Book Tour for The Shadowed Moon by Elli Morgan (Guest Post & GIVEAWAY)……..

Enemies become so much more in this edge of your seat paranormal romance that will have you frantically turning the pages to see what happens next.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Shadowed Moon by Elli Morgan, then learn even more about it through the author's guest post, and by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this fast-paced standalone story make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $15 bookstore GC too!

MS MORGAN SHARES WITH READERS WHAT HER FAVORITE PARANORMAL/SUPERNATURAL SHOWS ARE AND HOW THEY INFLUENCED THE CREATION OF THIS BOOK:
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been obsessed with vampires. So, most of my favorite TV shows feature vampires in some way. The most obvious ones are Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Buffy. But I also enjoy many other paranormal/supernatural shows where vampires play no role (or just a minor role), for example, Supernatural, Lucifer, and Charmed.
My first answer to the question of how these shows influenced The Shadowed Moon would be “They didn’t.”
But then I remembered one of my best friends reading the book as a beta reader. In the last third of the book, I introduce a new character, Markus, a tall, black-haired vampire prince. After reading that chapter, my friend told me he reminded her of Elijah from The Originals. When I reread his scenes, I realized she was right. I feel like Elijah’s vibe fits him pretty well, though. So, I’m happy I subconsciously based his character on Elijah.
I also hint at one of my main characters, Sarah, watching TV in one scene. Sarah is a young vampire who got kidnapped as a child by vampires. They tortured her and trained her to become their soldier before turning her on her eighteenth birthday. So, she never got to watch TV growing up. When she finally gets the chance to explore this medium, the human take on her kind confounds her. After her horrible past, she couldn’t believe vampires would go to high school and fall in love with one of the other students. But that’s pretty much what happens in Vampire Diaries.

After they took everything from him, Dave Patton dedicated his life to hunting vampires. But he can’t bring himself to destroy their newest vampire prisoner Sarah—a young woman with a tragic past, who awakens forbidden desires in him.
Sarah McAllister spent her childhood in the hands of ruthless vampires aiming to turn her into a perfect soldier. To take revenge, she hides her true strength and surrenders to a group of hunters, hoping her knowledge will help them bring all monsters to justice.
When the hunters’ compound is attacked, Sarah has to reveal her powers to protect them from certain death. How will Dave react when he learns the truth? And how much will she have to sacrifice to defeat her tormentors?

EXCERPT:

“Okay then.” She swallowed and backed away. “Come at me and try to land a hit.”
He drew his sword. “Just one?”
“One will be hard enough, trust me.” She disappeared, only to reappear on the opposite side of the hall with a grin. “I’ll give you ten minutes before I go on the offensive.”
“All right.” He stormed at her.
Every time he approached, she glided out of reach. Whenever he thought he’d cornered her, she vanished. How did she move so incredibly fast? After a while, he bent over, panting.
“If you can’t get close, you’ll never touch me.”
“Well, you’re just running away. Looks like you’re afraid to face me,” he taunted her.
She laughed. “I’m not, and I’ll happily prove it to you in—” She glanced at the clock on the gym wall. “—three...two...one...now. Your time is up.”
He swallowed and tightened the grip on his sword. “Well then, turn your words into actions because I’m not running either.”
“As you wish.” She flew at him. With the force of her speed, she pushed him back against the wall. Faster than he could react, she seized his arms with hers and pressed her delicate body against his to keep him from fighting back.
Her soft breasts rubbed against his chest as he struggled against her, and the scent of chocolate and coconut assaulted his senses. She tempted him in more ways than one, and his hands ached to break free and explore her body. A flush of warmth spread through him as he imagined turning their training session into a make-out one. Since this was neither the time nor the place for such thoughts, he shook his head to clear it.
When his jeans tightened, he knew he’d lost the battle—against his arousal.

Book Release Blitz for The Immortal Tailor by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff (GIVEAWAY)…..

