It’s an exhilarating thrill ride as an epic love story comes to an end in this sexy and suspenseful tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seat.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Sinful Empire by Meghan March, along with my impressions of it, then add this third installment in the Mount Trilogy to your bookshelf!

What’s mine, I keep, and that includes Keira Kilgore.
It’s no longer enough to have her in my debt. No longer enough to own her body.
I want something more.
She can try to resist, but I’ll never give her up.
Nothing will keep us apart.
Not her. Not my enemies. No one.
Her debt will only be paid one way—with her heart.
Sinful Empire is the third and final book in the Mount Trilogy.

Everything comes to a head in this exhilarating thrill ride that’s a perfect blend of suspense and romance that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Picking up right after the cliffhanger ending of the previous book, danger and raw emotion abounds as Keira and Mount are forced into confronting his past if they have any hope of the future.  Lies and surprising enemies are also revealed in a story that kept me furiously turning the pages with anticipation as it raced to a very satisfying conclusion.

Recovering from wounds suffered during a rival’s attack on them, Keira quickly realizes just how much Mount means to her and just how far he’ll go to keep her safe.  It’s a surprising realization that gives her the chance to learn more about him in scenes that reveal Mount’s heartbreaking history as well as deepening the bond between them.  Through every threat thrown at her Keira manages to stray strong.  Both physically and mentally she gets put through the wringer and even during her most terrifying moment she still fights for her life.  Being with Mount has made her stronger, given her faith in her abilities, and it’s made her a formidable match for him.  Even when he dictates to her she gives as good as she gets and it makes for a sizzling connection between them.  There are only two times she really seems to break.  The first moment is when she discovers the manipulations of someone close to her.  The reveal was a definite surprise and I too felt betrayed by this character’s actions as I found their actions to come with good intentions but not wholly selfless.  The other moment that brought her to an emotional low was her fear over Mount’s safety.  It was a defining moment for the both of them and it solidified their HEA despite all the dangers that lay ahead.

This is the story fans of Mount have been waiting for as we finally get to learn his backstory.  We get to see where he came from, how high he rose through the ranks, and the things he had to do to get where he is.  It’s a heartbreaking story and shows how truly alone he’s been until meeting Keira.  Mount’s the quintessential anti-hero as he has lots of blood on his hands, taken many lives with no remorse, but in his own way he has honor.  He rights wrongs and has helped a few lost souls on his journey to becoming the quiet and controlled King he is today.  He wore his heart on his sleeve throughout this story, put his heart in Keira’s safekeeping as she decided if loving him was worth all the sacrifices. Mount was a truly complex character and Ms. March showed every fascinating facet of his personality with each book released.  He was cold and calculating early on but in this story he became a hero as he put his life and heart on the line in keeping Keira safe in this epic ending.

From start to finish this story kept my pulse pounding.  While there were a few sexy moments late in the story, it was all about the action this time around. Bullets flew, blood spilled, and danger came out of nowhere as a surprising villain was revealed.  Ms. March should be credited with the clever reveal as it changed how I interpreted so many things that came before and gave new insight into who Mount is.  Alongside this memorable couple fighting for their lives and for HEA were two characters I long to see more of in the future. Keira’s friend Magnolia made a reappearance in this story and it’s her actions that drive this story, putting her in danger as well, while leaving her future in doubt.  Bodyguard V continued to be the quiet and imposing figure we saw from the start, but this time around readers saw a softer side.  There were a few smiles and hints of attraction and I’d love to see where it all leads.  Through three books Ms. March has crafted an epic love story between a man used to getting everything he wants and a woman who makes him work harder than he’s ever had to.  It’s a sexy story full of danger and surprising heart and I highly recommend the Mount Trilogy to all readers looking for an unforgettable read!

My rating for this is an A.

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

New Orleans belongs to me.
You don’t know my name, but I control everything you see—and all the things you don’t.
My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met.
I didn’t need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt.
To have her in my debt.
She doesn’t know she caught my attention.
She should’ve been more careful.
I’m going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her.
It’s time to collect what I’m owed.
Keira Kilgore, you’re now the property of Lachlan Mount.

I’m his entertainment. His toy. Payment on a debt.
I tell myself I hate him, but every time he walks into the room, my body betrays me. How can I want him and fear him in the same moment?
They told me he’d mess with my head. Make it go to war with my body.
But I didn’t realize it would be complete anarchy.
I should’ve known better. When Mount’s involved, there are no rules.
I will not surrender. I will not show weakness. I’ll stand my ground and make it out of this bargain with my heart and soul intact.
But he has other plans...

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She's also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she's ever had. She loves hearing from her readers at
