Book Tour for Can’t Text This by Teagan Hunter (REVIEW)

An unexpected connection in a bar leads to more for two opposites looking for more.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Can’t Text This by Teagan Hunter, along with my impressions of this fun and flirty book, then add this to your bookshelf too!

Hi Monty. Wanna see my python?”
That’s how I ended up in the bathroom of some dive bar with a stranger.
Me, Monty Andrews, the quintessential virgin girl next door.
I was so out of my element, but there was no denying our explosive attraction, even via text.
Commence Operation Bang Each Other Out of Our Systems, because that was all it was—unfinished business.
I had no intention of falling back into the sheets with the tattooed, muscly, dirty-in-the-best-kind-of-way single dad over and over again…but I did.
Everything was going great—until we discovered I was his son’s teacher.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Though there’s much that’s familiar about this story there’s still something about it that completely won me over.  From the crackling main couple, to the unrelenting sexual tension, readers will find themselves glued to the pages and the fun and flirty connection between two very different people.  In a connection that slowly builds in sensuality readers will enjoy the journey of two people who learn about each other through words instead of deeds, along with getting a few laughs along the way that put a smile on my face.

Robbie Cross was introduced in a previous book from this author and it was a memorable first appearance.  As a former carefree young man, he’s now a hard working single dad who’s so much more than he seems.  Through endless text messages with a prim woman he met in a bar, readers get to learn even more about the snarky and charming man and it’s not long before he completely won me over.  Robbie’s exactly who he shows to the world, a man who’s focused on what he wants, and it’s clear he wants the straitlaced Monty.  Though they’re very much opposites, whenever they’re together there’s a sense of naughtiness and satisfaction vibrating between them.  They may say that their time together is short, but it’s clear that they’re a decadently delightful couple whose interactions jumped off the pages and that no matter what they’re meant for HEA.

Monty Andrews grew up the dutiful daughter.  In a family that eschewed technology, and valued obedience to all, Monty grew up sheltered and uncertain of herself.  With her sister Denny leading the way though, Monty’s now ready to start experiencing life on her own.  When one night’s impulsiveness introduces her to a man that encourages her to experience all things it ends up being an unforgettable pairing.  In a journey full of feelings and self-awareness, via endless text messages, Monty slowly emerges from the shell she always kept herself in.  She might not be as carefree and bold as her sister but I still enjoyed her journey as Robbie brought out a naughty side to her that was charming.  Though she veered towards the wild side a time or two she never lost the core of who she was.  Monty was ultimately a sweet heroine with a kind heart, someone who bloomed throughout this story but who never rushed things.  She was methodical but when she gave into her desires, she gave in wholeheartedly in a sweet and sexy tale.

At it’s most simplistic this is a romance of opposites attracting.  With his tats and sexy banter Robbie shows himself to be so much more as he calls to Monty’s desire to be more too.  Through texts and random encounters readers were invited along to experience friends becoming lovers and through each exchange we become more invested in their journey.  It’s a sweet and sexy journey that charms while crafting blush-worthy moments that flow beautifully and kept me wrapped in a happy embrace.  Though there’s a bit of silly concerns with Monty discovering that she’s the teacher of Robbie’s son, it was still not enough to ruin my happiness as this appealing main couple found their HEA.  Along with this likable main couple was an equally likable cast of secondary characters, some who are new (like Denny - whose brashness and protectiveness were endearing) to Robbie’s best friend Zach who was the geeky and sexy hero from this author’s previous book.  These characters are well-crafted and larger-than-life and brought bits of humor to an already delightful story.  Add in Robbie’s son Xavie and you have even more charming interactions that had me falling even more in love with Robbie.  Readers looking for a slow and steady romance full of sexual tension will get all that and more courtesy of this modern tale of opposites attracting.

My rating for this is an A-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