Readers will find themselves captivated by the first half of this compelling new paranormal duet that's fast-paced as it bounces you between humor and suspense, between leaving your past behind while being sucked back into it, all while fueling a romance that kept me glued to the pages.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Immortal Tailor by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, then add this contemporary romance to your bookshelf!  In honor of this first installment in The Immortal Tailor duet make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $20 Amazon GC too!

From New York Times bestselling author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a new immortal series filled with dark humor, angst, and a brooding hero who loves a good tweed: The Immortal Tailor.
THE IMMORTAL WORLD IS IN TROUBLE, AND THE GODS DEMAND...THEIR TAILOR COME TO THE RESCUE?
Long ago, Damien Greystone hung up his guns, knives, and rope for the quiet life of a tailor. Sure, his clients now include the likes of bloodthirsty vampires, a hair-obsessed Bigfoot, and fourteen insane deities, but at least Damien doesn’t have to kill anymore. And, sure, he’s been cursed to live alone for all eternity, but nobody’s life is perfect. Right?
Unfortunately, his monk-like existence is about to come to a screeching halt. The gods’ powers are on the fritz, and they’re demanding his help.
But when Damien starts investigating, he meets Sky Morales, a beautiful journalist who’s up to her ears in danger (and one very aggressive fairy). He has no choice but to dust off his weapons.
Can he protect her without getting too close? Because his “curse of solitude” doesn’t negotiate, and bad things will happen to Sky if he so much as feels a flutter of affection.
And as if that pressure weren’t enough, his precious store is being looked after by a love-sucking demon and a punk chick who has a knack for insulting everyone. Bigfoot isn’t pleased.
The sooner Damien can get this job done, the faster he can get back to his peaceful life. If only he weren’t enjoying getting his hands dirty again. Just like the good old days that got him in trouble.

EXCERPT:

“I don’t want to talk about it.” The fairy turned away and looked out the window.
He cocked a brow. “Did something frighten you? You mentioned before in the bathroom that
you did not want to be taken back.”
She clamped her little red lips shut and crossed her sparkly pale arms, refusing to look at him.
“If you tell me what is going on, perhaps I can help.” A lie. He did not care what happened to her. He cared for no one. It was for their own good, of course.
She sighed with an odd little peep at the end and looked at him. “I was in her purse when I thought I heard him.”
Damien frowned. “Him who?”
“One of the Brown brothers.”
The Brown brothers were the men who owned the exotic salsa company in San Diego. “One of the brothers was there at the mall that day?”
“Yes. No. Maybe? Oh! You have nice lips. Very pouty. Can I play in your mouth?”
“No.”
“How about a taint massage?” She wiggled her little finger at him in a scratching motion. Gods help me. Sex fairies were known to be easily distracted and wildly horny, but this one seemed a bit much. He needed to get the info and send her on her way. “You are not getting anywhere near my taint. Now tell me why you attacked—”
“I meant my taint.”

Book Blurb Blitz for The Guardian by Jen Colly (GIVEAWAY)…….

A romance that wasn't meant to be soon brews between two unlikely individuals just as danger threatens to tear them apart.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of The Guardian by Jen Colly, then learn even more about this book by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this fifth installment in The Cities Below series make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $30 bookstore GC too!

Prepared to die...fighting to live.
Savard was in a mood to die, but when a human insists on saving his life, death is no longer an immediate option. He knew of no species – human, vampire, or demon – that could see him while in his invisible Spirit form. Unique to this world, this woman's singularity was a danger to the entire vampire race.
Waking behind bars in an underground vampire city was not how Sera envisioned her night drive ending. She has come to expect nothing from those who pass through her life, but this man, dying on the side of the road, proves to be different. Savard fights to free her from tyrannical vampire laws and to hide her unique abilities. What Sera doesn't understand is why he would fight his growing love for her.
Savard's haunted past threatens to tear them apart. Soon, Sera discovers just how far her guardian is willing to go, and what he's willing to do, to keep her safe.

EXCERPT:

Savard watched her delicate jaw drop at the sight of his fangs. Never in his long life had he shown a human what kind of creature lurked behind the visage of a man. He waited for her scream, expected her terrified flight or even a fainting spell. Instead of acting like a normal human, she just sat there, taking it all in, processing, and then out of the blue, the minx slugged him in the shoulder.
He groaned, not so much from her punch, but from stabilizing his core muscles to keep his body upright. Through gritted teeth, Savard asked, “What the hell was that for?”

