces, along with a few new ones, has me looking forward to what comes next courtesy of this unconventional family.

My rating for this is a B+

Book Release Blast for Restless Rockstar by Gina Azzi (REVIEW)……

The all-consuming romance between Derek and Allegra comes to a hard-fought conclusion in this emotionally intense tale of love and personal growth.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Restless Rockstar by Gina Azzi, along with getting my impressions of this second chance romance, then add this third and final installment in The Burnt Clovers Trilogy to your bookshelf!

Derek Reiner is an epic, consuming, forever, kind of love.
He’s also at the center of my deepest heartache.
While he focuses on his personal growth, I figure out my future.
As much as I want him in it, I won't choose Derek at the expense of myself. Not anymore.
My rockstar may be desperate and restless, but I’m calm and decisive. Some epic loves burn out before they have the chance to blaze. Sometimes, it’s for the best.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

The connection between Derek and Allegra has been obvious from the very start!  That connection, while undeniable, put them and us through the wringer throughout the previous two installments and continues here.  There's a lot of angst in this story, but instead of breaking these two, it helped them grow and become who they were meant to be.  Derek in particular showed a deeper level of maturity here, using his past pain as a learning moment...learning more about himself in order to reach a well-deserved HEA. He's worked hard to become the man Allegra deserves, learning forgiveness and a better way to be with his bandmates and Allegra.  He's been through so much throughout this trilogy, breaking my heart repeatedly (along with frustrating me as well), with him finally rising from the ashes to live up to all the promises he's given Allegra over the years.

Allegra showed emotional growth here too, but it didn't hit me as hard.  That's not to say that I didn't enjoy watching her mature though...because I definitely did as it was needed.  She was a lovestruck young girl when readers first met her, but here she's become a strong and independent woman who knows what she wants.  She stands on her own two feet in a determined path to HEA that had me cheering her on.

This is a story full of twists and turns, a story full of personal growth and emotional inner dialogues that pulled at my heartstrings.  It's a tale that builds you up before knocking you back before building you up again.  Derek and Allegra worked hard to be together, growing up themselves before being able to stand beside the one person always meant to be theirs.  It made for a heavy-handed journey at times.  Thankfully readers can count on the friends and bandmates of this pair to lighten up things.  The banter they engage in is funny and feel-good and I hope to see these secondary characters in the future.  This story ends on just the right note, wrapping up the past while giving a taste of the future.  Two epilogues give readers reason to cheer and have definitely left me longing for more of Maverick.

My rating for this is an A.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Upon turning the final page of this book I'm once again left drained and curled up in the fetal position.  After putting me through the emotional wringer Ms. Azzi ripped my heart out once again with a painful cliffhanger (two of them to be exact) that makes this THE series to read, each installment requiring more of an emotional investment than the last.

It's been four months since the last book ended and the romance between Derek and Allegra continues to burn.  It's a painful burn though, one that takes them from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows.  With each turn of the page this couple digs deep into their emotional well, sharing much about themselves and letting readers see them warts and all.  Allegra's narrative especially broke my heart with her dark moments having me want to hug her.  Derek was truly trying upon his return this time, trying to prove he was the man for her, the man who could unwaveringly love and support her. Just when he thought everything was coming together though, along with readers, fate intervened and brought his past to the forefront where he could no longer ignore it.

On a whole this is an angst-filled romance, a sizzling tale that pulls at the heartstrings, plucking them like a guitar.  There's a sensual and emotional tug of war surrounding these two, breaking my heart numerous times before giving glimmers of hope that kept me turning the pages.  With its two cliffhangers it's a one-two punch for readers...so, stock up on tissues to get ready for the end of this trilogy hitting bookshelves next month!

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

From the moment I picked up this book I knew my heart was going to be put through the wringer...and it definitely did as a young woman hoping to find her purpose tries to reconnect with her brother as well as the man who first touched her heart.  With each turn of the page readers will be pulled into this less than perfect world, drawn to these bruised and broken characters, all while being occasionally frustrated by the push and pull between these long-term loves.

Derek Reiner is the proverbial rockstar as he lives fast, gorging on women and fun, while trying to balance that with the darker side of his life.  He's always had demons but now that he's reached the top of the rockstar world the demons that were once in the background have now come to the forefront.  He's on a self-destructive slide (he and his bandmates) when this story starts and the only one who might be able to save him is his bandmate's little sister in this forbidden romance teeming with angst.  Derek's clearly hurting at the start of this story, feeling unworthy and not good enough to be loved.  When it comes to Allegra though he wants to be good enough and it becomes a slow-burn of emotions between the two of them, a push/pull that put them (and readers) through the wringer.  Allegra has never forgotten that long ago kiss from Derek, and while taking time off from college to find herself, she decides to see "what if" where Derek's concerned.  Allegra's a wonderful heroine, one with a big and loving heart.  She wants to belong, feel like she's part of something, and it's definitely an uphill climb to HEA as she and Derek dance around each other.  At times Derek can be cruel, while at other times he had me drooling over him.  He's always compelling though, and I always found a way to forgive himself despite his toxic rockstar god behavior.  For every two steps forward there was one step back as these two addressed more of their pasts and desires for the future.

