Review for Platinum Passion by Jennifer Lynne

Three people. One erotic fantasy. And a twentieth wedding anniversary like no other.

Jeannie longs for the return of passion in her marriage. Jake craves new excitement in the form of another man. Pothos is one of the erotes and an aspect of Eros, the ancient Greek god of love, and this couple's distinctive yearning has called to him. By the power of the erotes he intends to rekindle the flame of Jake and Jeannie's passion in a night of desire that will be the ultimate platinum anniversary gift.

And when the gods of love decide your marriage needs a boost, they never do it by halves.

Platinum Passion is the first in this series of novella-length stories about the erotes: Pothos - god of sexual yearning, Himeros - god of sexual desire, and Anteros - god of unrequited/requited love.

The erotes are aspects of the primal god, Eros, and the children of Aphrodite.

Her influence will be evident throughout the Gods of Love series. But the celebration of the ancient Greek gods of love begins in Platinum Passion with the gorgeous Pothos, god of sexual yearning.

Those looking for a short and sexy read to jumpstart your day have found just the prescription with Platinum Passion by Jennifer Lynne.  From the very start the reader is drawn into a magical dream-like world where all your fantasies are met and before you know it you've reached the end of the journey with a satisfied exhalation.

As the first book in the Gods of Love series the reader is given a gentle introduction to the world of the erotes, Greek gods of love whose purpose is to bring romance to lovers who have lost their way.  This book features Pothos who's super sexy and the consummate lover.  I have to admit I fell a little in love with him myself.  He's a bit old-fashioned with his speech which was endearing but very knowledgable in the ways of love.  He's just what harried couple Jeannie and Jake need on the night of their twentieth wedding anniversary when the chaos of life has led them to lose sight of their love for each other.  This couple is reminiscent of many where you get busy living life and don't take the time needed to rejuvenize your relationship, things get taken for granted.  This made them easy to relate to and I found myself smiling when they rededicated themselves to their relationship.

The sexual interludes in this story were intense and nicely spaced throughout the novella.  There was a sense of playfulness amongst all the steaminess that added a nice layer to the threesome.  The mythos of the erotes was just touched on in this story and I hope to learn more about them as the series continues.  It's a clever premise and as gods of love you know you'll be rewarded with satisfying sexual interludes.

With two (or hopefully) more gods yet to make an appearance I'll be waiting in breathless anticipation to revisit this sexy and magical world.  Jennifer Lynne has created a series that makes me want to make a wish myself...write faster.  With an intriguing premise and sexiness oozing from every page this is a read that will have you wanting to make a wish too.

My rating for this is a B.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

  2. Nice review, joder. I like the novella length...A quick read to finish up in an evening. Like the couple in the book, it can be a challenge after 20+ years of marriage to keep the spark alive.

    1. Hi Catherine, thanks for your comments! I find novellas a good length for reading in the evening too. And I know first hand how difficult it can be to maintain the spark in a long term relationship. It takes a bit more work than during the first flush of love, doesn't it? But the extra effort is worth it :)