“Give it a guess,” she huffed, not frightened, and certainly not shying away. “You can speak. Just say what you are. You didn’t need to threaten me with the pointy teeth.”
“Wasn’t a threat...won’t bite,” he mumbled. He knew he was behaving poorly, but his body ached, his hunger beat a heavy cadence against his tongue, and this woman had ruined his plans for a quick death.
His eyelids drifted shut, his head tilted back against the cushion. He was getting worse. The pain was there, but not exactly excruciating, making it easier to speak. His body was numbing out, going cold on the inside. Sensation was slipping away, along with life.
“If you’re what I think you are, then...” her soft voice trailed off, as if redirecting her question. “What can I do? Be honest.”
“Nothing you’d be willing to do,” Savard said, cracking one eye open to observe her reaction, and when she shifted closer, he suddenly realized she still held his hand. In fact, her grip had never wavered. Even after he’d bared his fangs.
“Like letting you bite me? How can you be sure I wouldn’t?” “I’m not asking.”
“But if it would help you...” Her delicate eyebrows scrunched together, and she asked in earnest, “Would it help you? And would it hurt?”
His lips twitched, the beginnings of a smile that never fully formed. For some reason, he found explaining the nuances of a vampire’s bite to this innocent human amusing. “Blood heals. A bite is more pleasure than pain.”
“I wouldn’t turn into a...” “No.”
“When you bite someone...” Her voice was hesitant, the first subtle hint of trepidation he’d found in her. “Do they die?”
“No. Life is precious,” he said quietly.
Deafening silence surrounded him and he closed his eyes again, the calm lulling him. Several minutes passed, or perhaps more, and then he unexpectedly caught her scent. The soft, delicate flesh of this woman had a scent all its own, and he opened his eyes to see her leaning close to him, her hand pulling that fluffy white-blonde mass of randomly braided hair away from her neck. Savard growled, closing his eyes against the temptation, and turned away from her.
“Why not?” she asked, her steady voice sending shivers through his battered body. Teeth clenched, he said, “You should have left me there.”

Book Cover Reveal for Veils and Vampires by Cee Bee (GIVEAWAY)……

Readers will immediately be sucked into this steamy story of a young woman drooling after a forbidden man and set amidst the dangers of the mafia world...and the paranormal one.  Keep reading to get a tempting glimpse of Veils and Vampires by Cee Bee, while starting to count down the days until this book hits shelves on November 19th, then learn even more about this book by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this second installment in the Vampires of the Daemonverse series make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win an art nouveau journal too!

I’m checking out the Bold Tsarina nightclub, even if it is owned by Konstantin, the Bratva crime lord who hates my guts. After all, the trip could snag me a high-paying gig for another mafia king, the infamous Caelin Vass.
Yes, that Caelin Vass.
I’m talking about the hot-as-sin social media sensation who’s rumored to be both a horrible boss and a blood-sucking vampire. And did I mention that Caelin’s also the star of my hottest NSFW fantasies? He is. Plus, that isn’t even the strangest part of my life right now...or the best.
Read my story and have some fun. You know you want to.

EXCERPT:

