Book Tour for O Christmas Three by Suzan Butler (Review & Guest Post)

Those looking for a bit of heat in this chilly winter will find that and more with O Christmas Three by Suzan Butler.
The reunion of these three close knit people has been ten years in the making and after a bout of emotional honesty leads to a few days of combustible sexual encounters and a dramatic change to all their futures.  So read on to get a taste of this book and then put it on your Santa list to enjoy all the naughtiness.

A twist on snowbound romance.....
When I was a kid, I remember sneaking my mother’s romances from their place in the garage, especially on cold days when I couldn’t go outside to play. I was a voracious reader, so anything that was bound together and looked like a book, I wanted to read.
This was about the time when I discovered Harlequin’s snowbound romances. What? Gorgeous hero man snuck in tiny mountain cottage with heroine?
Yes, please.
I blew through those books easily. I think I might have skipped right over the young adult category straight to Harlequins too.
But that was the background for O Christmas Three. I often describe it as a twist on the snowbound romance trope. I think that it describes the book quite well.
We have Garrett and his wife Brianna, who both secretly harbor feelings for Garrett’s best friend , Leo.  They spend every year up in a mountain cabin with Leo. One year, Brianna decides enough is enough and it’s time they finally get together.
It’s not a coincidence that a snowstorm keeps the three of them barricaded in Leo’s cabin. It’s a product of all those years of reading snowbound romances. And honestly, I might have more of them inside me, waiting to be written. I don’t know.
I doubt that all of them will be ménages like this one, but this was a very organic experience for me. I started it out as just Garrett and Brianna heading out to have some alone time and when they arrived at the cabin, Leo was there. From that point, I knew the three of them were meant to be together and it was my job to bring them together.
And you know, what better Christmas present for a person than a hot hockey player like Leo?
I wouldn’t complain…

Garrett and Brianna Zane have the perfect marriage on the surface. They share everything from love to their wildest sexual desires with ease. So when Brianna confesses she wants a threesome with his best friend Leobardo Vasquez, it awakens feelings Garrett has long tried to forget.
But the smoldering attraction between Leo and Brianna is hard to deny and even harder to dismiss when it’s all he can think about, especially when the three are trapped together in Leo’s cabin during a snowstorm. Seducing Leo will test their relationship, reveal old secrets, and maybe tear them apart. While there may be room for Leo in bed, there may not be room for a third in their marriage.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THE BOOK:

Ménage stories are always a bit hard to believe with three people coming together and not having jealousy issues.  Ms. Butler addresses those very real issues and creates a sense of believability to make this an immensely satisfying story featuring three very likable people.

Hockey player Leo and Garrett used to share women, and each other, over ten years ago until Leo's worry over the world finding out about his love for Garrett had him leaving.  Garrett moved on with Brianna but after ten years of marriage both realize that there's something missing.  A Christmas vacation with Leo leads to emotional truths that no one can hide behind any longer where each participant has to put aside worries about what others think and accept that nothing is more important than love in whatever form it occurs.

Ms. Butler created a super steamy story that flowed along nicely giving equal time to each person and each of their sexual encounters.  The encounters between Leo and Garrett were just as loving and combustible as those between Bri and Garrett and Bri and Leo.  These scenes were sweat-inducing and had this reader reaching for water.  While these scenes took up a large part of the story there was still ample time spent on addressing and resolving feelings of jealousy each partner felt at one point or another throughout the story.  The resolution of these feelings seemed simplistic and occurred late in the story so felt a bit rushed but was no less satisfying.

Those who enjoy f/m stories as well as m/m stories will find this short story to be everything they're looking for.  There's good character interaction and sweaty and erotic sexual encounters that put an interesting spin on the Christmas carol this story is named after and will leave you with many naughty dreams just in time for Christmas.

My rating for this is a B+

*I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
