Review of Haste Ye Back by Wendy Burke (w/ a GIVEAWAY)

All her life something had drawn Bryn Wallace to Scotland. Just weeks before her lifelong dream trip to visit Edinburgh is fulfilled, Bryn’s fiancĂ© dumps her. She’s determined to have a good time, but touring the romantic Highlands is a bit boring alone. And not wanting to troll the pubs, she goes out on a limb and signs up with Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand service.

Divorced Ian McCallum is tired of making decisions, especially when it comes to women. When an old schoolmate suggests 1Night Stand, he figures he has nothing to lose. But, what he doesn’t know is his one-night stand was centuries in the making.

The 1Night Stand series from Decadent Publishing is like a delectable morsel of chocolate...they're quick, richly naughty, and immensely satisfying.  Wendy Burke's latest contribution Haste Ye Back lives up to that description and is perfect for giving you sweet dreams.  From the moment feisty, recently dumped, heroine Bryn arrives in her beloved Scotland there's a dreamlike feel to the world she's entered.  Ms. Burke brings the landscape of Scotland alive with all the beauty and romance surrounding its history.  The landscape and the people all work together to make things magical for the hero and heroine.

Along with the gorgeous and inspirational landscape is a truly likable hero and heroine.  Bryn is spunky and stands up for herself against a truly crappy boyfriend.  She goes after what she wants even when it sounds impossible, like a relationship with Ian after such a quick meeting.  He too has been burned by love and doesn't believe in true romance.  But once he touches Bryn there's a spark of recognition, of being kindred spirits.  The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts which leads to many intense sexual interludes.

With this being a short story you have to suspend belief a bit and accept that true love can be found in the blink of an eye.  There's also a slight paranormal aspect regarding past lives that's intriguing and makes the idea of Bryn and Ian's instalove a bit more understandable.  All in all this was a satisfying read with a likable couple and vivid scenic descriptions that immerse you completely in the magical and romantic world of Scotland.  Ms. Burke has created another satisfying 1Night Stand story that readers will gobble up.

My rating for this is a B.
