Today's a big day with Lauren Hawkeye being here, this time to talk about her sexy new release Lead Me On. Thanks to Bewitching Book Tours for letting me bring Lauren to you and to Lauren herself for taking time out of her busy schedule. Lauren's given me an awesome interview and there's a giveaway at the end of this post so be sure to read the entire post to find out how to enter. And now for my chat with Lauren.....
TSP: How did you get where you are in your writing career today?
LH: Where am I in my writing career? LOL. Um. I guess the key is just to write-- to finish the book-- and to submit. Lots of writers are afraid to submit, but if you don't, you won't ever sell!
TSP: If you weren't writing, what could you see yourself doing?
LH: Probably knitting more :) But I'd probably still make up stories in my head while I was doing it.
TSP: What is an average writing day like for you? Considering that you're a new mom, I'm sure your days are chaotic.
LH: I've recently gone back to my day job, and I'm still working out how to work writing into my day. Ideally, I'd get up before the baby and write for a bit before work, but I do enjoy my sleep. I've signed up for NaNoWriMo (National novel Writing Month) for November, so I'll have to figure it out soon!
TSP: The majority of your books are erotic in nature. Are there any other genres you'd like to write in that you haven't yet? And, do you have a favorite genre that you like to read?
LH: I love both reading and writing erotica. I am attempting to write some women's fiction at the moment-- we'll see how I do with less sex in the manuscript! As for reading, paranormal romance is probably my favorite-- Nalini Singh, Gena Showalter, Juliana Stone... I could go on!
TSP: Can you tell us a bit about your Erotic Me series? Where did you get the idea from and do you have a favorite amongst the four stories? Also, considering how much sexiness is going on after that wedding, can I get a wedding invitation? LOL!
LH: Each story in the Erotic Me series is set the night after the same wedding. I wrote the first story, Take Me Down, and then thought that maybe some of the other guests had an interesting night, as well :) Lead Me On is my favorite of the four books by far-- Linda was a lot of fun to write!
TSP: What are your favorite qualities in a hero and heroine? And do you have a favorite couple, either from your writings or someone else's?
LH: Hmm... I like flaws. I like my heroine especially to have issues. As for the men-- really rugged men do it for me.
TSP: What are your feelings in regards to the digital revolution? How has it helped your career and how you interact with your readers? And do you have an eReader yourself?
LH: Oh, that's a loaded question. I have mixed feelings on the digital revolution. It's made it much harder to sell at all, even to e-pubs that I had no trouble selling to two years ago. As for print-- it's become even more elusive. Yet at the same time I feel that readers have more access to stories, and that has to affect sales-- books are more affordable, and are available so easily. I myself read on my iPad. I swore up and down that I would never move away from print books, but we won this iPad, and I love it!
TSP: What do you have coming up in the future with your writing? Any top secret info you can share with us?
LH: LOL, nothing top secret! Right now I'm working on my first women's fiction. We will have to see where it goes!
TSP: My blog is all about favorite things. What are some of your favorite things, the things you can't live without?
LH: My favorite things... there are a lot! My son. Yarn. Chapstick. Lavender. The color green. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Moscato wine. Strong coffee. A good book. Scented candles. I could go on...
Thanks for having me Jody!
And thanks to you too Lauren for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer my questions! And now to learn more about Lead Me On....

Linda doesn’t know why she agreed to attend an old friend’s wedding, or the after party where she encounters her old flame, Eric. She’s as attracted to him now as she was in college…and even more aroused when she meets his captivating friend Nate.
Unlikely as it seems, Linda can’t deny the two sexy men are interested in her—and that she wants them both, too. She’s determined to follow the night through with them, wherever it may lead…
Book three of Lauren Hawkeye’s Erotic Me series.
Lauren Hawkeye is a writer, theatre enthusiast, knitting aficionado and animal lover who lives in the shadows of the great Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada.
She’s older than she looks—really—and younger than she feels—most of the time—and she loves to explore the journeys that take women through life in her stories.

:) Great interview! I love the digital revolution, but agree it has changed things. Now if a book at all is published, it has to go through so many different hands. I work in a library and we have a lot of local authors who self-publish. Expensive but they are happy to get their books out there to readers. Your story looks great, Congratulations! :)

Congrats on the release! I love that each of the stories are different but all related to the wedding. And belated congrats on your son
ReplyDeleteI agree that the digital revolution has changed a lot about books. There are so many choices available these days. I did not think I would ever love e books as much as I do now but they are great.
