Gwen
The boy I once loved is now the fearless Vice President of the Iron Outlaws MC.
And he hates me.
Because of something that happened years ago. It's not my fault his father ended up inside for life because of that night. But that doesn't stop him holding me captive until I tell him what happened. Except I can't. Because not knowing is why I'm back here in this cesspit.
Clutch
The girl I once loved is now the enemy of my club.
Even though she's also the sister of my best friend and our club's new president.
I don't care that trouble brings her to my door looking for help. She doesn't deserve our protection. Until she tells me a secret that stands everything we know about the club on end. Sins well hidden killed what chance of happiness we once had. But now, they're going to kill her.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

As a fan of MC romances I gobble up each new release in the genre, and with the release of this first installment in the Iron Outlaws MC series, there's definitely a lot to captivate you!  From the grittiness of the MC world, to the twists and turns that leave you guessing, to the secrets and lies perpetuated by those inhabiting this world, readers will be enthralled and entertained!  Along with this non-stop action and suspense there's an emotionally engaging and heartfelt romance that finally gets a chance to flourish after fate once stepped in to keep HEA at bay.

Gwen and her twin brother Uther were Iron Outlaws MC royalty while growing up with their father as President, and with their best friend Landon's father as VP.  It made them a tight knit trio growing up with a romantic connection just starting to smolder between Gwen and Landon, a friendship starting to feel like something more.  It's a connection that ended before it started though as Gwen's mother entered them into the Witness Protection Program, leaving Uther...and Landon...behind to wonder why and what could have been.  It's a heartbreaking moment that had me aching for each of them and curious to see how they'd move on from this betrayal beyond their control.

Fifteen years pass before they're back in each other's lives and it's courtesy of dramatic events that leave readers with lots of questions and clamoring for answers.  Uther "King" is now President of the Club with Landon "Clutch" his VP, hardened throughout the years into gritty and badass bikers from the caring and charming boys they once were.  That's what Gwen finds upon her return, a return where she's been left wounded after an attempt is made on her life, and after her mother was killed too.  With danger surrounding her she's on the run and can think of only one place where she'll be safe. Staying safe isn't necessarily guaranteed as there's a lot of anger surrounding her return, anger from those within the Club along with those outside the Club.  Until she can prove herself, until the truth from long ago and the secrets that have been simmering are revealed, Gwen won't be truly safe.  With Clutch acting as her bodyguard/jailer, Gwen's heart will also be in danger as the connection between them quickly catches fire in a burgeoning romance that finally gets the chance to grow. Childhood crushes take an adult turn in their sizzling second chance at romance and I was all in for it!  When these two were first reunited there was a lot of mistrust and feelings of betrayal, but a clear yearning for one another was also on display that had me rooting for them.  Not only did these two have to deal with painful feelings from the past, secrets and lies about what happened long ago, but there's issues surrounding the here and now as Gwen has to reconcile her feelings for Clutch and his love for the Club. All of this makes their romance not only super sizzling but also heartwarming as they both show how far they'll go for the other.

This is one heckuva series starter!  With its larger than life characters, exhilarating action, and emotionally engaging backstory I was on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last.  Gwen's a likable heroine, one who's tougher than she thinks she is, and she ended up a good match for Clutch.  Clutch is a delicious hero too, a sexy dirty talker with a protective side that's made just for Gwen.  To the world, and to his Club, he's a badass biker unafraid of anything, but with Gwen we see a softer side that endeared him to me.  Within the genre the world of the Iron Outlaws MC is a gritty one with a Club that isn't always law abiding.  The members talk raw and engage in gritty deeds, they're not afraid to get their hands dirty, and I was utterly captivated by this world and the characters inhabiting it.  On a whole this is an unforgettable start to a series that I'm breathlessly awaiting more from and I'm already counting down the days until the next installment is released!

My rating for this is an A.

AUTHOR INFO:

The tattoo across my right hip says it all really. A Life Less Ordinary. Inked by the amazingly talented Luke Wessman at the Wooster Street Social Club (a.k.a. New York Ink). Why is it important? Well, it sums up my view on life. That we should all aspire to live a life that is less boring, less predictable. Be bold, and do something amazing. I’ve made some crazy choices. I’ve been a car maker, a consultant, and even a senior executive at a large retailer running strategy. Born in England, spent time in the U.S. and Japan, before ending up in Canada where I met my own, personal hero – all six and a half feet of him. Both of us are scorpios! Yeah, I know! Should have checked the astrological signs earlier, but somehow it works for us. We have two amazing kids, who I either could never part with or could easily be convinced to sell on e-bay.
I’ve wanted to be a writer for a really long time. Check through my office cupboards or my computer and you’ll find half written stories and character descriptions everywhere. Now I'm getting the chance to follow that dream.
