Book Release Blitz for Crossing the Line by Kendall Ryan (REVIEW)

It’s a sweet and sexy romance of friends becoming lovers in this tale full of witty banter and sexual tension found amidst the pages of this delightful read.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Crossing the Line by Kendall Ryan, along with my impressions of it, then add this fourth installment in the Hot Jocks series to your bookshelf!

Hello, rock? Meet hard place.
Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn’t exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation.
But I’ll admit, being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who’s just graduated from medical school, doesn’t exactly sound like a hardship.
We spend a week together at my family’s beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me—which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.
She’s funny and kind, and after just being myself for the first time in a long time, my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she’s not looking for a relationship, I’m bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time—this time with her.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Win it comes to the theme of friends-to-lovers Ms. Ryan has become one of my go-to authors as she has crafted many unforgettable couples, especially those in the Hot Jocks series.  This latest installment in the series has sexy hockey player Asher still off the ice while recovering from a groin injury.  He’s feeling frustrated by his injury but the chance to go to a family event for one week will get his mind on something other than his groin.  There’s a small issue though as the team’s doctors demand that he take a medical worker with him.  Enter his friend Bailey, busy with her upcoming medical school graduation to think of anything else and who Asher’s long felt an attraction to.  She’s a caring and supportive friend though and agrees to go with him which gives her greater insight into the kind of man Asher really is.  Their time away puts them in close quarters, gives them a glimpse of the other that they’ve never seen, and has them taking a more steamy journey to HEA than they ever thought possible.

Asher’s a delicious hero, a strong-willed hockey player who just wants to get back on the ice.  Still recovering he’s feeling bored and frustrated, so the chance to spend time with family appeals to him.  The time he spends with them brings out a softer side, a caring and sweet side that made my uterus hurt whenever he interacted with his nieces. I especially enjoyed his scenes with his Grandma Lolli as she was a sassy woman who he showed great love for while she subtly played matchmaker throughout his time with her.  He has a commanding presence, an alpha male who encourages Bailey while letting her stand strongly on her own.  Bailey was an equally wonderful heroine who doesn’t think she has time for anything but work.  She doesn’t have time for anything serious when it comes to matters of the heart, but seeing Asher in a whole new light has her thinking of forever...a forever with him possibly.  Her views of him slowly change the more he interacts with his family.  His obvious love for them, his playfulness with his nieces, had him endearing himself to Bailey and it warmed my heart.  Along with falling even deeper in love with Asher, Bailey found herself drawn to his family and wholeheartedly accepted into their circle which put a smile on my face.

This was a quick and immensely satisfying read with witty banter, funny encounters, and a sizzling romance of friends-to-lovers.  Asher and Bailey are likable characters and I enjoyed seeing their romance get steamier with each turn of the page.  Alongside this appealing main couple was a cast of characters that we’ve seen in past installments and I loved the familial vibe amongst the teammates and friends that immersed us further into the story.  Asher’s family was a definite highlight too as they brought out a different side to his personality, a side that made me fall for him even more, and made Bailey feel even more loved.  With each new installment in the Hot Jocks series Ms. Ryan continues to gift readers with romances full of heart and soul...as well as many smiles....and readers definitely need to add these decadently delightful tales to their bookshelves!

My rating for this is an A-