Far up the street, a police car switches on its flashers. This is getting good.
The driver's side door whips open and out steps Celin MacGregor, my would-be boss. The man does not look happy. He glares right at me.
“What're ye doin', lass?”
Huh. Vass' accent gets heavier when he's angry. Nice to know.
“Talking with some girls from high school.” I gesture to Devon and Shay as evidence.
Only the two of them are gone.
I frown. “Or, I was chatting them up.”
Caelin stalks closer. On reflex, I step backward. Soon my spine hits the glass facade of the building. It's not like sidewalks in Manhattan are super huge.
Caelin sets his hands on either side of my head, caging me against the wall. My blood heats. If I thought there was some kind of energy between us back in his office, it's nothing compared to what zings between us now. The connection becomes a charge of desire that prickles across my body. I might even be panting a little.
“I'll ask ye again,” says Vass, his voice low. “Ye know the likes of them?”
“It's like I told you--I went to high school with those girls. And you're standing awfully close.”
The whoop of a police siren slices through the air. A man's voice reverberates through a loudspeaker. “Move your vehicle.”
I go up on tiptoe and peer over Vass' very broad shoulders. Sure enough, three police cars are lined up behind his badly-parked Porsche. One officer stalks closer. The guy wears sunglasses even though it's after ten o'clock. You have to admire that kind of swagger.
Caelin glances over his shoulder and shoots the officer an angry look. The man freezes in place.
I raise my hand to shoulder height. “I'm over here, in case you're wondering. Maybe you can ask Caelin to back off from both the sidewalk and my face.”
The officer pales. “I'm so sorry, your Majesty.” Without saying another word, he gets back into his vehicle and drives away. The other police cars follow.
Leaving me alone with one very angry Scotsman.

Lexa Kozlov must pay off her family's massive debt to the mob...all while raising even more money to save her little sister. The result? A never-ending (and incredibly illegal) stakeout for the Bratva. Lexa barely has time to sleep, let alone find love.
Enter Caelin Vass, the handsome Scotsman who runs Empire Investments. Caelin offers Lexa a new job with dollars galore, as well as a hot bod (his own) to contemplate every workday. Even so, Lexa isn’t sure. Freaky things keep happening whenever Lexa and Caelin are alone. The energy between them is magical, sensual, and way overwhelming.
Is Lexa leaving her old prison just to enter a worse one...or is Caelin Vass all he seems and more?
***12,000 word novella, previously published on Kindle Vella as Blood Slave***

EXCERPT:

I've never wanted anyone more than Caelin Vass. Never hated a man so much, either.
Vass looms before me right now. He's all broad-shoulders, brown hair, and searing dark eyes. Imagine a Celtic god in a three-piece suit; that's the general idea. We stand in his office—a place that's all plush leather chairs and heavy wooden furniture.
Sadly, Vass and I aren't alone. Some chick in a kimono kneels before him. She toys with his belt buckle with ill intent. And by ill intent, I mean she's about to give my potential employer a blow job.
In his fancypants office. Right in front of me.
Wish I could say this is the first time something like this happened. It isn't. I also wish I didn't want to punch Kimono Chick in the throat and take her place.
Yet I do.
Still, I must stay away from Vass' pants and get this gig. Why? It pays one hundred grand a month. For someone like me, that money's literally a life-saver.
Across the room, Kimono Chick smirks so hard, it's a wonder her face doesn't get stuck that way. "Join in or get out."
Meanwhile, Vass stares at me with a smoking hot look that makes my thighs clench. He knows the affect all this has on me.
Stupid Vass.
Stupid thighs.
Which leads to a big decision: do I go for the job, the belt buckle, or the door?
Tough call.

He wants her to serve him in the bedroom and be his partner everywhere.
She’s been hurt, and he’s a born protector. Can they make the attraction last and turn it into something eternal or will the fear win out?
Reader advisory: This book contains scenes of violence, fighting and death, as well as references to forced sex and feeding from humans.

EXCERPT:

“You’re an odd vampire. Most every other one I’ve known wants me for dinner. Either you don’t because you’re weird or you’re lulling me into liking you so I’ll give in. If you are, you don’t have to make me like you. I’ll give in. I know the rules because you bought me. Remember?”
“Why don’t you shower and maybe get some sleep? I won’t kill or drain you.” He wanted her to trust him, but he didn’t want compliancy. Not yet and not outside of the bedroom. He liked her fire and the spunk he’d seen at the club.
“I don’t have much of a choice,” she said. “May I have this?”
“The wine? Of course.” He poured himself a glass of merlot. “Let’s drink to your freedom and new home.”
She stared at him, and he couldn’t read her expression. Wary? Confused? He wasn’t sure.

