Book Tour for Love Again by Kelly Elliott (REVIEW)

It’s love in a small town, a romance that’s sweet and sexy, that will pull readers in as an older woman gives into the tempting younger friend of her brother.  Keep reading to get a tempting taste of Love Again by Kelly Elliott, along with my impressions of it, then add this fourth installment in the Cowboys & Angels series to your bookshelf.

Jonathon Turner is going to be the death of me.
Maybe not the death of me…but my panties for sure! They seem to disintegrate the moment he touches me. Looks at me. Smiles at me. Talks to me.
It’s more than physical. He’s breaking through an impenetrable wall.
There’s a problem though—he’s younger than me.
Six. Years. Younger.
Let’s not forget he’s also one of my brother’s best friends.
Oh, the other problem I forgot to mention...
I never wanted to fall in love again.
But you know what they say….never say never.

EXCERPT:

I didn’t hear a word that the interior designer was saying. I was focused on the way Jonathon looked in those Wranglers. And his boots. And the freaking black cowboy hat that made his grey eyes stand out. I swallowed hard.
Jesus…could this guy get any hotter?
Jonathon caught my stare from across the room. When he smiled my panties nearly disintegrated. The man had never even touched me, and yet one look from him and I was damn near panting.
Yes, he could get hotter. Christ Almighty.
Before I could stop myself, my tongue ran over my dry lips. Jonathon’s brows rose and his boyishly handsome smile turned into a sexy-as-hell grin. When his eyes smoldered, my breath hitched.
I wiped my brow. Shit, is it hot in here?
Jonathon knew where my dirty little mind had taken me, and I was pretty damn sure his was going in the same direction. I closed my eyes and tried not to picture anything sexy, but failed. Me…up against the wall with him buried deep inside me, giving me a long overdue orgasm.
“Waylynn? Waylynn?” Ann’s voice pulled me from my naughty thoughts.
Popping my eyes open, I cleared my throat. “What? Huh?”
With a sweet smile, Ann repeated the question I had totally tuned out.
“The color scheme. Are you good with it?”
I frowned. What in the heck was she talking about? Color scheme? “Umm.”
The young woman waited patiently, while I stood there with my mouth open like an idiot.
“Color scheme?” I asked with a slight smile.
Ann laughed. “Did you even hear a word I said?”
My eyes darted to Jonathon. He was leaning against a desk in the middle of the room. It was the only piece of furniture that had been left by the previous owners of this space. His arms were now crossed over his massive chest, and he wore a shit-eating grin. Did the man know how freaking handsome he was? That sex appeal dripped off of him?
He winked, and I had to lock my knees to keep from falling.
Bastard.
He knew exactly where my mind had gone, because his was there as well.
Turning back to the interior decorator, I replied, “I’m so sorry. Jonathon was distracting me.”
One quick glance back and Jonathon’s smile vanished, replaced by a shocked expression. “Me?” he asked.
I nodded. “Yes. You.”
Ann was now staring at Jonathon. I could see by the look in her eyes and the way she chewed her lip that she was having similar thoughts. It was obvious by the way she was trying not to look in his direction while she talked. She was probably the same age as he was, and that pissed me off. Then again, I had to remind myself that Jonathon hadn’t been staring at Ann. He’d been staring at me.
“What did I do?” Jonathon asked.
I wanted to say that his hotness was making my panties wet, and the throbbing between my legs was making it hard to think, but I decided it was best to avoid the truth.
“That desk you’re leaning on. I keep wondering why the previous owner left it?”
Jonathon looked down at the desk as Ann asked, “Do you want to keep the desk? It would be beautiful refinished.”
I shrugged. “I’m not sure.”
Jonathon walked around it. “I’m sure we could put this to good use. I can come up with an idea or two.”
His head lifted and his eyes caught mine. I swore they turned as dark as the night sky. I swallowed, trying to ignore the pulse between my legs.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

It’s a story teeming with soap opera events when an older woman starts a relationship with her brother’s younger friend.  Issues revolving around their age difference and the inability to get pregnant are balanced with a sweet and sexy romance whose future seemed uncertain at times but which kept me fully immersed until the very end.  It’s a story that frustrated me, brought a tear to my eye, but ultimately left my heart warmed for its strong sense of family.

Waylynn Parker’s life didn’t go as she planned it to with her recent divorce and fears over never having the chance to have a child of her own.  The only good thing going for her is the building of her dance studio, which has been extra enjoyable because of the sexy contractor who’s her brother’s best friend.  Being around him has given her hours of mental fantasies along with a much-needed boost to her ego.  Though she tries to fight her attraction, citing their age difference and pregnancy concerns repeatedly, they’re just meant to be. Throughout their rocky road to HEA there’s tons of angst and unnecessary roadblocks that felt emotionally manipulative at times.  Waylynn too is a character that left me conflicted for her tendency to jump to conclusions and assume the worst.  She was a strong-willed person though in so many other ways, protective of family and loyal to those friends she calls family.  She was quick to stand up for her brothers, which had me cheering, while questioning Jonathon’s unwavering dedication to her left me disappointed.  Her actions marred my enjoyment of this story overall, but with a cast of so many other appealing characters I found myself glued to the pages.

Jonathon Turner has always felt an attraction to Waylynn and is more than ready to step up and claim her the moment her divorce is finalized.  He knows there will be roadblocks courtesy of her overprotective brothers, one of who is his best friend, and some people’s judgments over their age difference.  He doesn’t care though and wants to quickly claim her in front of everyone which endeared him to me.  While she wanted to keep him her dirty little secret he stood proudly beside her.  Throughout this story Jonathon’s utterly perfect. Every word and deed shows her how much he desires her and how little he cares about the melodramatic roadblocks that get thrown into their journey.  He supports her wholeheartedly through every emotional high and low, despite the hurtful words she tosses his way.  From the first page to last he’s the quintessential book boyfriend and a highlight of this story.

As the fourth installment in the Cowboys and Angels series readers have come to call these characters family.  We’ve laughed and cried with them and in this book there’s plenty more tears and heartwarming interactions to be found.  With a nearly perfect hero, readers will be left frustrated by a heroine who’s determined to be miserable.  Her quick judgments and assumptions almost ruined her HEA, but luckily her supportive family pointed out how wrong she was before she hurt Jonathon much more.  It’s family that drives this story, keeps readers immersed, and they’re a colorful and entertaining group.  From heartwarming couples to sweet and sexy singles readers have fallen in love with these characters and have much to look forward to while waiting for the next installment to hit bookshelves.

My rating for this is a B-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
