MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
Fans of stories with sexy, tattooed heroes with loving hearts will be immediately drawn to this tale of opposites attracting. With Colton a highlight of this story, readers will be drooling over his bad boy looks and determination to get the girl in his instant attraction to her. Add in his equally drool-worthy friend, Ian, and you'll have bright hopes for the next installment in this series while adding the two of them to your book boyfriend list.
When readers first meet Melissa they see a woman bruised by her past, someone who's locked her fragile heart away as she's not interested in putting it in someone else's keeping ever again. Melissa's already been betrayed by her longtime ex-boyfriend after finding him in bed with another and it's left her reeling from the betrayal. Her best friend Lily is a strong support to her though, pushing Melissa to get out there and live and not let her ex's machinations affect her any more. Lily's plan to go to a tattoo parlor is just the life altering event Melissa needs as she meets the enigmatic Colton, a sexy beast who's very interested in her. The journey they undertake though is definitely bumpy, teeming with sensuality and angst. For Colton, he's attracted to Melissa from the very start and doesn't hesitate in letting her know how he feels. It's not as easy for her though as she has no interest in commitment and it results in a constant push/pull between her and Colton that has you wondering "will they/won't they". Melissa's definitely down in the dumps at the start of the story, she often left me frustrated as she pulled Colton close one moment while pushing him away the next. There were times I didn't like her very much, was angry at her for hurting Colton by locking him in the Friend Zone despite his attraction to her being so obvious. She clearly had a lot of growing up to do and with each turn of the page readers see a woman maturing through the events life has thrown at her. Being in Colton's life also has a positive impact on her, relegating her feelings of betrayal to the past as he repeatedly proves himself to her, in a romance that sizzles and that has me falling even harder for him. Add in Lily and Ian and you have a strong set of secondary characters, hardworking matchmaker, that has me counting down the days until future installments in this series are released!