With this being a trilogy I knew things were going to end on a cliffhanger...and it's one I was fully expecting to see play out.  The conclusion is one that still made me gasp though, still made my heart hurt, and still had me rooting for this clearly bruised couple.  Along with the angsty push/pull of this story's main couple, I was equally intrigued by the other bandmates, longing for their stories to be told as their demons need to be healed too.  On a whole this book pulls you in, pushes on your heartstrings, and I'm now left waiting breathlessly for the next installment.

My rating for this is a B+

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

From the moment I started reading this book there was a definite sense of familiarity with a storyline that's been done before.  But in the hands of these two talented authors it was also a storyline that was cleverly crafted, featuring a likable main couple with witty banter and a sizzling connection.  Issues regarding body image were also depicted in a way that was both positive and empowering...and for that I applaud this writing duo.

Jessica Cavanaugh has always had a crush on her brother's best friend (and current business partner), Derek, but for many reasons the two never moved out of the friend-zone.  Jessica's not the kind of heroine who needs a man to be complete though and at the start of the story she's a newbie designer catering to plus-sized women and starting to make a name for herself.  She has no intention of bidding on a man at the charity auction she's attending, but discovering that Derek's nasty ex is going to bid on him has Jessica rescuing him from her nefarious plan.  His weekend of servitude might start off with him doing house repairs but it soon takes a more intimate turn as they grow closer together through shared truths.  Jessica's a likable and strong-willed woman, one who's confident in who she is after years of feeling insecure.  When it comes to Derek she knows what she wants and is no longer willing to hold back.  She's a good friend to others too, supportive and talented in making women look and feel their best and she's someone you could easily see yourself being friends with.

Derek Bettencourt is a delicious hero, one who's proven himself to be caring and protective in a previous story featuring his younger sister.  Six months ago he dumped his unpleasant ex but she's not done with him yet which fuels this story and has me rooting for her to get her comeuppance by the final page.  Derek and Jessica are delightful together with a sweet and sizzling connection and knowing each other for so many years adds a level of comfort to their interactions.  He respects Jessica, admires her talent and her defense of his sister, all while watching her make her own decisions while standing beside her in support.  With her business facing sabotage, and her reputation on the line though, he'll have to support her more than ever in a romantic tale nicely balanced with moments of suspense.

On a whole this is a feel-good story, a sweet and sexy connection that slowly becomes something more.  With a romance that crackles and a connection that pulls at your heartstrings Jessica and Derek are a delight to watch.  I cheered their unwavering support for each other while feeling every emotional up and down they experienced throughout the book.  This is a quick read overall and one I was ready to start over the moment I reached The End!

My rating for this is a B+

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.
So, why the new pen name?
As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.
Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.

BUY LINKS:  AMAZON  |  BN  |  iBOOKS  |  KOBO  |  GOOGLE PLAY  |  AUDIBLE

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

From the moment I saw Ash Talmadge I became completely obsessed with him!  He's sexy and swoon-worthy with a past that made him the man he is today.  Previous books showed him in a relationship with someone who clearly wasn't for him, brought out choices that made me want to slap him.  With this book though he finally finds "his person" and oh what a beautifully angsty journey it is for him...and for Amelia Ballantine.

As the best friend of her brother, Ash has been in Amelia's life since they were young.  They had a deep connection, one that took on a romantic vibe for Amelia, but it never moved beyond that.  The time was just never right for them to be anything more than caring friends.  Times with him dating others or her dating others left them dancing around one another in a sensually, frustrating dance that kept me on the edge of my seat.  Previously, readers got to see choices from Ash's and other's viewpoints, but this time around readers see things more from Amelia's perspective.  Ms. Linde has cleverly crafted this pair's lifelong timeline, shown charming moments that displayed their feelings for one another subtly growing, and it made me like both of them all the more.  Overall there's a lyrical feel to this story, one that enthralled me while depicting an epic love trying to come to fruition.

Ash and Amelia were a compelling couple throughout their bumpy journey to HEA.  As their love for one another grew, so too did my love for them as I rooted for all the stars to align to finally bring them together forever.  Ash was the kind of hero who calls to you.  He didn't always make the right choices but he always tried to do right.  He especially tried to do right by Amelia and didn't act on his love for her until he knew he could give her his all...and his all was truly romantic!  Through all the ups and downs Amelia remained a wonderful heroine, one with a caring heart and a genuine personality that was immensely likable.  She had a strong will and a dedication to her job and these two individuals together were magical.  Surrounding them were characters from past books that tied all these stories together with a big bow of happiness.  By the turn of the final page readers will be left with a smile on their face with proof that true love is worth the wait!

My rating for this is an A.