Casey sipped his wine. “Feel free to use whatever’s in the bathroom. I have no secrets from you.” Not many.
Her eyes widened again, and her lips parted. “You scare me.” She drank the wine in one gulp, then coughed.
Good merlot should be sipped—not gulped. But he hadn’t gone two days without food. “Why do I scare you?”
She shrugged out of his coat. “Because I can’t tell what you’re thinking or what you want from me.”
“Oh?” His previous girl had said he’d telegraphed every move.
“I don’t know what you want and I can’t figure out if you’re telling me the truth.” She left the stool. “I’d like that shower, though, please?”
He kept getting her right to the edge of opening up when she shut down again. Soon, he’d know her secrets, and she’d know his. He led her to the set of rooms along the back of the house. “In here. I’ve got towels, soap and anything you need in the drawers.”
“Even a flat iron?”
She’d volleyed a challenge. Nice. He liked her spirit. “If you want.” He turned the water on in the open stall. “I’ll leave you to your shower.”
“You can watch. I haven’t showered in ages.” She removed her filthy dress. “I used to have guards so I wouldn’t run away. I don’t know what it’s like to have privacy.”
Lomax used guards? Interesting. Casey spied the lines on her back. Lashings? “Were you whipped?”
She shuddered and didn’t turn around “I was told I deserved it.”

He touched the silvery scars. He remembered when he’d seen her at the club, she’d gotten off on being flogged, but not to the point of bloodletting. What she’d been through was abuse. She flinched when he touched her again.
“I’m sorry.” He pressed a kiss to her shoulder. “I’ll never do anything like this to you ever.” She tensed, but didn’t pull away. “Uh-huh.”
Soon, she’d give him her trust, and he’d prove not all vampires were evil. He wasn’t a nice man—more a son of a bitch—but not with her. She could be his salvation, and he refused to screw that up.

Book Tour for Pure Healing by Aja James (Review & GIVEAWAY)

Fans of paranormal romances will find themselves drawn to this multi-layered, erotically-charged tale set in the vampiric world.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Pure Healing by Aja James, along with my impressions of it, then learn even more about this book by visiting the other sites hosting this tour.  In honor of this first installment in the Pure/Dark Ones series make sure to fill out the form below for the chance to win a $10 bookstore GC too!

Enter the world of Pure Ones, a race of immortal, supernaturally powerful beings who protect humankind, where sexual intercourse with anyone other than one’s Eternal Mate leads to a slow, painful death within thirty days.
The Healer of the race, Rain, is the only exception to this rule. To harness and accumulate enough energy to heal severe wounds, especially as the war between her people and the vampire hordes accelerates, she must take a Consort once every ten years and draw strength from his blood and body. But as the war wears on, few Pure-males who are strong enough to serve as her Consort remain. Valerius, Protector of the race, is the strongest candidate.
Despite their instant attraction ten years ago when they first met, Valerius has staunchly avoided applying to be the Healer’s Consort. The brutality and violence he suffered as a Roman sex slave in his human life ate away at his soul, leaving a dark abyss of torment and self-doubt.
Now, as Rain’s strength drains with every healing act, Valerius cannot escape the fact that he may be the only one who can save her, and in so doing, afford his people greater hope for the future as battles intensify.
Will Rain and Valerius find their way to each other as the struggles between good and evil evolve?

EXCERPT:

Rain bid farewell for the day to the third qualified Pure-male and watched him slowly and painstakingly make his way beyond the threshold of the Rite Enclosure.
She closed her eyes and released a pent up breath.  It had been a long second day in the three-day Rite of the Phoenix, a day she looked forward to only slightly less than the third and final day.  Today, she had pushed the males almost beyond their endurance.  She was surprised they hadn’t decided to withdraw their application.
The Phoenix Cycle would be much worse.
As she prepared to leave the chamber, Wan’er came forth with a nonplussed expression.
“My lady,” her handmaiden said haltingly, “it appears you have one final applicant.”
“What?” Rain responded reflexively.  She heard her handmaiden perfectly well, but the words didn’t make a lick of sense.
Wan’er shifted a bit nervously, as if indecisive about how to break some bad news.  “Your final applicant is waiting in the antechamber.”
She bit her lower lip and blurted, “It is my lord Valerius.”
Rain’s eyebrows shot up in shock.  Surely she had not heard correctly.
“Shall I show him in and prepare him for the test?” Wan’er asked tentatively, uncertain of her lady’s mood.
Without answering her handmaiden, Rain marched angrily to the antechamber and threw apart the double doors.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?” she demanded of the warrior leaning against the back wall.  She braced herself against the welcome sight of him in full health.  She’d been on tender hooks all the previous day, wondering whether she’d been able to heal him completely, whether she should have checked on him.  She could barely concentrate on the first day’s tests, she’d been so distracted.  But now that he appeared fully recovered, her anger overrode all concern.
He straightened from the wall and stood tall and alert before her.  “Applying to Serve you, Healer.”

