When it comes to MC romances I can never get enough! Whenever I come across one I can't wait to read it! And when it comes to Ms. Rose's latest release I was again waiting with breathless anticipation to turn that first page. From that first page to its last I found myself on a delightful ride full of romance and suspense that made my heart race and my cheeks blush a time or two before reaching a very satisfying conclusion.
Rayleighn is a woman in hiding, a woman running from her past while trying to keep her little boy safe. It's led to a life where she keeps to herself, never trusting anyone while keeping her heart guarded. The moment Rider comes into her life though is the moment when her determination to remain alone is put to the test. Rayleighn's an immensely appealing heroine, a real mama bear when it comes to her son and a sweet and caring woman making it through each day on her own. When her past catches up to her though she'll need a hero...and that's where Rider comes in! One snowy night Rider sees the woman of his dreams and from that moment on will do all he can to win her over, body and soul. Rider's the quintessential book boyfriend...a delicious mix of tough yet loving, sweet yet sexy, a man determined to claim the woman he can't stop thinking about. Their initial meeting had me drooling over him as he never pushed himself on her, he just watched over her like a Guardian Angel. He's far from an angel though as a member of the Mystic Venom MC. Readers don't see much of that bad boyness early on as he shows himself to be a patient and caring man with not only Rayleighn, but also her son Colton. The romance between Rider and Rayleighn was a slow burn, scorching with endless sexual tension, while Rider's interactions with Colton were endearing and gave the little boy a worthy role model. They were the perfect little family in the making...until she comes face to face with the threat of her past. Theirs is a formidable pairing though and through every twist and turn they show themselves to be a fairytale couple in a story that pulled every one of my heartstrings.
From the very start readers will be charmed by this sweet, sexy, and suspenseful story. With a very likable main couple, and a delightful slow burn romance led by a drool-worthy hero, this was a satisfying and quick read. Though it's set in the MC world there's not a lot of the grittiness we normally see within that world, it's definitely sanitized and is more MC-light. While much about this book is familiar, Ms. Rose gives readers a well-crafted and romantic tale that will have them coming back for more!
