But when my son is concerned, I can get as wild as they come.
After all, my son is my life.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

D. M. Earl has once again crafted an unforgettable, rip-roaring ride of action and suspense, with a bit of romance tying everything together.  With a timely overall storyline of a white supremacist group with ties to prominent politicians, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat as all the MCs work together to bring this group's actions to an end while keeping Taz's disabled son safe.

Taz is an amazing heroine, a sassy and smart woman who's a magician with a computer keyboard.  She's also one tough mama when it comes to her autistic son, Teddy, after he's targeted by a hate group.  To keep him safe it's all hands on deck as Taz calls on the Devil’s Handmaiden MC, Travis, as well as other MCs affected by these dangerous people.  Through it all Taz remains focused on her son and he's a delightful addition to the story who I found easy to relate to as I have an autistic brother myself.  The author depicted Teddy realistically and the nastiness espoused by the hate group regarding him truly enraged me and had you rooting for them to get their comeuppance.  Along with dodging bullets and caring for her son, Taz also found time to build on her burgeoning romance with Travis.  Their romance has built slowly throughout the previous books but here it's definitely put through the wringer, weighed down by secrets, lies, and misunderstandings.  They work through things though, supporting one another while navigating the bumpy road they've been given in scenes that are sensual and heartfelt.  When it comes to heroes Travis is a very likable one, a drool-worthy man who's strong yet silent.  He trusts Taz and never overshadows her, letting her be the strong-willed woman she's always been...which adds to his sexiness.

Danger is always present throughout this story and it kept me frantically turning the pages from the very beginning.  With its realistic storyline of a white supremacist hate group, vividly depicted with all its inherently nasty views, you're immediately pulled into the storyline and consumed by the action.  Fueled by a large cast of characters, readers might feel a bit overwhelmed at times but the author kept the car on the road in a tale that ultimately culminated with a nice bow...for now.  The cast was colorful, full of strong women and supportive men, and it warmed my heart to see this unconventional family come together to support one of their own.  The ending might've been a bit quickly wrapped up, a thread or two left hanging, but I was still left wanting more and I'm now impatiently waiting for the next book in this series.

My rating for this is an A-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
