Book Tour for Haven 6 by Aubrie Dionne (Guest Post & GIVEAWAY)

Aubrie Dionne's New Dawn series has been a delightfully action-packed sci-fi collection of books with a tiny bit of romance thrown in to make the outcome even more emotional.  With her latest release, Haven 6, this wonderful series is coming to an end.  Today I bring to you a glimpse of this satisfyingly exciting read as well as a memorable giveaway.  First up is an interview with the character of Aquaria....

Aquaria, thank you for joining me!
Thank you for having me. I hope we won’t talk too much about the upcoming lifemate ceremony, will we? I’ve had so many people ask me so many questions, I’m so sick of talking about it.

Not at all! Just a few easy questions and maybe one or two about your pairing ceremony. Now, first one: Describe a day in yourlife on the Heritage.
Right now it’s very hectic, because I’m preparing for my pairing ceremony, so I’m trying to memorize all of the lines from the Guide. That book is so boring and none of it makes sense to me, but don’t tell anyone on the Heritage, or I’ll be labeled a rebel.

Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone. I’m sure a lot of people question the Guide. Now for the next question: What are your initial thoughts/fears about landing on Haven 6?
Everyone says it’s a safe planet, especially compared to some of the other ones the other colony ships are landing on. But, I am afraid there will be some danger we’re not aware of just yet. That’s why I don’t want anyone I know on that first exploratory team mission. That’s going to be the most dangerous.

What do think of Litus, your computer matched lifemate?
I don’t really know too much about him. I mean, he’s handsome. But, he’s so quiet. What’s he really thinking? I’m not sure.

Well, I’m sure you’ll get to know him. He’s going to be your lifemate after all. Tell us about your half sisterEridani Smith. You guys are pretty close, eh?
Oh, yes! I love Eri so much! I feel so bad for her because she wants a lifemate, and has been trying to get one for years, but the computers won’t let her have one because her parents were illegally matched. Stupid, if you ask me, but don’t tell Commander Grier I said that.

And what do you think of the Commander?
Personally, I think she’s a little crazy. Think about it: living for hundreds of years as a brain in a box. It would drive me insane. I only hope she retains some of her humanity because I know issues will come up once we’ve reached Haven 6 and things start to change. She won’t have the power she once had being the all-knowing entity on the ship. That’s got to have some repercussions.

I bet it does! We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Thanks again for joining me, Aquaria!  This has been a real treat!
Thank you for having me. Make sure to read Haven 6 to find out what happens when we reach our colony planet!

A product of an illegal pairing, Eridani is the only woman without a lifemate aboard the colonization ship, the Heritage, and she is determined her less than perfect DNA will not get in the way of finding love. As the ship nears it's final destination of Haven 6 after five hundred years of travel, images of the surface show evidence of intelligent life on a planet that's supposed to be uninhabited. Commander Grier assigns Eri to the exploratory team to spy on the alien society and return with information on how to defeat them.

When Eri's team lands, tribes of humans attack and Eri is saved by Striver, the descendant of a colonist and a pirate from Old Earth's colonization efforts in other parts of the galaxy. Striver helps Eri rescue her team and they are drawn to each other despite their different allegiances. While Striver battles with trusting Eri, Eri must decide whether to warn him and his people about the commander's intentions, or follow orders and complete her mission.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Aubrie grew up watching the original Star Wars movies over and over again until she could recite and reenact every single scene in her backyard. She also loved The GooniesStar Trek the Next Generation-favorite character was Data by far-, and Indiana Jones. But, her all time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.

Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "A concert flutist" when she grew up. When she made that happen, she decided one career was not enough and embarked as a fantasy, sci fi author. Two careers seem to keep her busy. For now.

Her writings have appeared in Mindflights, Niteblade, Silver Blade, Emerald Tales, Hazard Cat, Moon Drenched Fables, A Fly in Amber, and Aurora Wolf. Her books are published by Entangled Publishing, Lyrical Press, and Gypsy Shadow Publishing. She recently signed her YA sci fi novel with Inkspell Publishing titled: Colonization: Paradise Reclaimed, which will release in October 2012.

  8. I'm a Star Trek: TNG fan, too. I confess to being a Picard fan. I like a lot of sci fi--Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, etc. In books, I've enjoyed the Ender's Game series (Orson Scott Card). I see that your characters' names are unusual. How do you come up with them?
