Why are romance readers still drawn to westerns, and why do you love writing these stories for them?
My best guess as to why readers love western settings and cowboys and such is that those stories are set on the frontier—a place where anything might (and probably did) happen. In general,rules don’t apply and characters have a great deal of freedom when it comes to making choices. Also, I think since characters in these stories are fiercely independent and have a can-do attitude, they are stories that give the reader a real sense of pride in what it means to be an American—yesterday and today.
