MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
As a fan of MC-themed books I applaud each discovery of a new-to-me author in the genre. Though I didn't read the previous book in this series, I still found much to like about this tale and quickly got into the action despite missing out on the groundwork laid before. With each turn of the page I was pulled further into the action...action both in and out of the bedroom...as steaminess and suspense combined to make this an edge of your seat ride.
With a unique heroine whose backstory is a heartbreaking yet mysterious one, readers will be drawn to Nix and the realistic way she deals with her disability. She navigates this dark and gritty world with attitude and I appreciated seeing a heroine more representative of me. The man sent to find her lives up to all the usual MC stereotypes, but he and Nix still set the pages on fire in a story that made me blush a time or two while keeping me guessing until the end.
On a whole this was an entertaining story that brought something new to the genre while giving readers what they've come to expect from the MC world. This may have been my first book by Ms. Cantrell, but it certainly won't be the last!

Roux Cantrell resides in Hammond LA, a cozy college town with her husband. Juggling a full time job as a stylist, a growing family, Roux manages to throw some pretty outlandish Halloween parties where the attendees must adorn a costume to gain entrance and she even manages one motorcycle trip on her Harley once a year.
Her love of books started when she was very young and has never wavered. Years past she didn't have the time to write with a growing family, now with the kids grown and out of the house she writes her own adventures.
