”You can put that man in a suit, but he'll never be tame.”
One look at Jericho Forge and I knew the rumors were true. He was a predator, and he had set his sights on me.

I was wrong.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
When it comes to captivating readers Ms. March has become a master as she weaves storylines full of eroticism with larger than life characters caught up in secrets and lies. This brand new trilogy offers all that and more, leaving readers gasping once her trademark cliffhanger arrives. In a journey full of suspense, and with an unforgettable main couple, readers will find their hearts racing, cheeks blushing, and counting down the days until we once again plunge into this exhilarating romance.
India Baptiste’s life has been a colorful one growing up with little money and a strong and protective side that has her now willing to sacrifice all to save her younger sister. India’s gained notoriety as a top-notch poker player which will come in handy as she needs to earn ten million dollars to get her sister out of danger. It’s at a high stakes poker match that India meets the rich and powerful Jericho Forge who will change her life irrevocably in a journey that leaves her flushed, her heart pounding, and caught in the middle of his revenge. India’s a likable heroine with a cool demeanor but a big heart when it comes to her family. That big heart puts her smack dab in the middle of danger, an unwitting pawn that’s just hinted at with this book’s cliffhanger. Along with all the secrets and lies comes a scorching romance that surprises India as she’s been burned by men before and doesn’t trust easily. Her attraction to Jericho is more than obvious though and just beginning to pick up steam here in scenes full of sexual tension and erotically-charged encounters. India’s fully tempted by what Jericho offers in this book, but she’s left conflicted by all he hasn’t yet said, which has me longing to know more and on edge waiting to see the fallout from the jaw-dropping cliffhanger.
Jericho Forge is a strong and sexy hero full of mystery. He’s clearly an Alpha, used to getting exactly what he wants. He surrounds himself with wealth and beautiful women, giving him a reputation that leaves men and women in awe. There’s a bit of darkness in his past though, a death he can’t get over and that’s barely hinted at here. To right that wrong he’ll do whatever’s necessary, use anyone, even if his decision wars with his heart. He tries to keep India at arm’s length early on but it’s a battle he’s clearly having trouble waging as her strength, sexiness, and tell-it-like-it-is attitude leads to admiration and a desire to make their connection even more meaningful. Through it all Jericho remains a drool-worthy hero. Though he’s a bit arrogant there are moments where a caring side shines through and it’s those rare moments that warmed my heart. As his true motivations aren’t yet clear I’m left equally conflicted as to the future he says he wants with India, a future put even further in doubt by another scream-inducing cliffhanger.
Readers will be captivated by the perfect balance of suspense and sexiness found in this series starter, a balance bringing together a compelling main couple. Jericho and India are a formidable pair, with their crackling banter and eroticism, and you can’t help but be invested in their journey. In scenes that will make readers blush to scenes that are playful, theirs is a romance that becomes believable. Though both put on a facade around others, their time together rang much more true and it had me rooting for them every step of the way. Along with its compelling main couple, Ms. March introduces us to an equally enticing cast of secondary characters that fuel the suspense as each seems to play a part in Jericho and India’s journey. Each character left their mark, but there were two that were especially captivating. India’s sister Summer is a free spirit with a bold attitude, beloved by her sister who would (and does) make big sacrifices to keep her safe. She’s now part of Jericho’s world too and it will keep India tethered to him as his secrets are revealed. The other character is Bastien de Vere, a sad little rich boy flitting from one excitement to the next. He and India have a past, one that fuels Jericho’s revenge and arouses his jealousy. Bastien’s a player in all he does and his actions throughout this story amp up the suspense and leaves everything in doubt as readers are left on edge waiting for the next installment. On a whole Ms. March has crafted another decadently delightful read that will have readers coming back for more!