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Into the crowded paranormal genre comes this intricately woven series starter full of suspense, intense emotions, heartbreaking choices, and romances that pull at your heartstrings.  It’s a tale full of interconnected storylines that sometimes overwhelmed but always entertained in a book that left me satisfied and ready for more.

Love in the world of the Pure Ones is complicated as they’re sworn to remain celibate until finding their true mate with death the result for giving into temptation with the wrong person.  The one individual who doesn’t have to abide by the rules is Rain, the Healer of their people, as every ten years she must choose a Consort to replenish her powers.  For thirty days she joins with her Consort in numerous scorching encounters but never forms an emotional connection...until the day she meets the Protector, Valerius.  She longs for him like no other but his past has left him bruised and unable to connect with her as much as she longs for him to do.  As attraction causes chaos in their personal lives an outside force is waging war and leaving behind decimation as death heartbreakingly takes away characters we immediately came to care for while leaving other characters hanging in the balance.

This is a story with intricate worldbuilding, taking us into the past while immersing us in the here and now of these compelling characters in a society that’s existed for thousands of years.  The Pure Ones are an intriguing society whose powers were given to them upon death in order to give them their deepest desires and it gives deep insight into who they are.  They’re strong-willed and protective of each other as well as their Queen and it gives an unexpectedly heartwarming familial vibe to the story.  Many storylines are being juggled from the first page to the last, many characters introduced that sometimes becomes too much, but overall it’s a story that packs a powerful punch.  The romance between Rain and Valerius is a heartbreaking one, erotically-charged too in an unrequited love that put me through the wringer alongside them.  Valerius especially brought tears to my eyes for all the degradations he endured before his death and the bruises it’s left him with that are keeping him from his HEA. Rain’s caring and full of strength that belies her childlike stature and she’s just the person to heal him if they’re just willing to put their hearts on the line. Along with this epic and emotionally intense romance comes a battle just beginning to be waged.  It’s a battle full of manipulations being directed by a mysterious and truly disturbing villain. There’s a foreboding feeling permeating the story where not everyone is to be trusted, nor is everyone safe as casualties soon had me reaching for the tissues. Though some will compare this to Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, that would be a mistake as there’s much to set this apart from the other books in the genre.  It’s an unforgettable tale that kept me on the edge of my seat, with plenty of storylines just beginning, and counting down the days until the next installment hits bookshelves!

My rating for this is an A-

AUTHOR INFO:

Aja has been writing stories since the age of six, and novels since the age of thirteen. While she'd be the first to admit that those early efforts weren't particularly good, she sure loved putting them down on paper!
The best part of writing, according to Aja, is that it’s completely organic, the way the stories develop. When the inspiration hits, she writes just so she herself can learn where the characters are headed because oftentimes, they take her by surprise! It is her ultimate dream to share her stories with as many readers as she possibly can.
Her other loves include art, cooking, old movies (anything with Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Clark Gable, and all the song and dance numbers because she can’t watch them and not be happy!)

She adores taking long walks with her husband and running after her two rambunctious kids. She has traveled extensively (all seven continents except Antarctica) and has a multi-cultural upbringing. She speaks two and a half languages and binge watch TV shows when the mood strikes.

Aja has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Comparative Literature and Economics and two Master’s degrees, one of which is in East Asian Studies.
